Pravo malo (malo veće zapravo) blago za svakog pottehead-a. Iako ne nudi uvek ''nove'' informacije o filmovima i setovima, ova knjiga to nadomešćuje predivnim crtežima i ilustracijama, a ponegde i duhovitim komentarima.
This book takes you through the locations in the Harry Potter universe along with little popup facts scattered throughout.
So...I totally thought this was an illustrated guide to the books (which I've been wanting for literally years to have a complete guide to Hogwarts and associated places) but turns out it was for the movies.
I did definitely liked the pictures for this one - the style of the art was pretty dang neat.
Some of the facts were interesting, and some were really obvious so it was hit or miss for that for me.
All in all, this one was alright...just not what I was hoping for.
Really cute illustrations and overall style. Suitable for kids and fans who like to collect stuff *cough* me *cough*. Ultimately though it doesn't bring anything new or exciting to the table.
You begin this book by exploring a map of Hogwarts, and end it by wandering Hogsmeade. Essentially the two bookends of the world of Hogwarts. Within that world lies the Forbidden Forest, Black Lake, Quidditch Pitch and more.
Each chapter details a specific aspect of Hogwarts castle or the surrounding area along with backstage information about that location from the films . Within that chapter events from several movies are, highlighted. One of my favorite examples was the Great Hall where we saw scenes from the Yule Ball, Dueling Club and more. Another was Dumbledore's Office where, amongst other topics, Gaunt's ring and Fawkes were shown
The illustrations are a mix of film photos and drawn art in a specific set of colors. Some chapters included a small fold-out section, giving that topic more detail.
For any fan, large or small, this is a wonderful book.

Such a cute, nicely illustrated look at Hogwarts. This would make a great gift for Harry Potter fans. There were a lot of neat facts about what went into creating different set pieces and things, which was really interesting because many of the effects were done by hand with simple tools. One of my favorite examples is that they made the Marauder’s Map fold itself back up by threading string through the page somehow.
Great coffee table book. Biggest complaint is how huge the book is! It's even bigger than the illustrated HP editions. I love all of the random facts about the film scattered throughout the pages. For instance- did you notice to the right of the spiral staircase to the boys' dormitory is a portrait of young Minerva McGonagall?
When I picked this up I thought it would be cute for my collection but I actually learned a few things. I’m excited to do the puzzle now, if I EVER finish my current one.
What I learned: - 11,000 books were created for the Hogwarts library - When Hermione is stacking books if by magic people were wearing green gloves to grab them.
Enjoyed the illustrations, but how the different guidepoints were arranged. Like why is Chamber of Secrets brought up four pages from the end. A bit better organization was needed otherwise it's just seems like some shuffled all the pages until they were all right side up and resembled a book and were like eff it, go ahead print and ship
My students are going to be obsessed with this. I love all the behind the scenes information on how they made the magic happen in the movies, but I want waaaaaay more. It feels a little scant on the IMDb style info and a little too heavy on recapping the action.
This is a beautiful book! There are some neat little facts from the making of the movies, but what makes this book are the illustrations and overall construction. The perfect size for a display book, smooth weighted pages, and beautiful artwork make it a must read for any Potter fan.
I don't know, maybe I'm being harsh, but I found most of the words in this useless. Maybe I just know too much Potter to start. That said, I do think the illustrations are nice, but I feel this it more a browse at a library or book store than actually read book.
Beautiful illustrations, which was the reason I brought this book! I was just slightly disappointed with the lack of new/interesting facts about the movies…!
Either way we’ll worth a look for a potter fan or a good intro to someone wanting to get to know the world of Hogwarts!
Not all Harry Potter reference books are created equal. The illustrations were cool, but the text didn't bring up anything that we don't already know about the movies or the books.
This would've been more successful had it been a picture book, honestly. Harsh, but true
