KD Jones is a pen name for Kizzie Jones. KD is a single working mother following her dream of becoming an author. She wants to teach her son to follow his dreams and to believe in himself.
Blaze only finds out his true parentage prior to his mother's death. When he is readily accepted by his father, he feels the need to be unclaimed by the King as this would disinherit any children he had with the Queen, something he is not willing to do.
After proving himself a formidable warrior, he finds himself strangely drawn to the queen but refuses to act upon his feelings. When Drakonia is attacked and his father dies, Blaze ends up on a mysterious planet with a ragtag bunch of survivors until they are later picked up by a Drakonian spaceship.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Arena has become a leader of the clan that made it to safety. However, she is constantly being challenged by groups who are not happy with a female, or at least an unmated female, being in charge! When she hears of Blaze's safe arrival she travels to see him. But once they meet again all those long-buried feelings, on both sides, are going to ignite!
Great shorter read, easily read in a lunch hour for me. Love meeting the Drakonians, their stories are all so individual due to the different ways they have made it to Earth, some taking years, other centuries. Lots of social taboos being faced but as there is no blood link between Arena and Blaze it's not cringey at all.
Blaze is a warrior that only wants to serve his King. When their world is in danger and their escape plan doesn't go as planned, he ends up alone on a strange planet. Then there is a second planet where he find others of his kind. They form a small clan and he is eventually made their leader. He never forgets the one that was forbidden to him. Queen Arena loved her husband and had ruled in his place since his death. She has also vowed to never take another mate unless it's her true mate. Blaze and his people get relocated to earth and are reunited with their former clans. However not everything goes smoothly. I adored this book, and was so happy to see Arena get her mate! The ending made me tear up. I hope that one day Shanna will get to redeem herself, I think there is hope for her yet.
