Will Adrian one day understand that our girl can be a little troll? Probably not. In his eyes, Thea can do no wrong. You would think, since he works with kids, he’d see the difference between her anxiety issues and a well-planned tantrum to get what she wants, but whatever. It’s okay. I can be the disciplinarian, I guess. He’ll continue to make funny faces with her and tell her to be good, and I’ll make sure it happens. Like a boss.
My li’l gangsta isn’t the reason I lose sleep a couple days of the week, though. It’s work. Wednesdays and Thursdays can blow me. On the flipside, it feels hella good to have these mundane problems. Makes me feel normal. Of course, that’s until my buddy tells me I’ve waited long enough and it’s time to turn my boyfriend into my husband. Then I start losing sleep ‘cause I’m a fuckin’ head case of nerves.

I'm often stoically silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there's so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex. There's a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly. Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve. Additionally, I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.
Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.
I'm a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, and geeking. There's time for hockey and cupcakes, too. But mostly, I just love to write.
Ah so sweet and romantic! Just what I needed from Dominic and Adrian! I wished it would of been longer but I can understand it’s just a quick read to see how my beautiful guys are doing in their relationship. Also I wanted a bit more of them alone, but I know the youth center is so essential for Dom/teach it could never be just them without those kids that mean so to them. Overall I loved seeing them more in love than ever and the romance it definitely had me teary, the happy kind tears. Sigh!♥️
Oh how I loved catching up with Dominic and Adrian and Thea too. Dominic and Adrian are one of my favorite couples. Who knew Dominic had such a sweet and romantic side. It was all perfect!
Well, first of all: I STILL LOVE DOMINIC SO MUCH. He was utterly adorable in this. I love him as a dad to Thea, but he's also such a cute boyfriend (and now fiancé) to Adrian. He's still such an endearing softie with a lovable amount of attitude and a true heart of gold. The way he talks is somehow also so damn addicting. This man has generally just stolen my heart, I swear.
I loved his proposal to Adrian. It was so good, and by the end of it I was just a giant puddle of mush. Imagine someone doing all that for you: I would cry. So sweet.
Now, I do have to say that although I thought it was interesting to read from Adrian's perspective as well with this novella, I wish his chapters would have only stuck to his interactions with Dominic and Thea. I honestly wasn't very interested in his teaching position or his war on drugs. I understand he's doing important work with those kids, but I didn't find it very intriguing (unlike when Dominic interacted with them) and I even got a bit confused with all the different names and home-lives. I hate to say it, but these parts without Dominic or Thea in them were very boring to me.
I suppose I simply didn't find Adrian as interesting a person and found his relatability to the struggling kids to be lacking, and in general, I wasn't feeling the rawness and individuality here that we got with Dominic.
All in all, Dominic has become one of my favourite characters, Thea is one of the most adorable kids I've read about in books, and although my connection with Adrian was never really there, I still love his relationship with Dominic: they're very good together, and it is obvious that they love each other so much!
'Camassia Cove' series: 1. Home - 4.0 stars 6. Out - 4.0 stars 7. Power Play - 2.5 stars
A totally sweet novella, but with a bit of an edge, because... Dominic.
Long story short, Dominic was extremely grateful for his and Thea's new, vastly-improved life, and wanted to take the next step in making his relationship with Adrian more permanent.
Marriage proposal anyone?
Yes, this was a Big Gay Proposal story, but that didn't set my teeth on edge this time, as they generally do.
After several books into the series, I loved revisiting Dominic and Adrian, and several other characters from the series.
I really wouldn't have changed a single word in this story.
Sleepless was a brief look into Dominic and Adrian's lives one year later since becoming a couple, into a moment that was both cheesy and cute, and yet, still so very romantic and sweet. I liked that we got to Dominic a lot more settled in his life with Thea and Adrian. 🩷🩷 Dominic is so endearing in his affections and even if the sex was still as hot as ever, it was their terms of endearment and affection that they expressed afterwards that stole my heart. 😊
And his proposal! Too cute! 🥹 Dominic really went all out to prove his love for Adrian and getting everyone involved, albeit a grandiose gesture, was something that Adrian deserved to have. Reading Adrian's reactions to each moment was totally worth the while, to see how much care and meaning Dominic put into expressing his love. 🥰
I didn't mind so much that we got to see a little more into the work Adrian does at the youth center, because I guess this was the author's way of giving us a little more introspection into what he does for a living and how much the kids there appreciate him, in every way. 💕💕
What I do find annoying is having Cara Dee continuously overlap her characters from other books. 😒 I understand that she's proud of her characters, and perhaps, by mentioning them, she can get new readers to be interested in them, too. But, the amount of time dedicated to giving me a past history lesson into their lives could serve much better, by giving me more of the pair, I am interested in. Just saying.
And here I was thinking my heart was already full with Dominic and Adrian’s love 🫶 This sentence is so them and their love 🥹
“I love you with everything I am,” I whispered into his hair. He looked up at me with a sleepy, perfectly satisfied smirk. “I had a lotta help.” I shook my head and stroked his cheek. “Doesn’t matter. That you went through all this for me…? This isn’t your kind of thing, sweetheart.” “At the risk of sounding cheesy as fuck, putting that smile on your face is my thing.”
Loved to read Adrian Pov, we didn’t get that in Home. These man are such treasures ❤️
I could probably read an entire series about Adrian and Dominic and still want more. This was SO SWEET. Nothing gets me in the feels more than a genuine and unique proposal. I adore Dominic so much and he deserves all the happiness.
Loved this return to Adrian and Dominic. Dominic is still killing himself with work, Adrian is trying to keep his students in line and in school and both are still committed to time at the Quad. Thea is growing up and her world has expanded and blossomed. Adrian is wrapped around her little finger. Plus, who doesn’t love a proposal and Dominic makes sure it’s perfect. Wonderful!
Sleepless has one of the most romantic proposals I've ever read. I usually hate public proposals, but I fucking loved this one. Well done! Spending time with Dominic and Adrian is always a joy and Thea is as adorable as ever.
Wonderful sequel to Home. Dominic and Adrian after some time together. There's talk of marriage but Adrian knows Dominic needs to come around to the idea in his own time so in a few years...
Dominic's surprise is all the sweeter when it comes. Those who've read Home, must read this one.
A super aww-inducing, sweet, and hot follow-up to the 1st book in this series. It's a freebie off Cara Dee's site and well worth reading if you're a fan of the first book. :)
I loved seeing Dominic & Adrian living together and how much heart Dominic put in his proposal for Adrian. It was so sweet. ♡ With the rest of it, tho, I was pretty bored, tbh.
**************** Camassia Cove Series:
Book 1 - Home - 4.5 stars Book 1.5 - Sleepless - 3.5 stars
So, my only complaint (if you wanna call it that, because I didn't actually mind, it was more of a...suggestion?) about book 1 had been the fact that we hadnt had access to a lot of Adrian's backstory. As Adrian's POV is introduced here, that changes. We get to know him a little better.
And that's great, I love Adrian. He's that character that seems unrealistic if he's out of context. "How could someone so selfless and maybe even flawless exist?", but that's not the point. Adrian is a concept, to me, representing all the people out there whose life really is complete by helping people like Dominic. And those do exist.
Was that a mini rant? Oops. Anyway, this short follow up to book 1 was sappy and sentimental and perfect and I have to study but now I don't wanna. Adrian would be lecturing me. I wouldn't mind.
This made me happy. It was cute, short and beautiful. Here we revisit Dominic and Adrian. They’re really cute, and I enjoyed reading about them again.
I liked how Dominic proposed. The mini movie and it being at the Quad. It was very thoughtful and sweet. I also loved reading about Thea. She’s freaking precious.
We also got introduced to Zach and Henry. I liked them. Someday I’ll read their book.
That was cute. And a really romantic proposal, something I've never expected from Dominic. Heh Same as Adrian, he wasn't expecting that too. It was fun to read and see how their life changed and how still strong their relationship is. And to see Dominic a changed man. Adrian and Dominic are amazing together.
