April Fernsby lives in the north of England in a county called Yorkshire. Yorkshire has its fair share of hauntings and supernatural events, including a witch called Mary Bateman, aka The Yorkshire Witch, whose skeleton now hangs in a local museum.

April loves all things supernatural and mysterious. Her favourite book as a child was ‘The Faraway Tree’ as it took the reader into a different world where unusual creatures lived. April looked for a similar tree near her house but never found it.

Her Brimstone Witch series involves the main character, Cassia Winter, going through a cellar door and into another world where magical creatures live, and mysteries abound.

The Missing Unicorn (A Brimstone Witch Mystery Book 12)
by April Fernsby is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. I have read all of these books so far and love this series! It is a clean fantasy cozy mystery with great characters, interesting plot and world, zany situations, humor, good clues, twists and turns, and a touch of romance. I normally don't stay with a series for 12 books but this series is lightheaded, heartwarming, great mysteries, and fun fantasy. This book has starts out humorous then gets more serious. Brimstone has a case of gnome throwing! Yep, that is a deadly thing if you live in Brimstone! Good thing they have a Justice Witch and her familiar cat to solve cases!

I devoured this book so quickly, there was loads going no in Brimstone and I loved seeing how it all connected together and the mystery of Sparkle City was fantastic. This has to be my favorite read of the books I have read in the series especially with how Cassia appears to have finally made it and people know who she is and will actually not make her life too difficult when she is trying to do her job. There are plenty of great twists, mystery and surprises that keep you entertained and a bit sad when it ends as you want to keep reading. I can't wait for the next in the series especially as there seems to be something up with Gran!?

Cassia Winters is the Justice Witch for
Brimstone. Stanley is her magical, familiar
cat who plays an important part in the story.
Cassia is sent to investigate the death of a
unicorn BUT when she and Stanley arrive
the unicorn’s body is missing!!! Is he dead,
wounded or has something evil taken him?
The investigation goes into full swing.
Zany, weird, quirky characters combine with
the Brimstone characters. Good and evil
magic fills the story.
The plot was intriguing with magical twists
and turns. There was a touch of romance.
An entertaining read!!
I volunteered to read The Missing Unicorn.
Thanks to Booksprout for the opportunity.
My opinion is my own.

Another amazing story

When Blythe finds a unicorn murdered, it sets off a chain of events that no one sees coming. And then the body goes missing. With the crime scene compromised, Cassia and Stanley have to enlist the help of others to help solve this case. Will they be able to before anyone else gets hurt? Or will the wrong person go down for the murder? This is the kind of story that you can't stop reading. It'll keep you so engrossed that you won't stop until you've solved it yourself. Excellent read. This series just keeps getting better. I'm off to the next. I can't wait to see what Cassia and Stanley will get up to now!

Great Book in a Wonderful series

I love all the books in April Fernsby's Brimstone Witch series. Seeing Cassia become an important part of the Brimstone community has been a lot of fun. Each mystery is a big question mark right up until the end. I enjoy getting to know all of the different beings that reside in Brimstone and the many towns Cassia and Stanley venture to!! A great read in a wonderful series.

Another cozy mystery I greatly enjoyed. This time the culprit and the motive made more sense than on previous books. It was a little too convenient as always, but that's just how these books work. Another strange case solved by Cassia and Stanley, and I liked how they're finally using what they havelearned from their adventures.
