I really liked this story but I won't continue the series because I know it's mostly about a new character. What I would like to say to Kimberly Loth is this. Please slow down your endings. It seems like she is committed to keeping her books under 300 pages but it is to her own detriment. I really loved the building of the story especially in the first book but the last 25 or so pages of each always seemed to rush together leaving my head spinning and not in a good way. I felt the same for her dragon Kings series. So much potential but it ended up flopping pretty hard.

I liked this installment more than the first but the weird love triangle is cringe-worthy the longer it goes on. I was happily surprised for a couple twists that I didn't see coming in this one, though.

The storyline improved but the writing is still amateur at best and reads quite young. I still may continue with the series because the completist in me doesn't like doing things half way.

I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and easy read with a unique premise. It's available on Kindle Unlimited.

I read the first Thorn Chronicles story, Kissed, at the beginning of May 2014. Considering the fact that this was 7 months before I read Destroyed and on average I have read 100 books since then, I did not have to remind myself of the characters or plot.
In Kissed, Kimberly Loth merged the paranormal with the frightening reality of Naomi’s life and the abuse she was subject to. Destroyed begins by reminding the reader of the decisions Naomi has made; she is with Puck and still a Shade. Although I enjoyed the intensity of Destroyed, for me it did not deliver as much as the prequel. Naomi is forced into a difficult situation, living with the father she has not yet forgiven and pretending she loves Kai. Yet there were times I wanted to kick her up the behind! Seriously, the love triangle drama drove me mad, “When I’m with Puck, I want Puck. When I’m with you, I want you.” GGGGRRRRRRRR! Yet, much of Destroyed is about Naomi finding her true power and choosing the side she wants to belong to, so I guess her indecision about Puck and Kai is just a reflection of this.
Naomi’s is by far the biggest character development in the novel. The persona she discovers is shocking and watching her enjoying using her destructive side is uncomfortable.
Kimberly Loth does not ignore the connection between Naomi’s story and her roses. In returning to her childhood home, Naomi has access to her greenhouse and she uses the roses there as an outlet and not just for her emotions. Also, each chapter begins with a short description about the flowers which becomes relevant to the events to follow.
Although I do not want to run around in the street whooping about Destroyed, I did enjoy how Kimberly Loth evolves the story, retaining the good versus evil plot but keeping a sense of originality. I hope that the next installment follows soon!

Can I just say something? I started this, knowing about the 1st book and how good it was, and assumed it would be fairly good - about as good as the first book. But it wasn't.
It was better.
I thought I would be reading a chapter or two a day, and once I got to chapter five it was like I couldn't put it down. Curse myself! What am I going to do, though, stop reading? Yeah right.
Be aware that this review contains some SPOILERS!
I love Naomi's character. She is strong, but still realizes that she has some growing up to do and some tough decisions to make. I always thought the love triangle thing was kind of lame, probably because I was never involved in a love triangle. I don't have a lot of pity for the Bella's of the world who are like, "I love you both!" Lame. Apologies to those of you who have ever said, "Stop fighting over me!", but please. Gag me. I know this story is about a love triangle. You'll have to read it to understand why I'm so happy with it.
Throughout the book Naomi tries to convince Kai that she loves him just so he'll come back to the guardians. They use Destroyer energy to help their cause and spend a lot of time making out. Who of us hasn't been involved in this superficial kind of relationship? In the end, though, is it really love? Probably not. You'll have to read it and find out.
What I Loved About This Book: Naomi facing her fears and overcoming hardships. The whole story was awesome.
What I didn't like about it: Hmmm...can I get back to you on that? Okay, so my grammar nerd came out to be picky about typos and other dumb things, and I noticed that sometimes Kai and Naomi sounded like the same person. But that happens when you spend a lot of time with someone anyway. Did it affect the story? Nope. Will read again.
Happy Reading!

This novel didn't have the punch the first one did. It seems to go in circles and I'm pretty sure none of the Destroyers and Guardians knew what they were doing, except for the people killing the Guardians. Kai seemed really stupid. He lost the flare and grace he possessed in the first novel. Naomi sadly let me down. What did I like about this novel? I liked seeing the story through, but it could have been down in a similar fashion. This story has a major love triangle, which Kai, Puck, and Naomi were just babies about. Some tragic stuff happens in this novel that made me really bummed. The novel is full of so many twists, that I was sure no one could be trusted by anyone at any time ever.

The let down was that this novel had quite a few typos that could be fixed if the author just read the novel out loud.

Reader Rated for ages 15+ for moderate violence and mild sensuality.

Rating this one was hard. There were elements I really enjoyed and others that were a bit strange to me. I liked that Naomi realized she was the master destroyer and that she was guardian enough to find the best fit for the master destroyer title and learned how to clear the negative energy. That rose bush though...that's just creepy. The animal abuse was graphic and really altered the rest of the book for me. Her relationship with her dad evolved and that made me rebound from all the animal abuse and the horrible descriptions of what the animals looked like :(

As soon as Naomi began catching kai in non-stop lies about Ruth I disliked him from that point on out. Once a liar always a liar and his character became unlikable to me. It doesn't shock me that he'd end up dating Ruth. But I am happy that Ruth got a somewhat happy ending. For a non-developed character she was likable.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, but the love triangle was just annoying and was not really necessary for the story. I also don't have any particular affinity toward Puck or Kai as both are really just using Naomi. I hope in future books she moves on from both of them. The first half of the book was just a bunch of teen angst over the boys, which I could've done without. Once the story really got going it was rushed and unfinished. I hope that the next two books are better balanced. Overall, I like the story, I just feel like it could've been written better with appropriate focus.

Trigger warning for animal abuse. It's easily skippable and doesn't describe the abuse but the results of the abuse, but it caught me off guard. So anyone that takes issue with it, may want to be aware so it doesn't sneak up on you.

Master Destroyer

Naomi wanted to stay with Puck and the Guardians and she never wanted to return to Arkansas. That was not to be, Guardians were being murdered, the destroyers were out of control. She agreed to go back to Kai in Arkansas and report to the Guardians as she is the only one Kai would trust. In order to get the Destroyers under control she became the master destroyer. What happens next and whether she ever sees Puck again is contained with the pages of book two. I liked book one, but book two was better. Hold on to your seats and enjoy the ride it's a wild one.

I love this story so much! It's so incredibly creative and lacks the ugly abuse of the first book. Even better, the twists were so unexpected that I was gasping aloud and hollering no...to the confusion of all those sharing a car with me. :) The only bummer was there were so many errors that kept pulling me out of the story (missing words, wrong word, odd misspellings...like packpack instead of backpack), otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Content warning: Profanity and some sexual content; PG-13 if it were a movie

The Kai, Puck, and Naomi love triangle ended with a really?! I cannot believe the big secret was that Kai was also in love with Ruth. It made the end so boring and disappointing. Love triangles are way over done in this genre but I expected more.

Naomi was the master destroyer. I expected it based upon all of the huge hints. She shouldn’t be allowed to be a guardian since she had a hand in killing her mother. Instead, it is completely ignored.

The beginning was decent and that’s why I ended up giving it 2 Stars. The ending wrapped up too nicely and left me disappointed.

Wow, that had some very unexpected twists. I'm not sure any of my words can do this justice, but let's try. The storyline was incredibly exciting and dramatic in places, some loveable characters in this one had very unexpected outcomes. And then there's the two main guys, choosing between them is impossible. Naomi had grown alot since the first book, you really see how much she's changed in book 2. The narrative is very good, and the new characters in this sound promising. I'm looking forward to the next book, this series is amazing and definitely worth reading.

Whoa, so much has changed for Naomi and she continues to grow in strength and character. I enjoyed seeing how Kai and Puck behaved in regards to Naomi. I was surprised that a particular characters returned and for spoiler reasons I won’t list why, but know that it was a good twist!!
The narrator, Emma Lysy did a fantastic job narrating Naomi and the other characters. It was easy to distinguish each characters voice and to follow along as well. I highly recommend the audiobook as I felt like the narrator truly elevates the book.
I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next in this world.

The beginning of this one confused me but in the best possible way. I was like wait a minute here... this is not how the last book ended. But once I caught on, it was brilliant. I'm pretty sure this book should be called Revelations because there were sooooo many! More of the old Guardian and Destroyer crews, plus a few new characters. I think I liked this one better than the first one.

In my opinion, this could have benefited from better world building. Even though this is the second book in the series there were still parts where I was confused. Also, I just didn’t like anyone in this series and therefore was not really invested in the story. Things also wrapped up a bit too quickly.

Loved it!

Great follow up from Kissed! I enjoyed the love triangle and the spies from the Guardians and Destroyers. Great book for any age. I truly enjoyed the way the author tied up all the characters. Great read.

Same review for this as book 1.

Parts were good, more was frustrating or eye rolling. I started book 3 but I don’t want to read about Sunday so unsure whether I will continue.

Love it!

Great story! A few editing errors but it doesn't detract from the story. This is my second time reading this series and I still love it! The way she portrayed Las Vegas is interesting and really close to true. Great job from a great author!!!

I'm not sure how anyone didn't see all the twists coming. The author very much foreshadows them and not subtly. I still enjoy the stories and being proved right.
