Received a copy for an honest review.
A chance encounter on a plane leaves Mac oddly off balance. He has never felt a connection like that before. Mara is different and he immediately senses that. When he leaves the plane he never expected to see her again but fate has placed them at the same hotel.
Marcella is struggling to figure out her life after her husband's death. She is looking for answers however she is only finding more questions. Her sister's are helping to open her eyes to the truth but a sexy stranger is definitely helping as well. When Mac shows up at her hotel she decides to go with it however her husband has shown her not to trust readily. Little does she know she is in more danger than she realizes.
Mac and Mara have extreme chemistry. The storyline is unique and intriguing. The only thing I could say negatively to be honest is the POV from character to character does not flow seamlessly and a few places I had to re-read to understand whose POV I was experiencing. Overall however even with that being said it was a good read.

This book has a great mixture of suspense and romance.
Trying to cope the suspicious death of her husband, Mara and her sisters take a trip to Mexico to spend time together and reconnect. On the flight down Mara sits next to an intriguing and sexy Scotsman who is also taking a trip for some R&R.

Mac is heading to Mexico for a little bit of business and pleasure. Working for British intelligence he rarely gets time off so it’s no surprise that his vacation requires him to do some surveillance and “babysitting”. Much to his surprise, the sexy woman he met on the plane just happens to be his target.

I loved the openness and vulnerability that Mac shows throughout the book. He is much more than the typical dominant, alpha male. If you’re looking for a romantic suspense with clever writing and interesting characters that I think you will be happy with this book.

Mac and Mara have an undeniable chemistry. The story behind the couple kept you on the edge of your seat with subtle mints to keep you guessing. Great story. Great plot. Relatable characters. What else can you ask for in a book.

I want to thank Kenzie Macallan, author and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for the eBook Kindle copy of Turths ~ Art of Eros ~ Book 1 or MBK Global Security ~ Book 1 that I won in the Giveaway.

Mac, a Scotish M16 agent and Mara met on the plane to Cancun, Mexico and made a connection that surprised both of them. They end up in the same luxury hotel where Mara is with her two sisters and taking a vacation to get over the loss of her late husband under questionable circumstances.

The romance turns serious as Mara faces her inscurities and with Mac's help grows stonger until he reveals his secrets, she is kidnapped and the danger increases...

I loved Mac and how strong, patient, and committed he was to helping Mara with her demons and then the resuce and security he offers her. I liked the growth of Mara's comfidence and the devotion of her sisters to each other through to the end. A wonderful romace with lots of danger and adventure.

3.5 / 5 stars

This book held a lot of promise for me, but managed to fall just short in a few areas. The strengths certainly lie in our hero, Mac, a Scotsman who ends up in the seat next to a terrible flier. He, of course, is not without is flaws... The entire time he's walking to his seat, it was as if he were marching to his death -- he saw the terrified woman sitting in the seat beside him and all he could think about was this was a terrible way to end the night of partying and women he'd had the night before. But... amazingly, almost, he finds himself entranced with the woman.

The biggest flaw, I would say, would lie in our heroine. Mara was a character who was battled and scarred, and she allowed it to rule her life -- for the most part. Her father belittled her, her late husband left terrible words in her mind... She had very little self-worth. However, in a point that didn't quite jive with this scared kitten, she had fiery, spitfire moments that almost rivaled her sister. I liked her best when she wasn't putting herself down; I enjoyed her talisman of a dragon she crafted; I loved the symbolism of said dragon throughout the story, even.

Mac and Mara embark on a quick romance. They both end up at the same resort; when they disembarked the plane, Mac left her -- he didn't get her resort information or anything. He knew she was likely to be special, but he let her go. So when he simply feels her near, surely their meeting was fated, right?

For the most part, this story was well-written. I enjoyed the plot line and enjoyed watching Mara learn to love herself -- albeit done quickly. The only other thing that bothered me with the writing style was the author's flip-flopping of view points (as well as some grammar issues {"her and her sisters went" really bothered me}). In one paragraph we would be in Mac's mind and immediately following, in Mara's. I personally need/prefer some consistency. I am hopeful that as Ms. Macallan continues this publishing journey, some of these things will be caught and fixed!

The next to fall on this Art of Eros journey is one of Mara's sisters... I'm curious to see how cool and calm sister, Leigha, handles falling (but it's Raquelle I'm most excited to watch).

When I started Riveted, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The main characters MacGregor “Mac” and Marabella are neighbors on a plane. I was thinking maybe a drunken hookup at the airport or a resort that leads to something more. But I can say that my expectations were off and pleasantly so. This is one amazingly written book. There are parts of this book that has action, creepers, and a sexy dance scene that allows the grieving Mara let loose with her sisters. I would also like to point out that Kenzie did a thrilling job at writing Brock. I hated his guts from the get-go as Mara remembers her life with him and I wanted to kill him slowly and painfully for what he did to her physically and emotionally.

This book is one that sucks the reader in emotionally. You feel for Mara and Mac as they expose their pain and loss. You also get drawn into their cat and mouse game of “Mac Says”. I got so into it that I could hear Mac’s Scottish brogue during his dialogue. I look forward to the next book of the Art of Eros series to see if she can bring the spice, life, and adventure into the next book. I hope it brings back Raquelle and Leigha and gets them hooked up with some sexy partners in crime and life.

The book does cover some tough subjects but they are dealt with well and I did enjoy the book, the main characters of Mac and Mara work well together right from their first chance meeting on a plane on their way to Cancun. The story builds at a steady pace and I found myself happily engaged with the book until the end. The only criticism I had was that it did jump from one person to the other in the way the story was told. It did take a bit of getting used too but it didn’t really detract from the story. I am looking forward to more from Kenzie in the future – 4 stars from me for this one.

The characters deal with insecurities, loss, abuse, danger, secrets, MI6 and Russians in this first book of the MBK Global Security series. Mac and Mara meet on the plane to Mexico. Mara is a sculptor but she doesn't trust men because of her husband who died. Mac was in the Royal Military but is now with MI6. Mara finally finds out who her husband really was and confides in her sisters while on vacation. Mara finds a man who truly loves and cherishes her beauty inside and out. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Romance, danger, and heart in every chapter!
From the first page of Truths, I was completely hooked! Mara’s journey from grief to love felt so raw and real, and Mac? Absolute perfection, strong, protective, but with just the right amount of vulnerability. Each book pulled me deeper into this world of high-stakes danger and passionate love. By the time I got to Masks, I didn’t want it to end. This series has it all, action, emotion, and sizzling chemistry!

Maybe too much description of hotel suites and meals; that space could have been used to further develop the main relationship, which felt rushed to me, especially with everything else going on in the story. There were some distracting editing issues; perhaps these have been corrected in later versions.

This is my first book I read and it will be hard to decide to read another. The book was too wordy. Mara and Mac monologue with themselves seemed a bit too much. I didn't like the ending because it hints to another book to deal with the bounty and Brock's deception.
I feel that all of her books will end like this with no closure to problems that arose in the storyline.

The story was good with well explained characters. However, the writing did not "flow"! There were so many short sentences that it bothered me! I'm no author/writer, but I do know how sentences can be arranged so that there is connection from one thought/idea to the next!

Mara is a lost girl trying to get over tragedy. Her sisters take her off on a vacation where she happens to meet Mac, a nice guy that she's instantly connected to. A little mystery and a little suspense get added into this love story.

I struggled getting into this book. The author does a great job with her description of the scenes, but it goes into almost too much description. I got too distracted by what color the counter tops were in the bathroom to relate to what was actually happening. I also couldn't relate to the characters; they didn't feel realistic to me. Their instant connection that was repeated over and over again was just too much for my taste. Their dialogue and inner monologues were those of a long relationship, when they had known each others hours-days. It was also difficult to follow the way it bounced back and forth per paragraph as to who's person we were in- Mara's or Mac's.

I'm sure there are plenty readers that can relate to Mara and Mac's story and you definitely should read it yourself to see if you're one of them.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

An incredibly descriptive debut with a powerful message of life after a devastatingly abusive marriage, Riveted is a sensual and witty tale of one woman’s discovery of self-worth and the ties that bind. Despite a few grammatical faux pas, Macallan’s descriptive ability and dynamic characters were outstanding. For anyone who has suffered emotionally at the hands of a loved one, this book is definitely worth a read.
