Touch #6

Touching Ink

Rate this book
Cade Kingsley uses sandpaper to smooth the rough edges of the custom furniture he makes for his fellow kinksters. But no amount of manual labor can file away the splinters in his heart.

His friends are all settling down into blissful permanence with the submissives who complement their dominance. So by day, Cade tries to move forward too, with the sweet girl who’s slowly but surely worming her way into his heart. But by night, his dreams are filled with the boy he can’t forget.

Sometimes Daddy doesn’t know best. He needs his Littles to open his heart and show him the way to an ending that’s happier than he ever imagined.

The family that plays together, stays together.

(This book can be read as a standalone, but the author recommends getting the background story in previous books. This is the final installment of the Touch Series. DD/lg/lb, MF, MMF, MM. BDSM.)

I'm often stoically silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there's so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex. There's a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly. Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve. Additionally, I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.

Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.

I'm a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, and geeking. There's time for hockey and cupcakes, too. But mostly, I just love to write.

I feel like there isn't a lot of Daddy Dom books that involve M/M so I was more than ready to jump into this book after hearing about Cade in Look But Don't Touch and I am so glad that I did. This story actually involved a lot more feelings and emotions than I thought it would but it was a pleasant surprise. I loved the dynamic of the 'family' with Cade, Gabrielle and Dylan and of course the heat. Definitely not a book you want to be reading somewhere public. It's too yummy for that.

I can't wait to go back and read more of this series and get to now some of the other club members. I do think that this series should probably be read in order, but for me I was okay with skipping some books and wasn't very lost when reading this one. There are scenes where past books are mentioned that could confuse people though.

This book featured Cade, Gabrielle and Dylan. Like book 5 it had a bit more substance than some of the other books. I wish there had been more of Cade and Dylan though. As it was it was mostly Cade and Gabrielle.

In between some of the books, we get additional chapters on previously featured characters and this is where we meet Aiden, Greg and Angel - and where the connection to Auctioned comes in to play.

I've surprisingly really enjoyed this series as a whole. Overall I would give the series 3.5 stars probably. I enjoyed some couples more than others. 5 stars for the smut though. This was deliciously dirty and hit the spot.

The story of Cade, Gabrielle and Dylan who will be in an age play relationship. I have decided to push my boundaries in BDSM romance this summer and to be honest I haven't read any book about this kind of relationship before. A relationship that involves a family dynamics with a daddy dom and his two littles that behave like brother and sister.

4 Stars…

Hella filthy M/M/F ageplay novella, a decent storyline, and surprisingly - there was a fair bit of emotion packed into this one, too. More than the first 4 (I didn't read #5), but nothing over the top. Because lets be honest, you're not reading this hot little number for the character development.

Quote… You wanna put your hard little cock inside Daddy? Quote…

Overall…
Cara Dee writes awesome dirty, and (not to be all high school teacher about this but) she also keeps it informed and responsible.

I know this one ended happily, but I couldnt help but feel bad for Dylan in this one. It was frustrating that we saw him in earlier books upset almost heartbroken because Cade kept pulling away and wanted things open, so he did what he had to do to save himself and left. Then Gabrielle comes along in this one and Cade is still dreaming about Dylan daily, but has no such hesitation in jumping into something with her. Exclusively and serious. Then they both go and ambush him together. As a couple.

I loved Cade and Dylan in earlier books. I didnt even mind Gabrielle in them, as little as she was. I just think they were really crappy to him and it colored the rest of the story.

Cade is a bit more clueless than I thought. He almost doesn’t realize until it’s too late what he’s feeling for Dylan. He loves him but he fights it. It’s super annoying. Gabriella plays a pivotal role but if I’m going to be honest I didn’t feel their dynamic maybe because it was a novella and it was a bit rushed. I was meh on her. It’s weird. I love Mark, Lina and Brayden but Cade, Dylan and Gabriella was meh to me. Obviously, the scenes were hot. We never really got a 3 way full scene though. Ugh.

We do get Nick and Kayla’s wedding which was sweet. And the rest of the characters are there too.
I guess I was hoping for more with this book. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I just loved it. All the arcs were pretty much covered and delivered a HEA. I fell in love with all of the characters. I want to be a member of Switch and become best friends with them all.

I had high expectations for this book. Maybe that's why it turned out to be somewhat of a dissapointment?
Don't get me wrong, it's a great book, as is all of the things Cara Dee writes. But it was a little 'been there, done that' in my opinion.
She had already given us a poly relationship when she inroduced Mark and his kitten + Puppy in book two and three, so I had hoped this would be a m/m book since we know the author is excellent at those type of stories, instead with get another poly romance. Although granted this has Daddykink instead of BDSM, but stills feels a little the same for me.

Besides the beginning when we read about Cade dreaming of Dylan the feeling the Daddy has for his baby boy doesn't quiet come through, unlike his interest and feelings for his Princess.
I wanted to read more about the two males, but that took up such small part. And I also felt as if alot of the background story when it came to them was missing.

What gives this 3 stars, pushing on four is that so many other lose ends were tied up in a nice pretty bow, like an epilogue of sorts, so that is how I choose to see this book.

I first came to know of Cara Dee thanks to her Touch series and immediately bought and read the rest of her backlist after reading all available books in the series. It was with much anticipation I awaited the release of Cade, Gabrielle and Dylan. I was especially partial to Cade and Dylan, though Gabrielle grew on me as I read (I just loved both buys more thanks to previous books). There was just enough drama and angst thrown into this trios story to keep me very interested (definitely added to my anxiousness as I waited for this to be released). Daddies/littles aren't a favorite kink to read for me, but it was fascinating watching the dynamics of it play out in this series. I thought this was a great end to a well-loved series and I'm looking forward to reading more epilogues for the series' characters in the future.

This is the first story of the Touch series I've read (other than Touching Truth from the complete series), so I didn't know the other characters other than the blurbs of the previous books and it was fine. You do obviously miss out of Dylan and Cade's background and Gabriella and her ex-boyfriend which is in other books, but it was explained enough that I got it.

I was in the mood for some Little stories and having both a lg and lb really piqued my interest and this story did not disappoint. It was hot AF!! Seriously this is some serious daddy kink!! Loved it. I really wish there was more with all three of them, the few scenes were crazy hot.

Loved the extra epilogue as well Winning Touch, it was a nice way to close up these three (although more more and more would have been nice)

I think this was my favorite book out of the entire series. I just loved it so much. It was not something I normally read and it definitely was out of my comfort zone but I guess that is one of the reasons why I enjoyed it so much

Cade Kingsley is missing his "boy" Dylan for the past three months since Dylan returned to Texas and won't return any of his calls and messages. Cade pushed him away when he thought that he didn't want an exclusive relationship but now realizes he made a mistake. But Cade is not the only one hurting and soon he sees that Gabriella misses Dylan too and is hurting without him.

But as Cade begins to help Gabriella pick up the pieces of her life he realizes that he has feelings for her but hasn't gotten over Dylan yet. When they learn the truth about what is happening with Dylan will they be able to convince Dylan to come home with them?

This book was one of my favorites in the series although it deals with a dominant Daddy/little girl/ and a middle boy. Some of the sex scenes still were weird to me but once got past the "scene" I enjoyed the relationships that were developing.

I wasn't too sure on how I felt about Cade due to the way he was shown in previous books but I think he ended up being one of my favorite Dom's at the end. I liked the way he was able to help both Gabriella and Dylan pick up the pieces of their lives by caring about them and making them feel comfortable.

Gabriella was rebelling from her previous relationship and she found herself in so much trouble and that led her to Cade. The two were able to develop a relationship gradually when both realized that they had feelings for the other. She was able to get herself refocused on what she wanted to do thanks to Cade and his support.

Dylan was one of my favorite characters and in this book everything he has been striving for is taken away from him and he feels as though he lost it all. This book really looks at his emotional lows and how he is struggling to deal with it all. When he opens up to Cade and then to Gabriella you can see that he needs the love he has been missing and also needs to know that he is accepted for having feelings for more than one person.

I hope that Cade can get through to Dylan and refocus his dreams!

3 out of 5 ☆’s.

”Yeah, at fucking last. Everything is the way it’s supposed to be.”

ੈ✩‧₊˚

Well — I will say that I did enjoy this novelette a bit more than its predecessor.

I had high hopes for ”Touching Ink” — but there were an abundance of moments throughout the story that frustrated me immensely while reading.

ੈ✩‧₊˚

I felt bad for Dylan throughout the entire novelette. I thought that his feelings were completely valid (given the fact that Cade essentially got cold feet and tried to pull away from their relationship) so I wish that he wouldn’t have acted as though he was being nonsensical, and would’ve stood his ground a bit more regarding his feelings on the matter.

Something else that bothered me was the way that Cade + Gabriella’s relationship formed. While I could see this trio brewing in previous novels, I would have preferred for Cade to have made amends with Dylan before pursing a relationship with Gabriella. I understand that there are page constraints considering the fact that these are all short stories — but Cade’s reluctance to commit to Dylan rang insincere when he was able to offer that commitment to Gabriella mere months later…

It’s also worth mentioning that Gabriella was close friends with Dylan before he left for Texas (to heal from his broken relationship with Cade) — but then she enters into a relationship with Cade and it doesn’t seem as though she really cares about that? I understand that Gabriella and Cade had their own bond before Dylan came along — but showing up unannounced & hand in hand on Dylan’s doorstep (knowing how he felt about the situation with Cade) just felt rude to me.

I’m glad that everything ended up working out for all of them, though!

Cade kingsley et Dylan et Gabriella
Daddy et little (s)
MMF

This should really be read as part of the series because at the start of this book Daddy Dom Cade is alone. Little Dylan is living in another state and has cut off all contact with Cade and Little Gabrielle has been treated poorly by her last Daddy and is lashing out at the BDSM club and needs help.

Cade takes in Gabrielle and they begin a tentative 'relationship' but Cade is still pining for Dylan. (And so is Gabrielle) When Dylan is hurt they go get him and try to coax him to come home.

I'm fascinated by the dynamic between Daddy Doms and Littles. I wish this book explored the threesome dynamic a little more because that is what I wanted to read about. There is plenty of Daddy/Little sex and dirty talk. Mostly MF and some MM and while they technically do have sex together it's never really MMF. If they do, then it's off page.

The epilogue is only weeks later but there's a note at the end about Cara releasing the whole series together with more epilogues. This both frustrates and excites me because I'll most likely have to buy books I already own to read them.

This whole series has been 3-5stars. Not really hit and miss. More like hit and sometimes I just wanted a little more. That's the case with this book. I needed more. It all seemed so easy. Very little angst. Daddy swoops in and makes everything better. But that being said it's still a sweet book.

I liked this story a lot and loved parts of it, but I guess my expectations were very high because I loved Dylan so much already from the previous stories that I expected so much more from this book.
Gabriella was a nice addition but I was really only there for Dylan and Cade. =P

Dylan was in Texas and heartbroken over his break-up with Cade.
Gabriella was rebelling since her break-up with John, and Cade took her in to helped her get on the right path again. They already liked each other so it was just a question of when they would get intimate. Add Dylan into the crowd and you had the perfect mix of Littles and Daddy Dom.

It was a nice story because I was eager to know more about the characters since I met them so I liked it, but all in all I wasn't as satisfied as I wished.

MMF - story of Cade, Dylan and Gabby. Definitely good - only little hitch or small issue I had with this one was with how quickly Cade jumped in with Gabby when he had just pulled away from sweet Dylan a few months prior ☹️. NO worries though - all ends well! Happy Ending and they definitely have some hot times together!
