Beauty And The Beast
Erhuvwun is the most beautiful girl in her small village. Everyone knows this, and her father, Onuoha, takes great pride in this knowledge. But one day, he makes the mistake of offering her hand in marriage as a wager on a sure bet. When Amadi wins the bet, Onuoha is distraught, but Amadi is determined to claim his prize; his bride.
However, Erhuvwun loves Akpos. But since he left for the city about a year ago, she doesn’t know what to make of his promise to come back for her and marry her. At only 16 years old, she finds herself in a marriage to a complete stranger, who is not the easiest person to live with. He doesn’t respect her or women in general, and she soon finds out that her happiness in marriage is very much dependent on if she can birth him a male child.
Amadi is a man unfamiliar with love. His father taught him that women are good only for pleasure and procreation, and it’s a man’s right to rule over them. He grew up in a home where his mother was despised, and his father’s other wives were cast away for only bearing daughters. When his wife suffers, not one but two, miscarriages, he’s sure that she is cursed. The problem, however, is that there’s something bewitching about Erhuvwun.

Tropes: Strangers to Lovers , Christian novella
General thoughts:
I had a problem pronouncing the main character’s name , so I shortened it in my head lol 😂 just calling her Erhu.
Apart from that I loved how God , Yahweh was introduced in this story . It’s an inspirational story with a lot of life lessons in it. I was imagining this story to be like the nollywood village stories.
I will highly recommend this read
Book overview:
Imagine being Erhu, a daughter of a drunkard who has bet his daughter off to the village’s outcast aka the beast Armadi. She will be married to this stranger once you hit 16. He is a cold hearted entrepreneur, who has almost every villager owning him. Armani’s father left him with unsettling ideologies about women e.g women are evil, they are only good for giving you kids and pleasure etc
He was told to never show affection or compassion as that makes him seem weak.
This makes it hard to love him , but as time goes on. Erhu falls in love with her husband after discovering his loving side but because of the training his father gave him , he slips in and of his old tendencies.
When Erhu goes through two miscarriages, she wants to find out the solution and she believes it starts with Armadi step mothers who visited them mysteriously on day she miscarried the second time .
On her quest to find the step mothers ,she discover Yahweh , the lord of host, who changes everything for Erhu and Armadi.
Read the story to find out whether she gives birth again and if Armadi becomes the loving husband she always wanted ?

Beauty and the beast by is so intriguing, interesting and beautiful to read. I was visualizing it as I was reading it.
I love how Yahweh was introduced in this book, it’s so beautiful to read. I also love how Amadi’s stepmother encountered God individually and they know God based on their encounter.
There are so many lessons in this book and I really do not want it end.
✅ It’s okay to be vulnerable in love, vulnerability doesn’t equate to being weak.
✅ All things works together for our good ( Akpos living a double life and expecting to go back and marry Erhu who had kept herself)
✅ Allow God fight your battles
Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟
