These stories are so well written and packed with imagination! The stories are like nothing I have read before. The story about maggots-gag! I actually was feeling physically sick from that one! A very original ghost story! A story that was so sad and gory at once. An alien story that's actually not really about aliens at all. This author knows how to make your skin crawl for sure.

A tantalizing read. Short stories each more twisted than the last. Is it real or an altered reality. This is a book of short stories. One inspired by a noisy dog gives us a chilling tale about a man and a dog. Or the soldier walking through the snow starving and freezing. What's wrong with him? Each tale gets you where it matters most, in your head. This author enjoys tormenting you with stories that not only stretch the imagination but the characters touch you in some way. If not to empathize with their plight then to understand the impossible and stretch the possibilities. These stories will haunt you and make you question the bumps in the night or the or the aftertaste of fear as it leaves its icy tendrils down your spine. Welcome to the world of Meghan O'Flynn where anything is possible if it can be dark twisted and go bump in the night.

O'Flynn does it again with the second installation of her short stories collection! I think my favorite of this group is The Good Listener. Atmospheric and creepy, this story will keep you guessing...and just when you think you know how it's going to end O'Flynn hits you with one of her trademark twists. There are a lot of weird and unexplained things in the world and if you're a good listener, they might just tell you their stories.

Fantastic storytelling that wraps you up in the character's minds and lets you peek into their lives. Only then you find out - you can't get back out! They invade your mind, your brain, and you are sucked in to their experiences, every horrifying moment is seared into your retinas as if you saw it yourself.

O'Flynn's short stories are just as dark and twisty as her novels. Alien Landscape is probably my favorite in this collection--it reads like pure horror but has an undercurrent of heartbreaking metaphor. Each story has its own distinct personality, its own unique twist. It's impossible to predict the endings.

This collection of short stories is a gem. The storylines are all well-written, filled with twists, vivid descriptions and unique qualities that elicit a rollercoaster of various emotions with its entertaining fare. These stories showcase the range of Meghan's talent and I loved it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

This is short stories of things and people that don't behave as they should. If you ever had a dream of something giving you an eerie feeling or someone who 'doesn't act right', this book is for you. It's not very long so it is a quick read, but don't let the number of pages fool you....still scary! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.

Scared out of my wits halfway through the first story. As always Meghan manages to invoke all of the feels; laughter, fear and some tears remembering when loved ones have passed. I’m a lifelong reader for this woman! You never know what’s coming next with her twisted mind. 😊

This collection of short stories has some interesting premises and twists. Each story has a different stylistic approach which I enjoyed. The thing I love most about this author and her short stories is nothing is ever what it seems and every one of her stories is unique. If you are looking for something out of the box, I would suggest Listeners.
