Mrs. O’s cranberry pecan scones were Sandra’s favorite treat. A secret weapon, and he wasn’t going to bring a knife to a gun fight. He was bringing something much more powerful. Pastries.

If you are looking for a quickly paced, light, and amusing diversion with bits of small-town complications and angst mixed with a bit of steam, a lot of snow, and a HEA love story - then look no further. I have enjoyed all the lively installments of Shelly Alexander’s Red River Valley Series, each can be read as a standalone yet interconnect and revisit characters from past volumes.

This is a sweet, cute and sexy little nugget that managed to hold my attention despite the wicked book slump I’m in. Was it earth shatteringly good? Not so much, but it was certainly worth the hour plus it took to read it.
Sandra and Langston have had a super secret relationship since their high school days. Why, you may ask? Sandra’s dad was never the reliable sort and after she took the blame once for his unlawful behavior, her small mountain town jumped to judgement and has never quite let her live it down. How can she let the man she loves suffer by association?
For his part, Langston just wants a real relationship with Sandra without the sneaking around. He’s in love with her and doesn’t care who knows it. Can he convince her to come clean before she hightails it outta town?
If this were a longer story, I most definitely would’ve needed more depth. How did they first hook up, why was Langston ok with being a dirty little secret for a decade and how the hell did they manage to keep their relationship a secret? As it stands, those parts are mostly glossed over in the name of page time fir their present relationship. For the eight eight pages that make up this cute little novella, I was ok with the info I got.
Overall, I enjoyed the heat and sweetness It’s in His Forever brought to the table. The ending was never really in doubt but I ended up with a smile on my face and for a story clocking in at under one hundred pages, that’s really all I’m looking for.

4.5 - "It’s what we do…" Stars!
I love a novella, they are a great way to find new authors, and series, without making a massive commitment, and book five in Shelly Alexander’s Red River Valley series did just that for me.
"It’s never going to be over between us…"
It’s in His Forever epitomized pretty much everything I want in a quick read. It introduced me to the town and plethora of interesting people living there, as well as giving me a sweet, sexy and emotive story about two people, who although in love with each other, and have been for years, have a few obstacles to get over before they get their HEA. I think you also as a reader know you are onto a winner, when as soon as you finish reading you log into Amazon and one-click the previous four books of the series, so you can have a reading binge as soon as possible.
"You can’t keep carrying the blame on your shoulders for everything that goes wrong."
I loved Langston, and Sandra is the kind of woman you know you’d be friends with if you met her for real, one loyal to a fault the others loyalty a little misplaced, which leads to her being unfairly judged by the town. And being a small town, memories are long, and the reminders over the years many.
She wanted to spend a lifetime with him, just like this… in his arms. In his forever.
As I am sure you can guess, this novella was a reading win for me. I know without doubt I have found a new to me author who excels at small town contemporary romance, happy days all round! Even better, I have plenty of books to get my teeth into over the coming months.

Una novella muy cortita, pero bonita y bien contada. Iba sin expectativas, puesto que no conocía a la autora, y lo que me he encontrado me ha sorprendido para bien.
Nos cuenta brevemente la historia de Sandra y de Langston.
Ella organiza un evento en el pueblo de Red River Valley, tras el que, después de pensarlo mucho, venderá su tienda para trasladarse a otro lugar. Es la encargada de poner en marcha una competición de snowboard, y él es el elegido para ejercer de oficial de seguridad en dicho evento.
Ambos se conocen de antes porque en el pasado mantuvieron una relación muy intensa, la cual se torció por ciertos problemas que arrastraba Sandra en su vida. Pero Langston no ha podido olvidarla y sigue amándola, y ella tampoco a él, aunque trata de ocultarlo como puede (sin mucho éxito).
Él está decidido a demostrarle que aun existen muchos sentimientos entre los dos. ¡Y qué bonito el modo en el que lo hace! Me ha encantado Langston y su forma de tratarla, con mucho cariño, dulzura y sobre todo, pasión.
Es una novella muy muy sexi. La autora mantiene la tensión sexual estupendamente en todas las escenas de los protagonistas. Además, hay momentos muy divertidos y diálogos cargados de doble intención. Por otro lado, las escenas de sexo están muy bien escritas, son eróticas y apasionadas.
En fin, que It's In His Forever nos cuenta una historia de amor cortita pero sexi, dulce y entretenida.

I'm a big fan of this author and this series is a good one. I'm glad Langston got his HEA! I think it's a little unrealistic that their relationship could have been kept such a secret for ten long years- except from Miss Clydelle, that is. She is truly a great character throughout the whole series. As for Sandra, it was interesting getting to know her character; it's too bad she felt like such an outcast, especially because she was not guilty of the crimes for which she took the blame.
Overall, this was a sweet addition to the Red River Valley series.
I'm hoping we get to read at least one more RRV installment so we can learn more about Dylan.

Her organising this has bought loads of business to Red River benefiting the locals which helps to redeem herself to most, although she doesn't see that.
Langston is in love with Sandra and doesn't want to let her go despite her protests that it is over between them to save him from the shame of being with her except Langston knows all her secrets and knows she has nothing to be ashamed of.
Final thoughts
I received an early copy of this book but my views are unbiased. I really enjoy this series and I like the little town. I wasn't too keen on Sandra, she was a bit too martyr for me but she did a U-turn and did realise she was being silly and the town wasn't as against her as she had thought(or how they had been anyway). I liked their romance and I thought Langston was sweet and probably quite a catch if he was willing to be in the background for all those years.
It was quite difficult to get the flow of things but I think that was just because my copy wasn't fully edited, so I won't let that affect my rating either. Knocking a star off because I wasn't as in love with Sandra as I think I have been with the other heroines in this series. This is a nice fifth edition to this series!

Can a broken heart and a bruised ego be healed by a secret romance? Or will pride and pain destroy something that could be beautiful? Shelly Alexander has done it again. She puts her heart in it and walked away with mine. It's in His Forever, could be touted as another sad love song, instead Langston and Sandra become a redemption song. He's the hope she lost when the people she trusted labeled her a disappointment. She's the future he wants despite the odds that stand in their way. At it's most heartbreaking is when this story becomes the most inspiring.

What a great, sweet romantic read. I read as a stand alone and there was nothing that could keep you from doing the same. A wonderfully written book of long duration love that is sweet, honest and got a bit of adventure.

It’s In His Forever
is the fifth book in Shelly Alexander’s Red River Valley series. What I like about this series, in general, is that each book is the perfect option when you can only commit a couple hours to read. It is fast paced go through all the emotions, and you get through a complete story before you know it.
It’s In His Forever is Langston Brooks and Sandra Edwards’ story. This couple is in a relationship since high school, but Sandra doesn’t want anyone to know. She is afraid that her bad reputation, based on a falsehood, will be a problem for Langston. Langston goes along with the ruse even though he doesn’t agree with Sandra and wants everyone to know he loves Sandra.
It’s In His Forever is stuffed full with many components that make me swoon. I like the small-town setting. There are so many aspects of small towns that make them fascinating worlds for romance. Langston and Sandra are a loving couple with good chemistry. Langston works double-time trying to convince Sandra that they can make it. Sandra does her share of pushing away but it is out of love and her desire to protect Langston from, what she believes, is her lousy family history.
I enjoyed my time with Sandra and Langston and the other series’ characters that wander through the story. All of the books in this series work as standalone novellas. As I mentioned in the beginning, they are perfect for romance lovers who don’t have a lot of time but need a good story to before bed or anytime that your head calls for a book but your schedule only has a couple hours open. Give It’s In His Forever a go. You won’t regret it.

I've read this entire series, but this release has come so far after the previous ones that I thought the series had ended with that fourth book. Because of that lateness, unfortunately, I have forgotten many of the details of the previous books in the series, and felt pretty lost throughout this story!
If I ignored the entire "part of a series" component of the book, then it was a decent enough read, but there were a lot of ups and downs that didn't make much sense to me! I didn't get Sandra's reluctance to speak about her relationship with Langston, or her father's situation, even years after that event. It felt as though she enjoyed being a martyr! I hated how she constantly pushed Langston away, even though it was quite evident that none of her past mattered to him in the slightest. Langston was not without his own problems. I felt that he never fought for Sandra, let her slip through his fingers too easily. He didn't seem like a strong enough hero for Sandra.
The plot was decent enough, but it kept whipping between situations, and I started feeling lost between everything. It was a quick read, and on the whole enjoyable, but leaves me unsure if I would continue the series.

It was a secret because she didn't want to turn his family and friends against him because of his relationship with her.
She's now running an event which is huge for the town and will give her enough money to finally leave for good. She breaks up with Langston because he wants more and she just can't give it to him. He refuses to believe her and convinces her to take their relationship public. Once that happens he begins to see what she's dealt with over the years. The whispers and looks.
Their chemistry is strong but I was disappointed it took him so long to understand her struggles and he reacted badly when he found out about her plan to leave. He should have listened to her and understood. And, he should have figured things out a lot sooner than ten years. The same goes for other people who were willing to support her but either didn't step up or supported her in the shadows only. Why make her life harder when they could have helped make it better? Now, what's a girl to do? Stay or go?
Over all it was a sweet hot story with strong characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

It's In His Forever is the short(ish) story about Sandra, a woman who has tried to prove herself to her little town Red River, after a bad rap when she was younger. And the crazy part about that was that it wasn't her, it was her father, but she's never been able to outrun it, so she's always felt like the town outcast. Now, she's running an international sporting event there in order to get the hell out finally, except for one complication. She's been secretly seeing Langston Brooks for years. He wants more, but she doesn't want her baggage to tarnish his reputation, so she's called it all off now, since she's leaving after the event. Langston, however, isn't letting her go without a fight though, and as he's forced his way onto working the event, she can't get away from him or their chemistry. Yeah, he's something else, and he's playing to win now. So will he be able to get her to admit that she can't live without him? To admit to everyone that they're together? And finally get her to stay? You'll just have to read it to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

He is also the man she just broke up with after sneaking around for the last twelve years. Not because one of them was married. Not because they were ashamed. But because she didn’t want to tarnish his reputation as town hero and good guy. He hated hiding. He always wanted to tell everyone about their love. But now, it was over. That’s what she thinks anyway...
Langston is on a mission and if working along side Sandra was the way to complete it, so be it.
Overall...I thought this was a fun, sexy, and heartwarming story. It was short but it packed in a lot of laughs, heat, snow, and heart.
P.S I was so excited to see my name as a main character for the first time ever.

Red River is preparing for The Extreme Snowboarding Championship event. The event coordinator hopes to use this event to generate enough income that they can leave Red River. After years of being ostracized, this event seems like the perfect solution.
Problem is, the coordinator is out a safety officer, and Chairperson Clydelle took the initiative to invite the person perfect for the job, Langston Brooks.
Langston has gone along hiding a secret, for years. He no longer feels it's a good idea to keep that secret, and is willing to pull out all the stops to bring it to the light of day.
This was a quick, enjoyable read! Great characters who are likable. The story tugs at the heartstrings, and anytime a story can get your emotions involved, it's a great read.

It's In His Forever is a solid addition to the wonderful world of Red River Valley! While the novella focuses on Sandra and Langston's story, I was glad to see the previous couples make quite a few appearances.
The novella's got plenty of Shelly Alexander's signature sassiness, and I really enjoyed the quick read, but I think the shortness of the novella hurt the story a bit. Usually Alexander does a fabulous job developing characters (and Sandra and Langston are still well-developed), but the shortness of the novella understandably means these characters pale a bit when compared to the earlier novels in this series.

This is the second book in this series I have read and what a fun read it was. I liked how the author took two very broken people each in their own way and made them feel completely relatable and made them feel more like friends. The storyline was short, sweet and to the point but it was also a page turner kept you wanting to know what was going to happen next. I love small town romance and this book fit that perfectly. In the end there was on character who was super fun and quirky and totally had me laughing at it's antics, you will have to read to find out who only because this person played a hard head in the beginning and I don't want to give much away. This book does have sex in it so it may not be for all reads. Over all I would recommend this fun book.

I love small town romances where everyone knows everyone else's business. They're always full of secrets and fun, and this one certainly has both. Langston knows who and what he wants. The problem is the only thing she wants is get out of town and protect Langston from the scrutiny she's endured for years. The story is fast paced, and this couple has great chemistry even when one of them is determined to stay apart. The book does work as a standalone, and I'm new to this series, but after reading about this town, I now have a few more to add to my TBR list. All in all, another engaging and sexy romance from this author.

I just love books by Shelly Alexander and It's in his Forever just joined that long list. It's a sweet, fun, small town story. Sandra considers herself from the wrong side of the tracks but that hasn't kept her from making tracks to the bedroom of one the town's most eligible bachelor, Langston. They've been carrying on behind closed doors for years but for both it just isn't enough anymore. Sandra hopes that organizing a major international winter event will finally be her ticket out of town. The only problem is she will be leaving Langston behind which she truly believes is best for him. Langston, on the other hand, isn't going to give up without a fight.
I really enjoyed this story and the colorful characters of the town. It's an enjoyable read. My only complaint was that it wasn't long enough and I didn't want it to end. Great job!!

It's in his forever is a short story by Shelly Alexander. Even though it belongs in a series, it can be read as stand-alone. Langston and Sandra have been hooking up for the past eight years, but Sandra felt like Langston deserved better than the baggage she carried and broke things off. Now she is making plans to leave town and Langston has one final chance at proving her that she is the one for him and he doesn't care about what the others say about her.
Due to its length, the story doesn't dive deep into what drives the characters and why Sandra was so ashamed for something her father did. Fortunately, the romance was sufficient and I liked the little dose of angst it had. The story overall was good and well written. The author did a very good job with a book that's barely 100 pages long.

An ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. I believe I was contacted for the ARC because I gave 5 stars to Book 1, It’s in His Heart, which was a Kindle First in 2015 (I must have been in just the right mood). I’ve also read Book 2, which I borrowed through Amazon Prime. That one earned only 3 stars.
She’d flirted with all of his friends before they married just for show. To throw people off, so her relationship with Langston could stay off the grid.
So… this one. Hopefully the typos and other mistakes have been corrected now that the book’s been published; I tried to ignore those. It’s a very short novel, maybe even novella-length. As brief as it is, it’s still repetitive. That’s not the worst thing about it either. I found the premise and characters to be totally unbelievable, so much so that I couldn’t put it aside and enjoy anything else. Ok, there is this: the fairly short sex scene wasn’t badly written.
Sandra had let a few bitter people overshadow all the good folks in this town. Why hadn’t she seen it sooner? Before so many years were lost? Before the best person she’d ever met got hurt?
Why? Because she’s an idiot. Ugh! And he’s no better.

Sweet
I loved this story! I love a story when a prior vixen/villan is redeemed and for good cause. Langston I've always loved in the prior books of this series, but his love, support and affection for his woman were awesome.
I was actually in tears with the history "his woman" endured and to see all along she was remaining on the outskirts, protecting Langston while once again sacrificing herself. I don't want to say her name as that would be a spoiler. So glad her name was left out of the description. Awesome surprise, wonderful treat.
