The dragons are now at war with the magin. Travin has been driven out of Dargyn and taken shelter with the enemy. Layinin is increasingly uncertain what they're fighting for.
Friend is pitted against friend and those who were once enemies will now have to work together to prevent all out bloodshed.
Laynin and her dragon Risper can end the war with a brutal attack.
The consequences will be something far worse than she's prepared for.
The dragons are now at war with the magic users. Travin Honsan looked up into the empty sky. A couple of hours had passed since Laynin Laithorn’s dragon Risper had appeared. If he had even called out a warning to them, he would have been killed trying to help a draakin. He had watched the archers shoot their arrows into the sky. He couldn’t see who rode behind Laynin, arms around her waist. Then King Tarlu Rosharias called the singers over and the magic they created began to radiate out from them to encompass those around them. Travin and even Rosharias were uncomfortable under the force of it. Risper trembled but turned and flew away.
Getting ready to leave, Kial was jealous that Laynin used to be Travin’s lover, even though he said she meant nothing to him now. He roughly responded that he hope that was true because he loved Travin and didn’t want anyone getting in the way of that. Travin was surprised at his declaration which made him uneasy. Kial’s look was predatory and possessive. Travin did not want to be owned by anyone. He hoped it was just petty jealousy. Wearing the red robes as Priests of Euru, they set out on their journey to Tsaisa. Travin only wanted to help bring peace, but this all could go so wrong.
Ara, the draakin leader, called a meeting to tell them of the attack by archers and singers on Laynin and Risper. She viewed that as an act of war. But the dragons will be used sparingly, and only when no further option exists because the goal is to end the war with minimal loss of life. The dragons are not killers. They will fight only to defend. Ara would continue to confer with King Drexin and General Sandvaal as they formulated their plans and tactics. Were they that close to all-out war? What about the innocent people that Rosharias had threatened with death if they didn't worship Euru and support him? Those people certainly did not want to fight against Ara; would they have a chance to run away and not be killed in an attack?
With war escalating, the suspense is stronger as both sides get into position. Travin may still strongly support the dragons he loves, but Kial may get in his way. What will the future bring to everyone? Grab your copy and stay on top of the strategizing as they prepare for battle!
