First time author for me. Enjoyable love story with professional AA hero and heroine. Good character development, WITH back stories, which makes any story more enjoyable.
Ben and Tamara hit it off by crashing a wedding, then into each other head on in a steamy one night of passion. Little did Tamara know, she'd be seeing him sooner than she ever thought.
I liked that Ben sought Tamara out. Wanting to continue their connection and not just the sex part. He genuinely liked her and wanted more of just her. I'm glad he was open about how dysfunctional his parents relationship was, yet glad that he had his Uncle and cousins to learn from and lean on during hard times as a child and adult. Although I understand his father's Love for his mother, I'm glad he wanted the best for Ben and pushed him to have his own business and path in life.
Tamara was a bit frustrating to me. I think that her jaded childhood had way too much effect over her adult life and that was sad to read about. I am glad that she took it upon herself to be open with Ben and to call him out for not disclosing his business venture with her.
One thing I really liked about these 2 was their drive. They were both focused on business and that was so inspiring to me.
Although a bit sappy at times, this was a good read.
There were aspects of this that I enjoyed. I chuckled out loud a couple of times. However, for me it kind of went on a while with me wondering if anything was going to happen, then we get to the seemingly-forced conflict towards the end. Tamara was okay but wasn't my favorite. I liked how direct and intentional Ben was. Them together...I only kinda bought it.
This story was cool but I felt it could've been fleshed out way better. The pacing just seemed off. And the editing issues throughout were too noticeable to ignore. I liked the idea, but unfortunately not the execution.
Real grownup love that is realistic and believable
At first, I thought this was going to be your typical romance love story that I enjoy to read, but boy was I wrong. Tamera and Ben are working adults with grownup issues. As an AA woman sometimes you don’t know how to take down when love hits you in your face. Ben understood exactly how to break down those walls with patiences, understanding and love. Ben has is own struggles to deal with once Tamera’s walls are down. This is a good read with reality at it’s forefront.
The story is actually pretty good. I liked the characters and the obstacles they had to overcome from their family history in order to move forward with their own relationship. The two star rating is because of the unrelenting poor grammar and the many misspellings. The author constantly uses the gerund as the verb of a sentence, but that creates an incomplete sentence in each and every case. Very poor editing. If the author could improve her grammar, I would love to read more books by her.
Wow, what can I say!?! I absolutely enjoyed every minute of Ben and Tamara's story! I love black love! And I love reading about it! Intelligent, well rounded characters who aren't perfect but that's exactly what endeared me to them. Real life tests and trials of love, trust and perseverance. This is the first story by Taylor Love but it certainly won't be my last. In fact I'm getting ready to purchase the next story in this series!
I enjoyed Tamara & Ben's story! I loved seeing how they connected as wedding crashers and having instant chemistry. But I liked the realism of how that instant chemistry leveled out to a solid relationship over time. Glad they found a way past their individual hang ups to make something lasting. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
This was a good book. The author took time to develop the relationship between Tamara and Ben. They worked out their family issues concerning relationships. They listened to someone's else POV on what they weren't thinking about. Ben and Tamara were out of their comfort zones. Boa was a good addition to the mix.
Whew, Tamara was frustrating. Wow, she had a ton of issues. It was hard to believe that Ben would have really fallen so hard for her. She had reservations about EVERYTHING! It just didn’t seem realistic that she just up and saw the light without getting some intense therapy.
Nice love story, it was enjoyable but I feel that it was lacking a true conflict that would have caused the almost breakup that happened. The conflict was really something that could have easily been avoided which made it feel forced just to have something to bring the couple together at the end. All in all, it was still a likable summer read.
I could not put this book down. The love Ben and Tamara share is wonderful and hard, which love is at times. I love how the realized how past traumas still had an impact on their thoughts and feelings. Along with supportive family and friends who helped them see what they have.
Loved the chemistry between the two characters. This a great romantic story with love, respect and realistic example of communication issues between couple based on their own parents dysfunction marriages
Love the way the story began. Ben was a manly man that won Tamara 's heart. He accepted Tamaras doubts and did not let it fiercer with his feelings for her. I loved how the characters evolved with the help of friends and family.
The story was good, it was wordy at times, and lulled a few times. Overall, the story was good. It was about a couple who crashed a wedding together, and later fell in love.
I love the way that Tarmara and Benjamin met. The chemistry they had was awesome. I like how they both had good jobs and how they worked out their differences and found true love. Well written book.
Ben and Tamara both had issues from growing up in their family but trust and communication was what they needed. I'm so glad that they finally figured it out and worked on being together.
This was my first time reading this author work and I enjoyed it. I love the chemistry between these two characters. Both had childhood family issues and they did there best to work through them. I was rooting for them.
Cute read. I enjoyed this book. I loved that the characters were grown and acted as such. It’s nice to read about grown folks navigating love and relationships in the second third of their life. Definitely relatable.
I got this book free from pacific works. It's the first time I'm reading a book from this author and I find it's interesting so I'll check out more of work. Short and steamy
This book was just ok for me. The love story was genuine and had some nice steamy parts but not very exciting as I expected. I love to read series books so I will read book # 2.
