“Last time I looked we worked as Bear Creek Bodyguards, not Bear Creek Babysitters.”
Army veteran, Flint, has protected people all his life. But children? He doesn't know the first thing about children.
Fate sidestepped this silverback bear shifter when it came to finding his mate and having bear cubs of his own. So when he's asked to help protect a couple of children, Flint is not sure he's the man for the job.
However, fate might just have something special in store for Flint when he agrees to take the job.
His mate.
Jenna is on the run with two children. Her job is to keep them alive. And to stop them falling into the hands of bad men, who want to use them to get to their mom who is an investigative reporter. But Jenna can’t do it alone.
One phone call later and Flint is on the way to help them. But when Jenna meets Flint, it soon becomes clear that he is offering more than his protection. He’s offering his love, loyalty, and—if needed—his life.
Can these two fated mates work together to keep the children safe and make sure the bad men are bought to justice.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
This book started out so good and full of promise. The first couple of chapters hooked me right in and was seriously heart pounding and then it started to fizzle for me. I really didn't feel much of a connection between the H and h. There was a lot of pages I started to just skim as they rode from one motel to another and then marched up the mountain, played in the snow with the kids and finally marched back down the mountain. The kids ate a lot of cookies in this book. I gave it 3 stars because of the exciting beginning, but the rest of the book was just barely a 2 star for me.
BABYSITTER BEAR is a tense, fast-paced romance that shows a mother’s courage, a woman’s determination to protect the children in her care at all cost and one older, ex-military man who’d believed that his fated mate would never be found only to discover her in the middle of danger and chaos.
I adored Flint, he is the embodiment of a grumpy old bear who is set in his ways and follows a path that is direct and to the point. While the changes in him are subtle in some ways and simply amazing in others it was a fun ride to watch him discover that he might not be the loaner he always believed himself to be. Jenna is a woman anyone would be proud to call a friend, she’s gone above and beyond for her family – and now she’s faced with two kids that she adores being placed in grave danger and a handsome protector claiming to be her mate. Life just got interesting, or more so than usual for Jenna.
There are some very vile villains to be dealt with, a cross-country dash for safety, an intriguing plot, some visits from old friends from the Bear Creek and Bear Bluff series… and simply a damned good, engaging story to be found in BABYSITTER BEAR. I was caught up in this world, once again, from the very first page and loved every moment spent among old and new friends once more. If you love an engaging, fast-paced, intense romance then you’ve found what you’re looking for. I’d not hesitate to recommend this story or any of the others in this series or the connecting ones. I love the Bear Creek / Bear Bluff stories, and I believe you would as well.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked the connection between Flint and Jenna. Jenna was hired as a Nanny with extra-skills as she’s a ex-police officer to look after Laurel and Thomas for their mum Cynthia who’s an investigative reporter who has some bad men on her tail. She never gave Jenna any indication of who is after them and for what reason as Cynthia said it would be safer if she didn’t know and that she couldn’t trust the police as the person has a lot of money and connections so trust no one. Some men come and try and take the kids but after a warning message from Cynthia, Jenna got the kids out safely and is on the run with them, she calls the only person she knows she can trust her ex-police partner Guy who runs Bear Creek Protectors so he can send someone their way to help her keep the kids safe. Flint really isn’t keen being the one to help Jenna keep the kids safe but after hearing a bit more about the situation he heads their way. The last thing Flint was expecting when he arrived at the motel door was to scent his mate nor did he expect to like Laurel and Thomas so much. I found Laurel and Thomas adorable and loved how as time went on seeing Flint learn to love them like they were his own. They even made him open up his heart to the possibility of having children with Jenna even if they’re not theirs biologically, they could adopt as there are plenty of children that need homes. Cynthia is a complete rockstar being the voice of those who can’t speak and helping break up a child traffi*king ring and those involved so they can be brought to justice. I’m looking forward to reading Cynthia’s story next as she needs a happily ever after considering something bad happened to her husband that may have to do with her investigation and I’m looking forward to getting more of the cuteness of Laurel and Thomas. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
This is a very quick story. Jenna, a bodyguard nanny for 2 kids calls on her friend Guy for help. As he is a little banged up at the moment, he sends his business partner Flint. Flint is ex-military and thinks that this job will not be for him, until he gets there and realizes that Jenna is his mate! Now he wants to take care of this situation and be a babysitter bear for good!
The blazingly fast pace, hopeful tone, action oriented storyline with some steamy scenes and vibrant characters make this a very fast read. Just don't start it right before bed, as there aren't any good stopping points! We see some characters from previous Bear Creek and/or Bear Bluff in here. The best way to read these is Bear Creek, Bear Bluff (both in one compilation), Return to Bear Bluff (compilation), Return to Bear Creek (some in compilations, but there are a lot of these!), Silverback Bears and Second Chances, and a few other small ones, and this series. You don't have to read all of them to get this book, but it will give you a better idea of the whole concept. At the very least, you will want to read books 1 and 2 before this one. It is great to watch the storyline and characters intertwine and interact. Enjoy!
Kindle Unlimited purchase By Harmony Raines Jenna gets a call, from Cynthia, get the kids out of the house. She was hired by Cynthia to protect her kids and she was doing just that. After they are safely away from the house Jenna calls her Army buddy, Guy, to send her help to look over the kids. Guy knows the best man for the job, Flint. But Flint doesn't like kids. He's a bodyguard, not a babysitter. But he gets on an airplane anyways and meets Jenna. Jenna has been Laurel's and Thomas' nanny/bodyguard for about 3 three months. She's starting to feel part of the family starting to feel included in their lives. When everything changes in the blink of an eye. Flint is shown for a loop when Jenna turns out to be his mate. But who could ask for a better matter mate than Jenna? How she looks after the kids, would protect them with her life if needed. Yep just the woman for him. Great book, lots of twists and turns. Loved the chemistry between Jenna and Flint. Their joking manner was a welcome relief to the book.
It was an absolute pleasure to read this truly marvelous, heartwarming bear shifter romance. The plot is suspenseful, well-thought out & written. The characters are well-developed mature individuals, who have realistic expectations & individual traits. There is: an ex-army veteran turned bodyguard & a silver-back bear shifter (Flint), a human female nanny/protector (Jenna) on the run with two children (Laurel & Thomas), a caring mother & investigative reporter (Cynthia), various kinds of shifters, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, adventure, action, mystery, danger, threats, villains, child traffickers, attempted abduction attempts, law enforcement, corruption, fear, doubts, shock, fated mates, friendship, jealousy, memories, determination, investigations, warnings, verbal banter, conversations, plans, confrontations, arrests, happiness, love, some steam & a satisfying happy ending. I would recommend this bear shifter romance to people who enjoy reading this genre.
I enjoyed the book. There are a few passages in it that I thought could be written with more clarity. The images did not happen for me as they did not make sense. The trek across country could have been better. Playing in the woods when you are running from danger makes no sense. The ending when the bad guy shows up at Flints house when no one should know about him made even less sense. I usually love your but for some reason this story felt rushed and not well thought out. Maybe it's just me. I loved the snow bear angel. Using kids as a pawn to catch bad guys on a mountain in between snow storms when you are trying to protect them, made no sense at all. There were parts I really liked but too many parts that just did not cut it for me. I gave you a 4 rating even though I feel it could have been written better.
Jenna and Flint...Jenna was hired as a nanny with special skills to care for an investigative reporter's children. When Jenna calls her ex-police partner for help protecting the kids from kidnappers, ex-army soldier Flint agrees to help. When Jenna and Flint meet, bear shifter Flint realizes Jenna is the mate he thought he'd never have. Now, he has to figure out how to keep them all alive.
This story is a winner. It's action packed, suspenseful and full of great characters, including some familiar favorites. I'm really looking forward to reading more Bear Creek Protectors stories.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Babysitter Bear by Harmony Raines is Book 3 in the Bear Creek Protectors series. The stories are linked by characters and are more enjoyable if read in series order. But despite being part of a series, this book can be read as stand alone. Flint and Jenna's story is full of excitement, drama and the awkwardness of new romance complicated by being on the run. I really enjoyed this read. You can't help but want to read faster than you can flip the pages. A great addition to the Bear Creek Protector series and if you haven't read Harmony Raines before, a great introduction to her creative and loveable style.
I really struggled to finish this book which is unusual for this author. I had kept it for a holiday read but it let me down. The actual plot idea was good but just didn’t follow through. Started really well, fast paced and gripping but then I got so bored with the middle bit. Lots of travelling, motels and cookies for the children with little connection between Flint and Jenna. They both realised they were mates and that was that. The ending seemed to improve but just didn’t work for me. Arresting the bad guy will just allow him to get out and continue his vile trade. I was kindly given a copy by the author but read it though KU. This is my honest review of this book.
I have read the 3 books making up the Bear Creek Protectors Series (and hopefully more are coming). I am also the proud own of many, many other books written by Harmony Raines. The books are fun and Babysitter Bear is no exception. It is heartwarming and suspenseful and intriguing to watch the dance between Flint, the bear shifter, and Jenna, a former police officer. As always, I had difficulty putting down this book until I found out how the situation was resolved. Bravo!! Yes, happily ever after, and, no, not a soap opera.
Whenever I get one of this author's works I'm guaranteed a wonderful reading experience. This one was no exception. I love Bear Creek and it's inhabitants. There's plenty of action going on with a bear shifter, his mate and two small children. There's a child trafficking ring where the leader wants the two kids. The bears mate was hired by the kids mom to keep them safe and it takes the shifter to protect them all. There is some sexual content, but not a lot. Another good one for the author. Thank you.
Book 3 I was wondering how old they both was? Was it said and I missed it? There is A lot of talk about them being old with grey hair but still do that mean 50s( I'm 47 with no grey hair so how old are they) she is to fit for a women around 55 she could run with a bear? Plus how old is the children's mum? I guest her story would be next because we never got her love story but the kids have been through enough I hope the next book is not them on the run again.I thought she might get close to guy.
Jenna is an ex policeman that went into personal protection to help pay for nieces medical bills. The case she is working is a bodyguard to 2 little kids but as the bad guys come for the kids she has to escape them and keep the kids safe. She calls her old partner and he sends Flint a bear shifter to help keep the kids safe. Flint isn't sure he even likes kids and knows he doesn't want to babysit these 2 kids till he meets Jenna. I highly recommend this book and series. They are fun quick books.
Jenna runs with two children to escape a kidnapping. She meets up with Flint. Jenna is Flint fated mate. The characters in this story is a little older couple with graying hair that has given up on family being in their life. They are strong and able to keep the children safe until their mother is back to them. The storyline was interesting and exciting to read.
Flint did not want to go on this job to look after children but they needed someone to help keep them safe.. As Guy couldn't go help his friend who was with the children. Jenna has been asked to get the children out of the house as bad men are coming to get them, so she asks Guy if he can help & he send Flint. Flint was not looking forward to it but when he meets Jenna he finds out she his mate!
A nanny/protector had the children of her boss, she had to get them out of the house immediately and gone from the area. Within hours she was calling her friend a bear shifter because she needed help to keep the children protected. When she meets Glynn she knows the two of them will protect these children for their mother.
This is a good shifter romance. I like that it features an older couple, and thought they were perfect for each other. They fall in instalove, as is typical of shifter romances, but that was OK with me. I liked that they spend a lot of their time protecting two children, and making sure they are reunited with their single mom. I wish we could get a story for her now.
Harmony Raines did it again. Capture your attention to the very first page with a fantastic read packed with action, adventure intrigue and romance. Jenna needs help. On the run to protect 2 children in her care she calls in support. Little did she knows her life will change forever. Flint is a bear shifter call in go help protect 2 children. The last thing he expects is to come face to face with his fated mate. Very entertaining read. Highly recommended
Jenna is on the run with two children that she takes care of for their single journalist mother. She's being chase by some very bad guys. Flint is a bear shifter who has been assigned to take care of her and the children. He is reluctant until he realizes that she is his mate. Not only he has to protect Jenna and the children, but he have to tell her what he is. Fortunately she knows about shifters.
In order to escape the men following them, they must travel to a cabin in the mountain. They made some other shifters that are helping them because the children's Mother has the men who are in the business of child trafficking.
The characters are relatable and believable. The scenarios are descriptive and vivid. The plot is suspenseful with many twists and turns as well as being a fast paced book.
I enjoyed the book very much from this author as I have hurt her other books. I would highly recommend this book.
2.5 stars. It was a good story that could have been 5 chapters shorter. I got that the bad guy was well.. a bad guy by the fact that he was . I actually didn't need a 5 chapter rant about just how bad he was. I felt like it was the same rant on repeat, and almost dnf, until I checked the table of contents and realized I only had to suffer through two more chapters.
Another amazing book from Harmony. Amazing charactors and a really good story about child abductions and sexual slavery and a reporter who is trying to take them down while she has someone protecting her childern. She has help from the bear creek protectors and a race to protect the children at all costs.
Flint had given up on finding his mate and having a family but then he got the job of bringing Jenna and the children she was caring for to Bear Creek. He knew that she was his mate before she even opened the door. 💕💗💕
From there, their connection just got stronger and they both knew it. 💓
I love Bear Creek books. This one was no exception. Flint had all but given up on finding his mate. When Guy sends him on a case to help protect two children it's the last thing he wants to do. Jenna needed help getting the children she was protecting to safely. When Flint shows up he realizes Jenna is his mate. Plenty of action and suspense.
Another outstanding book by Harmony Raines. Her Protector Bears series runs right along side of her Second Chance Bears and intertwines characters from the other stories into these books. I just love that about her writing. This one is about Flint the burly army man who is gruff but turns out to be a real teddy bear. Must read.
This is actually the first I've read in this series. It was the blurb that stood out for me. I loved the suspense, the opening chapters really had me hooked. Wow, wish bear shifters were real. I'm off to read more from this series. I'm hoping Guy finds his fated mate.
Cynthia's job is to protect children, but when she is told they are in danger, she will stop at nothing to keep them safe. When she called an old friend to help, she didn't know she would end up meeting her mate. This journey of protecting the kids and getting to know her mate, was truly edge of the seat amazing.
Flint and Jenna are in a race against the elements and some very bad men while trying to protect two precious children. Finding love with your true mate under these circumstances can either tear you apart or make the bond much stronger. Read Babysitter Bear to see the results for Flint and Jenna.
Jenna is body guarding two children for an investigative reporter when she gets word to take them and run, she runs to an old friend, Guy , of Bear Creek Protectors, who sends Flint to help her.
Flint turns out to be a bear shifter, and she is his fated mate, so now they are on the run from kidnappers with two children, as they try to explore their bond.
Another great book in this series. If the author is Harmony Raines you know the story is great.Flint didn't want to become a babysitter but when he does his life is forever changed.
