Death threats, black magic, and vampire business is all just another day in the life of Abigail Collins.
Abigail has her hands full with her first PIB case since she came back from leave. When the brother of a Cult member shows up dead, Liz requests Abby be put on the case. The cause of death? A missing heart. The case leads her to the local Coven, and she must find the culprit before the Cult grows impatient and takes things into their own hands.
And if that wasn’t enough, a second case is dropped onto her plate.
Agent Yorkingson calls Abby in to consult on a King of Vampire’s case hoping that her magical skills will come in handy. When the clues all point to Ira succeeding in creating the perfect hybrid, things go wrong, very wrong.

I've truly come to love this series and I always eagerly await the next instalment. This one felt so very satisfying. Life is moving forwards for Abby and she is begging to get a grasp on herself, her past and those around her. Old acquaintances turn up, enemies and friends never have very clear borders here Abby is concerned and life is certainly never dull! Fortunately Abby is beginning to learn from her mistakes and wasting herself in her world, and also that of Levi's. Learning new tricks, spells and relying on the very few she knows she can trust in certain matters, she needs it to solve yet another gruesome case. Fantastic read, that deserves more attention.
Go Abby!!! Everyone has their limit and Abby has reached hers. Never piss off a witch with a gun, cause those bullets will kill you. The cult is working hard to keep Abby safe, while a vampire sets her up to be turned and Nick lurking in the shadows. Ira meets his match with Abby and only one walks away alive. Its a fascinating story with twists and turns. Only Abby could find so much trouble.
This one knocked it out of the park. It finally tied up some of those loose strings that we knew were out there. Small spoiler- I knew Oliver would come through and damn but you know who needed to be killed. As always I love the fact that a book has an ending, yes we know that there are still things to be done but this bit is nicely completed.
Oh this book just takes Abby from badass to Super badass!!! If you a fan of Abigail then you are going to live this book, especially the ending. It was a proper "drop the mike" moment.
Loved this storyline! Loved the ending. Abby has truly gotten a backbone now, instead of getting hurt feelings of being betrayed or hesitating because someone told her not to take action. Nope, this girl is just going to step up and take care of business. About time.
This was really good. I just couldn't believe how many obstacles Abigail had to overcome. Some of the betrayals were quite a surprise. I hope there won't be a long wait for the next installment.
One major storyline is completed and this was a powerful book. What's nice is that other characters are becoming more distinct and far more rounded. I liked this a lot and will keep this review short so as not to give spoilers.
I have been hooked o this series since book one. This book surprised and challenged what I thought was going to happen !! Great job can’t wait for the next one !
I reread this before continuing A LITTLE BLACK MAGIC because the first page reminded I needed to be on point. Glad. As before, my only criticism is the editor. A. L. Kessler deserves the best - not sloppy!
I am enjoying this series so much that I can NOT stop going straight to the next book! I can't wait to see what's next. I got most of my answers now, can't wait to get the rest.
