What happens when a bet between best friends takes an unexpected turn? Ty and Spencer have been best friends for six years. A constant in their relationship are the frequent, and sometimes extreme, bets they make with each other. No matter what, they both know they’ll hold up their end of the bargain. After Ty witnesses something he wasn’t meant to see, he starts to look at Spencer in a different way. When another outrageous bet is made between them, Ty begins to wonder if this will be his opportunity to get something he never knew he wanted. Will upping the ante on their friendship be the payout they never dreamed possible? Or will laying all their cards on the table cost them everything? **This is a sexy and funny quick-read novella and is 30,200 words.

I liked the blurb but the way their relationship developed was rushed, unrealistic, and corny. So much character development was sacrificed in exchange for somewhat hot but overall mediocre sex. After reading, I know nothing about either character and I'm left trying to determine if there was truly a plot to be found or to even remember their names. Read for smut, forget about everything else.

Hot and fun!
This is a quick read, friends so lovers, with a little spice in it.
I really enjoyed the connection between the two main characters, and how Ty wanted Spencer to teach him to be 'peachy', and how Spencer taught him and falling for each other in the end.
I liked the chemistry, the tension building between them.

♥.•🌟¨)☆♡¸.•🌟´¨)☆♡¸.•♥🌟´¨)☆♡♥
♡🌟(¸.•♥´🌟< This changes everything.

A bet.

Changed his life.

Just as much as spying on his roommate and best friend, allegedly.

It wasn't supposed to be like that. Ty and Spencer had built their friendship on bets, the crazier the better. Yet, with one swoop, Ty was at Spencer's mercy for three weeks. It was his own stupid words, "no limits" that turned everything on its head. Now Spencer was testing him and Ty could only follow orders. "Are you going to take a gamble and bet on us or walk away?" Spencer wanted to know. Ty had one choice and it needed to be the right one. Bet on it and one click to get the answer.

Delightfully enjoyed through KU.

Jaclyn Quinn’s novella, Bet On It (KU), is live!!! It is SO GOOD and SMOKING HOT!!!! GFY, friends to lovers, a little D/s element...ticks all of my boxes!!! A little different then what you have read before from her, but OMG it's so hot, sexy, sweet and funny. I loved the premise. The ending?? ❤️ Oh yeah..let me just say that one of the things I love the most about Jaclyn's stories, besides her kick ass sense of humor, is that she could take the road most traveled when she writes, but she chooses to always add her own little twist that makes her stories just a bit different...This one is no exception!!

The blurb drew me in straightaway; I love a good tale of best friends whose relationship turns into something more; the discovering of something new about your sexuality and the emotions that comes with it. Ty and Spencer had known each other a long time and lived together, but Ty spies a hot encounter with Spencer and another guy which starts him questioning things about himself and his sexuality. Then, a bet between Ty and Spencer changes everything. To watch Ty evolve and be the person he was truly meant to be was done well, there was not too much angst and heavy drama and I adored the conversation with his parents (I wish all queer kids had the same reaction from their family) and one of the best things about this read was that we didn’t really know what was going through Spencer’s mind until near the end and that was amazing and really made the story for me. If you want a hot, funny and emotional read about two best friends handling their emotions as they fall in love, then this is a great one to try.

OMG too short 💖

I love best friends to lover trope and this was such an intense, hot and make-you-feel giddy kinda story. Ty and Spencer have amazing chemistry and I feel robbed because this was just too short!!! GIVE ME MOOOOORE 😍

I've been a fan of Jaclyn Quinn since the first book she published and with each story she keep fascinating me more. I can't wait to see what comes next from under her fingers.

The first book I read from this author was a slow burn, more story than sex. This book was written just as well but quite opposite, more sex than story. Ty spies on his gay roommate Spencer and discovers he’s not as straight as he thought. Not knowing how to broach the subject, Ty ups the ante on one of their bets to try and find out what he’s missing. The story is primarily erotica, with an out for you storyline and light BDSM. Ty has a pretty low-key reaction to figuring out his sexuality, so there’s no needless drama over that. Ty does spend time in the narrative questioning himself and examining his feelings. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t a more original direction for the plot but it’s still a perfectly pleasant story with well-paced, encounters growing gradually more intense. A good, fast moving read.

Ty and Spencer have been best friends for years, but when Ty accidentally sees more of Spencer than he meant to, it begins to make him question the lines of friendship to having more. The bet, and upping the ante of that bet, gives Ty the chance to see if he does want more from Spencer.

I thought that the chemistry between the two was great, and the little bit of d/s thrown in was hot. Ty had a bit of back and forth when he first realized he was attracted to his best friend, understandably. But I liked that he worked to overcome that, he talked to his parents about it even, and he knew he wanted Spencer.

I wish we had gotten a POV from Spencer, to know what he was thinking as they were growing closer. And I wish there had been an epilogue with them, too. But overall I really enjoyed this and will have to check out other stories from this author.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Steamy and fun best-friends to lovers romance. A bet becomes the avenue that allows these guys to push past their normal boundaries and explore each other. This is an engaging story-line and the writing flows nicely. This is a fun short story that i read in one sitting.

Ty and Spencer are so connected as best friends and then add the intimate component and their chemistry erupts into amazing and life changing. I so enjoyed how they Spencer really took care of Ty and always had his best interest at heart.

I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

2.5/3 Stars - I did enjoy this book so don’t think it was a bad book from the slightly lower rating.

It just wasn’t great...

It’s a pretty fast paced friends to lovers book, and that is pretty much all the book focuses on which is fine buttttt in that case I expected there to be more steam and sexual tension than what I got.

I mean, I still wanted to know what happened at the end so it’s not a 2* had to push through to finish or anything, just a *i won’t necessarily remember this book* kind of rating.

Perfectly sweet light kink.

Ty walks in on his friend and roomie with a one night stand. He then loses a bet to Spencer and becomes his servant for the week. Servant turns into fully consenting service bottom, but as the end of their bet looms Ty finds he doesn't want it to end.

Shmoop for the BDSM crowd. Almost vanilla. Light flogging, cuffs, a loincloth, and some housekeeping. This was really cute!

Spencer and Ty are great friends who often have fun and crazy bets between them. When Ty loses a "no limits" bet he finds himself at the mercy of Spencer.
I liked that Spencer wasn't pushing Ty too hard, giving Ty the space to come to terms with his feelings by himself.
I also liked the way their relationship evolved. How they grew stronger together, opening themselves up to each other.
A well paced, sexy, friends to lovers story.

Sweet and hot, just how I like my quickies! And with a gay for you, best friends to lovers storyline, well, I was one happy gal!
This was a fun, steamy read with a bit of an emotional edge as Ty came to terms with his feelings for Spencer. Ty's really endearing and I really liked how Spencer took control, but still pretty much let Ty lead them. I wouldn't have minded reading more of these two!

Bet On It by Jaclyn Quinn is a stand alone contemporary mm romance that is hot, sexy and gives a nice little taste BDSM kink.
I love Ty and Spencer and hoe their relationship evolves from roommate/friends into lovers. It's a wonderfully entertaining read.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

I really enjoyed this novella. It had well developed characters with satisfying depth and smoking hot chemistry, especially for a novella. My main criticism is that it was just too short. It is a good read as it is, but could have been truly great with a little more length. I would have enjoyed dual POV on this one and an epilogue. It ended rather abruptly.

This was a steamy little number.

Ty and I found it just Peachy.

I would have loved for it to be longer to fully flesh the characters out beyond their relations with each other, because I liked who they were and some more of them would be a treat.

But, for a friends-to-lovers novella with a side of kink-lite, I can't complain one little bit.

I love Ty and Spencer. The slow realisations that Ty went through and how Spencer helped him through it without Ty even realising was great. The only thing is I wish it was longer!

This is really bad. I’m not trying to be mean, but it’s just very juvenile writing. And I can’t deal with characters who name their genitalia, and they also talk to them regularly. Calling your dick Benny is not something I will ever want to read.

I read a lot of books with bets, fake relationships, and even clueless characters, but this was too much even for me that it took me out of fun fantasy to eye-roll lunacy.

I’m not sure where the mild BDSM elements came in, as they didn’t, for me, serve any purpose. Sex is fun, so I don’t think every action in sex is thought out or needs to be over-analyzed, but in a book this short, and with it being there, I need it to make sense for both the scene and the characters.

I have felt plenty of emotion in short books, and I have felt immense emotion with characters who have been longtime friends who found love. This I felt nothing. There just wasn’t enough substance surrounding the “GOLLY GEE SHUCKS” of Ty and the half-ass Master Spencer for me to care where they ended up.

Sorry; this was a miss for me.

This book is hot, sweet, kinky and funny! This is my first Jaclynn Quinn read and I must say that I really enjoyed it. This is a friends to lovers story and it's one of my favourite tropes. It's got a little bit of D/s element and though I like bondage I am not into the Master/Sir thing. The ending was a bit of a surprise since throughout the whole book we only get Ty's POV and so Spencer sort of surprised me.

Bet On It is a short short, low angst , fast and cute story of friends to lovers and GFY . The plotline is a bit predictable and generic. It has plenty of sexy scenes and the BDSM aspect is light.

An eye-opening night changes Ty in ways he only ever relegated to the depths of a locked vault in his own mind. The object of his new-found desires? His best friend and roommate. When their traditional wagers are thrown down Ty issues a stipulation of his own that changes everything. But the real test is if he's ready to accept not just new parts of his sexuality, but all the complicated feelings that go along with exploring them. If he can reconcile his head, his heart, and his...well, you know, then he and Spencer might just have a future they can bet on together.

I liked Ty and could feel his internal conflict very strongly which made him relatable and memorable. But he didn't really have any background to give him additional depth. Spencer was far less interesting. All he really added to the story was a means to open Ty's sexual world and to be the object of his new romantic feelings for his best friend. Their sexual chemistry was freaking incendiary though. That alone was worth reading and when you combine it with all of Ty's complex internal journey, it made it a great read. Except those two things don't exactly excuse the lack of individual background, an epilogue, and one virtually blank partner for the MC.

This was a tricky one for me. I'm conflicted because my like for the good stuff is very high and yet I'm hesitant to rave about the book as a whole because there were some key things missing to make the book feel truly complete. The writing was smooth, captivating, and definitely on par for this author. The story line was kept simple and with very little angst it made the whole thing feel light so the focus could remain on Ty's personal evolution. Overall, this was a super sexy read with an endearing MC that I would have loved more from.

Ok, first of all - for all those people who wish there was more and that it ended abruptly and it feels unfinished and all that - this was not a full length book. This was a novella. It wasn't meant to be a full fledged book.

As far as why there is only one POV, you won't know why until the very end, and then you'll realize why it was done this way, trust me, it's good.

I know we're left with a ton of questions, and I don't think we're gonna get answers, we just have to be happy with the way it ended.

What works for me though, is that the author managed to bring some BDSM aspects without making the book dark. It never crossed into that trope. I was a little annoyed with Spencer at first, but then again, these are friends that have known each other for 8 yrs. It was just really well written, albeit I hate that I wanted more and didn't get it.

Change was in the air…

Ty and Spence are best friends who are always joking around and making bets. Witnessing something he shouldn’t have, Ty is now curious as to what it would be like to be with Spence. After losing a bet over a football game Ty is hopeful that now is his chance.

Spencer sat there thinking. “How about this? Loser has to be the winner’s servant for three weeks.” “With no limits,” Ty added

I enjoyed the bantering and playfulness. Ty was trying hard to be open to the changes he was experiencing and I liked that he trusted Spence.

"Anything that occurs from this point on happens”—Spencer’s blue eyes were intense, and Ty couldn’t bring himself to even blink—“between two consenting adults.”

This short story is steamy and funny with light BDSM. Jaclyn Quinn does a great job in showing the chemistry between Ty and Spencer before and after the final bet. I’m excited to read more by Jaclyn Quinn.

"Anything that occurs from this point on happens" -Spencer's blue eyes were intense, and Ty couldn't bring himself to even blink- "between two consenting adults."

Before starting this book, I was trying to figure out where I'd seen Jaclyn Quinn before - a quick GR perusal and I realized I'd read this author in the Ace's Wild series Spreadsheets. That book was an easy 4/5 for me, and this book seemed to follow trend!

The power in Spencer's voice shocked him to the core.

It's no secret I'm a fan of the 'bet' trope, but when you add in this was a fun, super fast-paced read! The low-angst ending made this the perfect interlude read. I'll definitely check out more from this author in the future.

2.75 Stars ⭐️ I didn’t particularly care for this one, the characters weren’t that like able for me, mostly Spencer. He just came across as more of a jerk than anything most of the time, instead of being cocky in a charming way. There was just something off about the dynamic and connection between them and their motivations came across as unbelievable at times. Ty’s whole motivation was more about the sexual attraction he felt for Spencer and there was never a real romantic side to it, so I never got on board with them as a couple. The last couple of chapters did finally lean into the romance aspect of the relationship, but it was just a little too late by then.

I think one big problem for me is I very much love a story about friends who fall in love with each other and you can feel the strong connection between them that shifts into an even stronger romantic bond, and I got none of that in this story.

Bet On It, by Jaclyn Quinn, is a great gay for you/friends to lovers romance.

Ty and Spencer have been best friends for years. But the fun starts when a bet turns into so much more than either expected. Ends up the straight Ty suddenly has interest in more from Spencer.

The tension is high, the sex is hot, and the emotions are strong. It's impossible for me to pick a favorite scene or favorite moment, as I just enjoyed every moment. Well, the ending sure is awesome, but so is the rest of the story. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. Add in roommates, GFY, and some bondage and D/s and wow, just wow!

There is so much to love about this story. The writing is fantastic, with a great pace, and keeping me invested the entire time. It's fun and will just make you happy. There's a whole lot of humor, mixed in with some fantastic firsts for Ty.
