Joe and Rob are separated into two different classrooms in this fifth adventure in the hilarious Bots chapter book series.
Many years ago, scientists on Earth sent video satellites out to the end of the universe to see what was hiding in deep space. Now, years later, these satellites have begun sending their first videos back to Earth...and the stars of the show are two goofy robots.
When Joe and Rob are separated into two different classrooms, will their lives ever be the same?
With easy-to-read language and graphic novel art on almost every page, the Bots chapter books are perfect for emerging readers.
"I like the Bots story about how the robots got back together again, but not that they threw books at the windows. We shouldn't do that. Joe went to another class and the teacher didn't call him the right name. That's silly." -Conley, age 6
This was a quick short title that my son picked up at the library. The author is quick to point out you'd enjoy it more if you read the whole series, something we had not done before starting this title, #5. Regardless, it was fun and we laughed at the teacher bots silliness and the field day antics before bedtime.
This was kind of all over the place. I feel like it tried to harness the essence/fun of the The Adventures of Captain Underpants series but just feel flat. I could see kids liking it but it wasn't a great read for me. I would not promote it to my students (unfortunately, all my K-1 students got this in a summer book bundle). Also, has this author ever been to school? The school descriptions were so bizarre, it had me questioning... ("today at school we will learn math"... not how school works...)
Joe and Rob are separated into two different classrooms after Tinny's conniving gets Joe transferred. Which means during field day they have to compete against each other when their teachers decide to settle an old grudge with a competition. Can they still support each other and maybe solve the teachers' issues?
Well, that was one imaginative story. Part wild competition, part sentient (and slightly nasty) garden, part pun on computer bugs. It was definitely entertaining and creative. Kids who love robots and silly stories will eat this up.
I kept waiting for something interesting to happen. But my kids were entertained, for some reason.
Joe and Rob are in the same class at school. We spend some time with them just learning stuff. Then Joe gets in trouble and gets sent to a different class. Which matters for some reason. Also, there are bugs.
