Lost Kings MC #12

Zero Tolerance

Rate this book
I’ve spent a lot of years as a hit-it-and-quit-it player only seeking a good time. As Vice President of the Lost Kings Motorcycle Club, willing women are never in short supply.
I never needed any of them for more than one night.
Until I met her.
My perfect woman. Like a damn mermaid, she was beautiful, smart, sexy, and slippery as fuck.
I thought I’d convinced her we’d be good together long-term, but then she disappeared without a word.
Two years.
That’s how long it’s been since I saw her.
Just as I finally moved on, my mythical woman resurfaces.
She forgot to mention one little thing before she vanished.
One small secret growing up into a big lie.
It’s a betrayal too big to overcome.
I should hate her.
Even though she’s heartbreak wrapped in a seductive package.
I want her more than ever.

What the fuck?! God DAMN you cliffhanger.

description

I somehow missed the memo that this thing ended on a cliffhanger, although I should have recognized there was some skullduggery afoot when I was at 89% or so and 1) there hadn't been enough Jones Lake-esque drama aka crack ice cream yet and, 2) there didn't seem to be a "tied in a nice HEA bow" resolution on the nearby horizon.

And then, alas, there was that moment...

We all KNOW that moment...

The "[Insert name's] story will be continued in [insert title of another book that I now have to buy and wait for]" moment.

And then there was my face.

description

I will admit.

I was not a happy camper at first, if only because I was unprepared for this...situation...

description

But, alas, at the end of the day...if this means I get MORE Z...more of his and Lilly's delicious story...more of my LOKI family...then I guess that's alright.

If only I didn't have to wait until May.

"I'm totally lost in her."

Zero Tolerance is the twelfth book in the Lost Kings Series. Although you could jump into this series with any book and thoroughly enjoy every moment, I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning. Every single LOKI book is full of MC action, passion, and romance. In this twelfth book, we finally find out what happened to Lilly after she left Z. These two have been through so much and finally, their worlds have collided once again. Lilly and Z take some time to reacclimate themselves but when their walls are finally torn down, Z will do whatever it takes to make sure Lilly never gets away again!

description
"That kiss fucks me so thoroughly."
description

Told in multiple POV, Zero Tolerance is possibly my favorite LOKI book yet. The tension between Z and Lilly is great and the push and pull between the two had me captivated from the very first moment until the last. The tempo of the read is fast as the sexual tension between the two continues to build. As Lilly and Z struggle to find their way, club drama is on the rise and the LOKI brothers are once again forced to come together in order to protect the club. In true Lake fashion, the full cast of characters plays an integral role in the plot. As always, the action, passion, and romance saturate the pages and I could not tear my eyes away!
"I'm staying."
Overall, Zero Tolerance is another winning read by the crazy talented Autumn Jones Lake. The LOKI is my absolute favorite MC Series and Z and Lilly are one couple that I am dying for more! Thankfully more Z and Lilly is in the works and will hit my Kindle very soon! I am dying to find out what happens next!

He wants her and has never forgotten her but he sure does have sex with endless amount of women. He even wakes up in bed with not 1 but 2 women the same day he got to meet his son and see the weak, pathetic and spineless heroine after 3 years or was it two? Who the hell cares! And his not-porn star girlfriend who wasn’t interested in slowing down her career so they could be exclusive.

This book is for you if… you are the kind of person that thinks a good MC romance needs to give women a respectful place in the narrative

⇝Preface.
For those of you who follow my reviews or even just stumble upon them on a regular basis, you all know that I do love to read Romance books but that I also have standards. Let's face it, there is a lot of Romance out there for us and I am sure a lot of you just know that moment when you realize there will be a lot of eyerolling happening in a book. And not because you sympathize with the book. Well. not so in this one. Because. OH MY GOD.

I know what y'all are thinking: "Bikers, really?" and I will just be like:

Honestly, I love Autumn's book SO MUCH. The minute I met the LOKI men I knew this love would last a lifetime. They are honest, loyal and not at all like the borderline-abusive neanderthals you encounter in a lot of biker romances. I love to connect with the LOKI fanclub a lot and it's such an amazing experience to talk to people who value these books as much as I do. Autumn Jones Lake puts a ton of work into these and does so much for her fans, that alone already deserves appreciation.

I was so excited to get to dive into Z's story that I skipped a couple of books to dive right into it.

Shocking, I know (in Monica voice).

➺What’s happening.
If Z is being honest, he has had a thing for Lilly for a tad too long to play their relationship down to something it isn't. Z and Lilly both are very open sexually and are famous for "not settling" down. They may have been a challenge only to each other in the beginning, but the sparks between them are flying. Filled with compassion for and loyalty to his LOKI brothers, Z is the fun kind of guy. But he is getting damn serious once he realizes that little thing called "feelings" inside of his heart. As their relationship progresses, he comes to acknowledge that the empty part of his chest is slowly being filled by the kisses, moans and affectionate petting gestures of a certain gorgeous, dark-haired beauty. Z's determination grows along with his feelings but just as he decided to make a move to make them both an item for good, Lilly vanished. Without so much as even a word, Lilly disappeared from his life just as Z thought they had things figured out.

After two long years, they are finally reunited but the road of love has never been rockier. Two years wasn't enough for Z to forget, and certainly not enough to forgive. And it is certainly not enough to stomach the little big surprise Lilly has brought with her. I don't want to take too much away from y'all so I'm gonna stop my summary right there. Except maybe...I should give you a peek at what's avaiting you:

and

and have I mentioned

Can we appreciate how much room these books give to the other LOKI characters? Like, honestly. I love how Autumn gives room for everybody. The storytelling is incredibly multi-dimensional. It really shows how skilled Autumn is at what she's doing. I guess that only leaves to say that this is your fucking loss if you don't read it.

LMAO .... so THAT happened ... I don't even know how to review this book. There is absolutely nothing I can tell you about the story-line and NOT because I think it will give anything away, but because Autumn Jones Lake left us with more questions than answers!!!

I spent almost every moment I read this story anxious, trying to figure out what was what and who was what and what happened to .... I know you feel what I'm saying here. Every single time I was sure I knew something, no I didn't! And I still know nothing. Except maybe who Chance's parents are LOL but that's it! #JesusSaveMeFromThisWoman

If you're starting your Lost Kings journey with this book, you're ridiculous. You have to start from the beginning. But if you don't want to go back 11 books, you should at least read the free prequel to this book, Zero Hour (A Prequel to Zero Tolerance): Lost Kings MC. It will at least give you a little background on Z and Lilly.

I've said this before (11+ times actually lol) but it's worth repeating .. Autumn is really good at what she does. And what she does is suck you into a story so you find yourself not sleeping or even eating until you are thru. She doesn't write superficial stories. They are layered with depth that you don't even realize until BAM, surprise! She is thorough is her story-telling, leaving no stone unturned. You may have questions right now, but I can promise you that you will not have them after Zero Regret: Z and Lilly, Part Two.

This series is so much more than just journeys to HEA for people. It's a journey of the Lost Kings MC as well. It's a journey of family. These men and woman are unwavering in their commitment to one another. They stand together no matter the consequences and they do what needs to be done to protect their family. This is not a club, it's a family, so do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. It's worth the time. #TRUST

If you're wondering if this ends in a cliffhanger, have no fear, it does! But it's really more of a pause/surprise. The entire book is a surprise LOL Honestly, I don't know any more right now than I did when I started this book ... I can't really tell you the questions I had because that would give away the plot so .... until May :)

Angus Frazier aka Z. How I love thee. I’ve been waiting for your book patiently and it was worth the wait. Omg did I love and enjoy Zero Tolerance because of this incredible ensemble of characters. From day one or should I say book one have I loved them and my love continues to grow with every book.
Z has been missing a piece. A certain someone for two years and she’s finally back in his life. Lilly left Z without saying goodbye and now she’s back with a little someone. A tiny version of Z and man is he a cutie. Lilly’s reason for leaving and her way back in Z’s good graces isn’t easy.

It was such an exciting and intense journey watching Z and Lilly finding their way back to one another. If it’s even possible with Lilly holding back on certain issues. Especially her reason for leaving. Also Z figuring out fatherhood was sweet and so much fun. Lilly is such a strong heroine and knows how to bring Z to his knees. One things for certain Z and Lilly’s chemistry is stronger and more potent than ever. Have mercy! They are hot and amazing together.
The rest of The Lost King crew play a huge role as usual because they’re brothers and family above all. They’re supportive and them busting each other’s chops always make me laugh. Guaranteed.

To the author Autumn Jones Lake. That ending! Not cool;) You can’t leave me hanging like that. I need more Loki. More Z and Lilly. More of everything. I’m just glad that this book keeps topping the previous one. I couldn’t ask for more. Now the waiting begins for Zero Regret.

SO GOOD!! OMG!
We've been waiting forever for Z's book and it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! Wow! I don't even know where to start!
I don't want to give anything away! But I adored Z. He acted just how I expected a Lost King to act given the circumstances.
I don't care what anyone says, I loved Lilly. I wish I had a friend like her!
As always I love getting immersed in the Lost Kings MC world. I never want these stories to end. I want to join this family just to hang out with them and listen to the funny stuff they say!
Zero Tolerance was everything I wanted it to be. It's a little dirtier and grittier than the last two books, but still both sweet and filthy! And funny! I love the way this author can inject humor, even if it's black humor into the darkest of moments. Absolutely stunning! Z's first book is EVERYTHING! Hot and dirty, sweet and filthy, funny and sexy. It's full of twists you NEVER see coming! I loved every second of this book!!
A lot of stuff happened that I did not expect. But that's what I love about this author and the Lost King men. These books are EVERYTHING! Hot and dirty, sweet and filthy, funny and sexy. And the best part is this series is full of twists you NEVER see coming!
I can't wait until Zero Regret!

This is going to be brief ....

Z and Lilly finally reconnect but as various questions are answered , more and more dark secrets float to the surface of the dark waters swirling around them. These are tumultuous times for our Lost Kings.

Absolutely loved being back in the LOKI world. I adore all these characters and am so invested in them. Chance is adorable & Z is so lovely with him.

This ends on a mother of a cliffhanger. Sweet Jesus Autumn Jones Lake but I think my heart plummeted at that last page. I am itching to know what’s next.

Reread August 2021
I love how quickly these two get over the loss and heartbreak of the past couple of years and just decide to love each other. There’s no bullshit. Then it’s them against the world. Love wins in this one but there’s still plenty of story for the next two books.

Reread August 2019 in anticipation for book 3

Reread May 2019 in preparation for Zero Regret next week.
Gah. Is it next week yet. I wanna know what happens!!!!!!!!!!!!

Original review
I need part 2 ASAP!!!

God, Z. You kill me. I really thought this was going to go a different way and I’m so blown away because it didn’t. Because at the heart of all these tough, strong, alpha bikers are men who love their families and respect women and aren’t afraid to show it to the world.

And Lilly...Jeez, Lilly. That cliffhanger I was not expecting. And I’m not bothered over it waiting for the next book because it’s an intriguing cliffhanger, not an annoying one.

This series keeps going from strength to strength. Love. Love. Love it.

Where do I start with this review....... First I will say that I missed out on on kick arse MC series and I am going to go back and start at the beginning so I know what is going on. Yes you can read this as a stand alone I guess but there were some things in the story that had me think huh what the hell where did that come from who the hell are these people and the club I just love the club so much!

The club sticks by the ones they love and they do right by family which means whoever is a part of the club. This is Z and Lilly's story and boy oh boy what a story it is. I mean I had no idea what was going on but as I was reading I started to get what was going on. Z as the Vice President is in love with Lilly and they have it all until she leaves and disappears for two years. Z is devastated by her leaving with no forwarding address or anything. Then as he is getting over her she comes back into his life with a secret she has kept for two years.

What will Z do? Will he forgive her and move on with her? or will he just leave her alone and move on to a different life? I need the next book like ASAP so I can have answers to all my questions!

I devoured this book.

And I mean DEVOURED!

I read the entire book throughout the span of a night because I’d keep waking up and immediately open my kindle instead of going back to sleep.

I was obsessed!

Lilly is perfect for Z.

I’ve always known that.

Even with her absence I was hopeful.

At this point in time, I’m pretty frustrated with her BUT I KNOW there’s more to her story and I’m anxious to find out what it is!

I’m doing my best to withhold judgment till then and am completely confident that Autumn Jones Lake will spin it in a way that is perfect and mind-blowing!

Teller has always been my favorite in the series but Z is not far behind and I fell even more in love with his character while reading this book.

We know Z as the hot playful manwhore, but he has a lot more depth and heart than most give him credit for.

His actions in this novel endeared him to me. I continually found myself sighing with hearts in my eyes!

Due to certain events so much is up in the air for the Lost Kings, and there are still so many secrets that need to be revealed and I am terrified!

I’m pretty sure the ending of this book gave me high blood pressure but ya know what?

I loved every anxious minute of it!

The wait till part two is going to be agonizing but no doubt well worth it!

WOW!!!! I was one of the first set of eyes to get a look at this book and all I can say is that it's one of my new favorite books from AJL and of course it's Z's book which makes it even better!
Lilly and Z had a very confusing and mostly physical relationship from the start. It was electric chemistry and although both were holding back real feelings, they were definitely there under the surface. Zero Tolerance is what happens later down the road when Z and Lilly find each other again. It is nothing short of fireworks and emotional angst to the max...and an ending that will leave you with your mouth hanging open. I would expect nothing less from this author who has quickly become one of my no questions asked go-to reads.

WHAT DID I JUST READ? I’LL TELL YOU, ANOTHER GREAT BOOK FROM AUTUMN JONES LAKE!!! I HAVE WAITED FOR Z’S BOOK FOREVER AND IT WAS AMAZING! Z LET LILY GET TO CLOSE AND SHE UP AND DISAPPEARS ON HIM. HE TRIES TO FORGET HER WITH AN ENDLESS AMOUNT OF WOMEN, BUT SHES ALWAYS THERE IN THE BACK OF HIS MIND! THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SHES BACK, AND SHES NOT ALONE, A SECRET SHE HAS KEPT FROM Z FOR TWO YEARS.

WHAT I LOVE MOST WITH THIS SERIES IS THE WAY THE MC TAKES CARE OF THEIR OWN AND IS THERE FOR ONE ANOTHER, WHETHER THEY WANT IT OR NOT. AND THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THEM LEAVES ME IN STITCHES!!!!! LOVE THE BANTER AND BACK AND FORTH JABS!!!

THE ENDING LEAVES US ON A CLIFFHANGER.....SO I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN BOOK 2
I THINK LILY HAS ALOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO.....I KNOW ITS GONNA BE GOOD THOUGH!!!!!

I didn't like reading about him waking up with two bunnies. He was with others while she was away. Not sure about her since that was never discussed. I will say that i still believe the blood work that was done in the previous books involved Chance all along. Idk. I thought maybe she was raped or assaulted by the senators. Then ran to protect herself but not sure. No I did not like her keeping Chance a secret. But it goes both ways. He knew where she was. If he wanted her as much as he acted like then he could have sought her out. Then he'd have seen the pregnant belly. Instead he chose to stay home and screw endless women.
I don't want Z away from a Rock and the others so hopefully Sway gets better. I really want Dex and Swan together but he's been with others throughout the series so maybe she needs someone better. Ravage needs a woman so bad to shut him up. Even though I'm not a fan of all the bed hopping I still want to finish this series. I just sometimes wish people wouldn't be so careless about sexual partners. Nobody wants to see or hang out with people that slept with their guy.

Lost Kings MC #12

Now where the hell have I been?  Why is this first book I have read by Autumn Jones Lake?  Before I started writing this, I was clicking all the other books to my TBR list!

Zero Tolerance is the 12th book in the series, but I can honestly say it can be read as a stand alone.  This is the first book I have read in this series or from this author and it was fantastic!

Zero and Lilly have history, they have a long history. (I did pick up the novella Zero Hour: A Prequel to Zero Tolerance. It's free!) That establishes the long history between the two of them.

I loved how Lilly embraced her love of sex, it was refreshing to read a heroine that wasn't afraid to ask for what she wants.  She isn't ashamed of her past and what she had to do to get to where she is today.  There is a bit of a mystery to her, which kept me guessing until the end....and now I am gonna have to wait for the next book in the series!

Zero, oh my me...he is the epitome of a MC Alpha! He is tough, he is strong, he has love for his brothers in the club and he goes after what he wants, and that's Lilly.  Even after all she put him through and the bombshell she drops on him, he is steady, he is forever hers.

You have found a new fan Ms. Jones Lake! I will be stalking you on all the social media!! I am glad I got the opportunity to read and review this!

Two years ago Zero had his heart shattered after Lilly left without a word. Now she's back. Still carrying the burden of many secrets. Will she finally reveal the real reason why she left?

My heart broke for Z. He's angry but still carries a torch for his mermaid. He's slowly unraveling the layers of Lilly's secrets.

Zero Tolerance is an emotional story that will touch your heart and soul. At times you don't know whether to cry or throw your kindle across the room.

Omygosh! The cliffy blew me away! I'm so hooked on this series! I can't wait for the next installment!!

Holy all that is hotness in one sexy, smoldering package that is Zero A.K.A "Angus Frazier"

This Review has taken me much longer to write than I usually do because, 1) I really didn't think anything I wrote would do it any justice 2) I didn't want to give any of the story away because you really need to READ it for yourselves and 3) did I mention I just didn't think I could do it any JUSTICE!!! all I can do is give it my absolute best shot so here goes people...

The much-anticipated release of "Zero Tolerance" was BLOODY worth the wait, let me tell you, it was jam packed with action, suspense, questions, love, heartache, family, off the chart’s chemistry, smoking hot sex scenes that made me blush and did I say QUESTIONS!!!! I have so many still left un-answered but I know without a doubt Autumn will have them all answered in the next book "Zero Regret" which releases on 16th May.

This book though!!! it was so hot to read, I always thought Rock would forever be #1 for me but slowly over the course of this entire series, Z has snuck up on me and after reading this, he is in equal #1 spot. He is everything you could ever want in a man and I absolutely loved every single word written about him. It gave me hope that at the end of all the upheaval coming their way... I see hope. Hope for that lasting love and FAMILY that Z can finally call his own. This guy has been wanting it for years and I can see it happening for him. Sure... there is going to be a lot of crap to get through to finally have it firmly placed in the palm of his hand, but I know he will have it. Z is the kind of man that always gets what he wants, and Lily and his perfect little boy will be his not matter who or what he has to go through to get it. there was a lot of twist and turns in this book and I absolutely loved the mayhem I can see coming. Yes!!!! I am a little sick and twisted that way.

Lily was so far down on me "like" list, but as the story progresses and we delve deeper into her reasons of 'why' and her hellish background, I found it very hard not to carve out a little piece of my heart for her. She has all the ingredients to make the perfect "old lady" she just needs to find her inner peace and get rid of all the old, heartbreaking, unwanted and toxic baggage to make a new life that is rightfully hers, right alongside of Z.

I cannot go any further without totally letting certain thing out of the bag and I refuse to do so here. just do yourselves a bloody favour and read THIS BOOK!!!! trust me, you will love it.
If you are new to this series, I know you will want to start here but I advise you not to. Start at the very beginning and come along this beautiful journey with all of us that have fallen in love with the "LOST KINGS".

This book deserves more than 5 stars and Autumn Jones Lake deserves all the applause for this book. she hit it out of the park. Bravo Miss Lake and I look forward to reading the next one.

WOW. I knew this was going to be a roller coaster but…. just…. WOW. And that ending? Gah. I can’t even!

I have always been on the fence about Z but throughout the series he has gradually moved up to be one of my favourites. With his domineering personality but touched with a fabulous sense of humour, what is there not to like about him. Lilly left me with so many questions from the prequel (Zero Hour) that I thought all would be revealed. Oh No. All the way to the end and then we got an inkling of what has been going on whilst she had been away.

I did have some questions as I was reading the book, such as when Z meets his son for the first time and sees Lilly again. But then reading on and knowing Z I totally get why he was quick to acceptance. Yes, it’s great when you get a whole lot of angst and frustration but for Z that wouldn’t have worked. I think only the hard-core LOKI fans who have read throughout the series would get that, new readers with this book not so much. I loved that AJL made this a secret baby romance though!

I loved the depth and emotion between Lilly and Z, it was tangible and exciting. As for Z getting to know his son it was heart-warming, so cute. There were still a lot of questions to be asked and answered though. Some of Lilly’s avoidance just threw more questions in the mix.

I was left in such a book hangover after reading this and I can’t wait at all for the second part to come. Hurry up May. Five stars.
