This book is a decent overview of the Germen Expressionist movement from the beginning of the 20th century. It's a decent book to consult if you want to know who the major figures of the movement were and what their art looked like. But with all old art books, there's a problem with the reproduction of the art works, namely the black and white illustrations. This isn't a problem with the woodcuts but
it's especially annoying because the book keeps talking about the artists' use of color. There are a few color reproductions and they do look nice, but I'm sure there are better books on the subject out there.
