I continue to be a little meh about this webtoon — there are certain endearing scenes but as a whole, I'm finding it a little hard to connect to the entire cast and follow the plot.

Still surprised at how I can feel all the embarassing, touching, cute and funny moments even while understanding like 50% (at best) of what is being said. I applaud the author for their skills, hope they continue to hold up 🤞.

What makes Cheese in the Trap stand out is how real — and sometimes unsettling — the characters feel. This isn’t a soft romance. It’s layered, ambiguous, and often leaves you questioning people’s intentions.
Yoo Jung, especially, is not your typical male lead. He’s complex, manipulative at times, and hard to fully understand — which makes the dynamic with Hong Seol both intriguing and slightly disturbing.
The story focuses a lot on everyday situations, but it turns them into something tense and psychologically charged. Even small interactions feel meaningful, like there’s always something beneath the surface.
At times, the pacing can feel slow, especially with the focus on daily life and side characters. But the character development and the subtle tension make it worth it.
