The concept of Blue Lock is a very good one indeed! some 300 teenage football players are locked in enclosed arenas and fought each other until the last one standing!!!!! What is not to love here!?
Now off we go to vol. 2, the same-old, same-old, old-fashioned goodie named 'teamwork' is brought up to the table again and the MC and his makeshift 'teammates' must work together instead of just thinking about themselves and their own victory in order to fight against another team! Will the MC and his mates be able to break through and change from Zero to One, or will their dream of becoming the strongest player be crushed!?
So much excitement and I like the concepts (e.g. 'bring up your personal weapon to the field!') brought up by the authors! It's so refreshing!! Plus the artwork effectively brings the games to life!!!!
I like what I saw from this volume and I very much look forward to seeing how the MCs and Co. will evolve under the extreme 'dead or alive' (well...not literally) environment!
This moment. This moment was when I knew, this manga will be IT for me. I'm officially in love.
Personal Ratings : 5🌟 Chapters : Ch 5 - Ch 13
There's something about the characters that makes this manga so endearing. Its the way Isagi never fails to continue to strive, and that EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE TEAM is doing the same as well.
Again, the chapters here was so intense and yet, I finished this so fast, it didn't feel like I was going through several chapters. It just felt... complete.
The flow of the game, the intensity of the match, and the way Isagi slowly discovers his talents? It makes me want to give him a huge hug. I liked that he's competitive and his compatibility with Bachira is something. I can see that they will make good team mates with Kunigami.
You know you'll be hooked to the manga when a certain chapter caught your eyes, and for me, this one is it. Literally. So bloody good I was so satisfied after reading this! Can't wait for the next volumes >.<
KUNIGAMI OWNS MY HEART UGH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. how cute was that moment between him and isagi??? 😭
dare i say this early that i think this is going to be one of my ultimate favs. i don't want to jinx myself but OH MY GOD THIS WAS SO GOOD.
devoured in one sitting again (not that that's hard since these are so short but this series is addicting). that match at the end was so badass and they all looked so cool. 🔥🔥🔥
i liked how even when people are on the same team they're all still against each other- it just makes me question everyone and who you can really trust. everyone thinks isagi is one of the weakest, including himself. but the way his intuition is spot on and how he can observe everyone and the game, so well unlike anyone else there. he knows when a play is going to happen before it happens and he can read his opponents. in my eyes, he's really the secret weapon. he's just main character energy, it's as simple as that. i love him 😌
i'm rooting for them so freaking hard. i want them to win so bad AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Have no idea why I read the second volume of this considering I was just there for the vibes and seeing who is going to get points. It was entertaining in the end although I wish the story was honestly moving even quicker.
5/5 Porque aunque me confundí bastante con el sistema de puntos y reglas y demas, ISAGI DIOS MIO QUE MENTE QUE PASION, omg ya lo amo y al Bakugo 2.0 tambien 😍😍
Isagi becomes part of Team Z ..fighting their way through a group of round robin matches to survive into the next round or go home. It's all pretty intense as we delve into Football (not Soccer) tactics and players strengths.
woahh when isagi said "is this what winning is? it feels sooo good" i got CHILLS. i feel like he's finally starting to become what ego wants the boys at blue lock to be.
also as much as i love his friendships (if i can even call them that) with bachira and kunigami, i just can't help but think of the betrayal that's obviously coming in the future bc technically they're still rivals and it makes me sad 😭😭

Bordel. De. Merde. C'était INCROYABLE. IN-CRO-YA-BLE. LES DESSINS ??????????????? C'est passionnant et wow, je pèse mes mots. Je n'ai qu'une envie, c'est lire la suite !!!! Isagi, Kunigami, Bachira mes amours 💞💞
I am reading and watching this at the same time, because I understand hardly anything. I really like the effect of how the glowy eyes look in the anime when they get In The Zone.
this manga taught me more than my football physical education course (pandemic edition of course so i didn't really learn anything lol) ever had. excited to find out how isagi improves as a player in the next volume!!
4 stars *may change is this officially a binging thing because i’m ready to read all of these...also goodreads only has the japanese versions so i guess let’s pretend i read japanese
“When I was a kid, the ones I looked up to weren’t power rangers, or robots, or the pirate king. It was the strikers who would run around the field and steal goals to win.
Those soccer players weren’t fiction…they were real superheroes who gave me courage and excitement. And that’s the kind of person I want to be….Even if God told me it’s impossible or people laugh at me for being an idiot, none of that would matter.
For the sake of my dream, I’ll fight the world fair and square. There’s nothing embarrassing about that.”
kunigami, my love 😭😭 (and also isagi omg)
the first volume sped straight into the tension as these group of strikers were gathered to potentially bring japan’s national soccer team to the winning goal, but this one dialed it even higher!! in this series of games of the first selection round-robin tournament, these characters are truly being tested on how well they can use their individual weapons as a team, with their potential soccer careers on the line. it was all so thrilling, and developed isagi’s character at a speed that he might not have even expected himself.
i loved all of it, and one of my favorite scenes had to be the one shared between isagi and kunigami :’) it was a moment i was hoping for after the killer pass isagi gave to kunigami in their desperate attempt to get at least one goal, and it was amazing. everything else, chef’s kiss 🙏🏽
Sometimes a bit too much blabla or drama, but in overall, I love the action scenes, the trainings, the competition, it is on! The art fits so well with this sport and makes it all that cooler. I just love seeing them all go into their special mode/powers. And unlike real soccer this one really has some high stakes and I am curious to see who will stay and who won't. Well, OK, we know our MC will stay around, but who else?
