Look beyond the hurt and use the power of forgiveness to move forward. Forgiveness is one of the best tools we have at our disposal to create a better life for ourselves. Leave that baggage behind as you put the past in the past— where it belongs!
Forgiveness is an amazing tool—it can transform your life in just one second if you decide that you want to use its power. There’s a reason we refer to anger, resentment, and disappointment as “baggage.” We carry it everywhere we go. We’d like nothing more than to drop it on the side of the road and forget about it. But how do we do that? How do we process the past and then leave it behind? These 101 revealing true stories show you how. Learn how to manage your hurt with or without an apology and focus on what’s really important. Read about marriages being strengthened, families getting back together, grown children coming to understand their parents, and people overcoming the worst transgressions—even crimes. These men and women walked forward light and free, and you can, too—onto the bright, warm, welcoming road ahead. And, because no one’s perfect, you’ll also learn how to apologize if you’re the one in the wrong... and how to use the power of self-forgiveness to find peace and happiness.

I'm published in 7 Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and this one by far is my favorite book. I actually used it this semester to teach a college course I developed called Empowerment through Forgiveness. It was my go-to tool, and I referenced it often. The stories are real and compelling. They're also entertaining. If you want or need to forgive someone - including yourself - this is a must-read. It gives you the ins and the outs, and the how-tos, and helps you navigate through the process, regardless of how daunting the task may seem.
BTW, don't get the ebook on this one. Get the real deal. You're gonna want to highlight, take notes, and use it for reference. Don't get me wrong, the ebook is good. But in this case, the physical book will serve you for years.
I’m very proud to have been chosen as a contributing author in this issue. My story, “The Man With the Mohawk” joins 100 other pieces on the subject. I look forward to having future submissions selected for other topics in this well-edited series.
This really helped me understand that you always should forgive people even when they don’t deserve it. It’s an unnecessary burden on your shoulders that you carry.
I think the real stories told in the book (didn’t say real names of people for it to be confident) made it very interesting. Yet, people of those stories forgave when they didn’t “need” to.
I am trying to forgive someone in my life and I read this hoping it would be a guide on how to do it. The stories were deep and emotional, but it didn't give me the key I was looking for. Very well written essays. An emotional and good read.
Chicken Soup books just never disappoint! Some of the stories in the forgiveness fix had me in tears and really opened my eyes on forgiveness and letting go of past hurts and angers. I like to use the chicken soup books as part of my daily devotional.
