Learning About Archetypes

This is a really interesting book! Using Jungs concept of the archetypes, Andrews explains how archetypes affect our lives. Im not sure I understand how to plot the charts, but it's a fascinating book! I look forward to reading more by this author!

The book took my understanding of Archetypes to a new level. It was comprehensive and covered everything the reader needs to understand about archetypes. I found this book very easy to read. The book gave good instruction on how to do a reading for yourself. It encouraged me to learn more about myself and how I interact with the world.

This highly engaging and accessible book offers a powerful new way to reach your full potential. Mixing wisdom and fun, Archetypes Made Easy convincingly sets out the limiting roles we adopt - Servant, High Achiever, Victim, Perfectionist, Drama Queen, and more - and explains how to move beyond them into a more empowered and authentic version of ourselves. The book draws on Barb’s extensive experience providing over 20,000 archetype chart readings for everyone from corporate high flyers, to successful artists and senior academics. Compelling and generous, Archetypes Made Easy will change your life by changing how you choose to live it.

An important book that will empower anyone to drive positive change in their life. Easy to read and follow, the book offers an opportunity for the reader to shift their perspective about their life in such a powerful and positive way. You don’t need any prior knowledge about archetypes as Barbara has provided a simple and clear introduction into the levels of consciousness and the various archetypes that play out in our lives. Highly recommend to anyone who feels stuck in their life or is reliving the same old dramas again and again.

This is a book that will help you define where you are in life. It'll challenge you to be honest about where you have been, what you believe in and what you will do in the future. It gives you an opportunity to do a reading on your own. I wanted to read the book all the way through first. I am going to try that next. I am most definitely interested in the outcome. I highly recommend this book.

This book is an easy read. The explanations are clear and the case studies give you a great scenario on how the archetypes are played out. Barbara gives you the opportunity to discover the archetypes you are running and how they function in the positive or negative aspects. If you are interested in how you are relating to others in life, why you act out behaviours and want to empower yourself to be more of the "captain of your own ship", then this is a must read.

Archetypes Made Easy is one of those books that just keeps giving. It opens up the profound and rich world of archetypes, and offers all the tools you need to embark on your own journey of discovery. Barbara Stone-Andrews really knows what she is talking about, and brings this truth and knowledge offering to every page. It’s helpful to read so many real examples from her own life, and from the lives of many others, to show how the archetypes can be used to unlock the truth of who we are, and how we can grow. I’m going to use this book as a guide and reference, regularly checking the detailed descriptions of the archetypes as I do charts for myself and loved ones.

As the title suggests, it does make archetypes easier. With clear descriptions you can see patterns you either have yourself or can see in others. Great to take some time and reflect and make some changes.

This book is for anyone brave enough to really look at themselves on a deeper level and make positive changes to their life and in their relationships with others. As confronting as that task may seem, Barbara's simple explanation of the Archetypes allows the reader to feel completely supported and free from judgement.
There were so many wonderful aha! moments for me reading this book and I'm already observing the new found discoveries Barbara has kindly gifted us, and seeing myself in a new perspective. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in self -development.

"Our feelings are governed by the maturity or evolvement of our inner child. Sometimes the child within just wants to have a huge temper tantrum. Other times, the child within expresses amazing wisdom and clarity. We can swing from one part to another....If your inner child is immature, then you will find yourself reacting to situations with anger, frustration, resentment, and fear, perhaps even denial!"

I am glad this book wasn't only about archetypes - there was a large listing towards the end. The author explains how one human body is really split into the emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies of a person. Our core beliefs have more of an effect than our DNA. It's possible to have feelings that are so intensely negative that illness is created (even physically).

The lesson of discernment vs. judgment was important to me, as well, since I can be released of the burden of wishing someone off into metaphorical hell.

I like how the author weaved in examples of several archetypes throughout the book while explaining other subjects.

What I found most useful and interesting was the idea that every archetype has an unconscious/tribal/outer personal level, individuation/subconscious level, and the conscious/symbiotic level. Further, every person will have multiple archetypes due to the complexity of humanity.

I understand that I need to progress each of my archetypes that are stuck in the lowest unconscious level.

For example, one of my archetypes is the Child archetype. At the tribal level, this means the worst of Peter Pan. At the symbiotic level, there is empathy towards others and creativity in pursuing goals. She lists a set of questions that are basically honest about the reasons why a person with this archetype wouldn't want to move on.

This continues with all of the archetypes of which I counted just under 100. Yeah, almost 100 archetypes were given to choose from.

One thing I didn't agree with was the method of finding one's archetypes. It was a matter of shuffling archetype cards (bought or DIY) and choosing in a tarot-like manner. The astrological houses were also used. It's not my "thing." I rather read through each archetype and find the ones that resonate with me.

I think this was, overall, an easy and helpful look into archetypes and beliefs.

Very bad book

Nothing truly Jungian here. Nothing convincing like trying to good sell you something that isn't worth buying. Complete waste of time
