When the last vestiges of civilization crumble, who will prevail?

Over two years have passed since Bree and Nate disappeared—and much has happened in the meantime. After leading a nomadic lifestyle for several months, they have started to rebuild a semblance of normalcy, moving between several established camps as the seasons change. Life is simple—hunting their own food, building weapons, even growing produce. Far away from the security of the settlements, they take care to stay unnoticed, and, if the need arises, cull the odd horde of shamblers.

Until one night, their idyllic off-the-grid lifestyle comes to a sudden end when they are overwhelmed and captured by forces unknown. Will they manage to escape? And at what cost?

Nice series. Lots of well written, exceptionally smart character development. Only thing that would have made it better for me is more zombie action, specifically in this last episode. Also, the never ending iterating of the meanings of character dialogue with (to name just a few) the following verbatim inner thoughts written and/or narrated for the readers benefit: "I quipped," "Nate griped," "He growled," "He conceited," and on and on (throughout the entirety of the series) was not necessary, and I think the reader could have inferred the meaning without the constant telling of how each statement should be perceived. It became quite annoying and does not give the reader/listener credit for being able to discern the author's intention for themselves.
Other than that, I thought this last book wrapped up the Green Fields series nicely.

Oh NO! Only two more books til this series over.

Absolutely so worth waiting for. An unput downable read. The title says it all. The book so much more. It is as exciting as driving downhill in a land rover and as exhilarating as battling shambles with tactical tomahawks. Bree and Nate never been so far apart and needed each other so much. Old friends, new enemies - Adrienne Lecters' masterly storytelling brings these new chapters to life for everyone to appreciate and enjoy. Best days reading since GF9.

I have to be honest. I really didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others. I just felt that the story didn’t really progress that much and it dragged in a lot of places.

I wasn't sure what to expect at the end of Green Fields book 9. Bree and Nate turned their backs on everyone and put themselves first living two year in the southeast US. Tired of rallying battle cries and solving the apocalypse problems, they are taking the easy road for once.
OR ARE THEY.
PLOT TWIST..

You never really leave the military right? Nate certainly doesn't. Secrets and deception is his second nature. Bree, loving him dearly, doesn't spot the deception until they are kidnapped by a well militarized force and taken to a camp. Of course, Lecter ensures that Bree's character is once again underestimated and allows her escape into none other than Red, Cole and Hill, her secret mission teammates.

As Bree races against time to save her husband, Nate's character evolves into one we haven't yet seen. For many books in this series, he has hidden behind his figurehead of a wife. Trying to avoid being noticed, until he no longer can. Lecter takes us back to the gory, glory days of Gladiators as Nate fights the system to survive until Bree can save him. Upon her return, Nate is unrecognizable and salivating for revenge.

Lecter just takes things a step further... I was truly thinking after Book 9 that Lecter would have a hard time bringing this group back to life. Nate and Bree have been through the ringer. What was left? Well, Lecter had a whole lot still up her sleeve apparently! I've read my fair share of zombie novels, but none that continue to unravel in such a way that it keeps me guessing what's next. Knowing there are two books left in this series definitely keeps me one clicking.

Better and better

Just when I think this series can’t get better, it does! This is by far one of my favorite series ever. Bree is my book heroine “crush”. Seriously. That chick rocks. And Nate - this book gives us a little more of a peek into Nate Miller. We not only see “THE Mr. Badass of the apocalypse”, but also delve into his vulnerable side. I fell a little deeper in love with him in this one. All the gang are back together again - Pia, Martinez, Romanoff, and Burns! I just can’t help but feel sorry for those readers that stopped reading after book 6! They missed soo much awesomeness!

Great read!

Another brilliant book! I absolutely love this series, Adrienne has created this amazing world full to the brim with so many characters that each book doesn't seem long enough , im always wanting more of their story. This one doesn't disappoint, more witty Bree and a different side to Nate. Twists and turns in the plot as standard. Sad to see the series is almost over.

Visceral book to satisfy everyone

Lecter delivers yet again with a raw and carnal book with my favorite character. What could be better than a zompoc with love, sex, bloodshed, and tears? The author has the ability to take us all into the lives of the characters as if we were surviving with them. This book was one of the most satisfying while keeping you on the edge, devastated, and shocked. Definitely a great addition to this series!

Love all of the green field books can t wait to see where bree and nates story goes next. If you like p a fiction give it a try. Definitely a twist on the traditional zombies. One that actually works and makes sense. Also has something for everyone.

Give it a try. Awesome zompoc. Twist on the traditional zombies but one that totally works. Little bit of violence zombies romance friendship. You will fall in love with these characters and want to know what happens next.

Ms. Lecter has a truly strange imagination. Bizarre could also be included in this description. But above all, I find myself believing that all this could be possible. Our heroine, Ms. Bree Lewis is a fascinating protagonist who has fallen in with some very special people with special talents and a lot of nerve. The trip through post-apocalyptic France during the winter is chilling. A fun series that has kept me glued to my Kindle.

Phenomenal!

As always A. Lecter delivers a nonstop ride. Since this is only the pajama apocalypse I definitely prefer to be Bree and Nate’s comrades of the lucky 13! The depth of character development is awesome throughout. I can’t wait to see what’s to come of Greene and his lot as well as what trouble our main folks can get themselves into and of course back out; even if it involves some new scars and mayhem to match.

Love this series!

What can I say about Bree and Nate? Two of my favorite antiheroes. You will love them and their intense challenges at surviving the zombie apocalypse while trying to help create a better world for all. While this is much too simple of a way to put it, this series is a must read! Plus love having a female kick ass!!

This writer is the best! Her characters are so real (like got a crush on Nate, real) and style of writing is so articulate and holds you on the the edge throughout the whole story. Time has no meaning while reading her books. Can't wait for the next one!

Fantastic, totally captivating, each book brings new dimensions to characters that you find yourself emotionally involved with, almost like a guilty secret. So until the next chapter...... thank you Adrienne Lecter. X

Love this series!

The shoe is on the other foot in this book, but the nature of man shines through as usual. The good, bad, and the ugly, but seriously? Who is who? As much as I hate for this series to end, I cannot wait for the next chapter.

Can’t get enough!

I cannot state enough just how great this entire series is. Nonstop action, humor, intelligence, death & destruction, and of course, zombies! What more can you ask for?
Waiting impatiently for the next book...

So good

Another great book from Ms. Lecter. This series consistantly delivers, remains fresh (at least the plot does, there's nothing fresh about the zombies or some of the happenings), and the characters remain likeable or deplorable as the case may be.

Wow

So if you’ve read the rest of the series you will have noticed that the main characters have been suffering for awhile now and things don’t get any better in this book. But wow what a wild ride! Prepare yourself for hell on earth!

Long, slow moving

Felt like filler. Little plot movement. Sad, as this has been a very good series. Fingers crossed for the next.
