Kerry Sheridan had disappeared in the aftermath of the Unified Tech explosion three years ago. Isaiah, ex-Tracker and Rebecca, ex-bartender, searched, always turning back to the silver ring that still shone with her psychic energy to remind them not to give up. Kerry Sheridan was alive. Isaiah didn't want to think about it, and wouldn't tell Rebecca, but — if they found her, would she know them? Would she still be the person they knew?
A fitting sequel! Packed with everything you loved in KLS-9 times two - maaaaaybe three. You won't be disappointed. Plus the hook/twist at the end will MAKE you get the next book. Hurry up, Mrs. Grissom! *impatiently tapping fingernails loudly*
I won't lie. At first, I struggled with this book a bit. I was worried about how certain elements looked to be evolving as I read, because, as much as I loved KLS-9, this one was feeling very familiar, like a sequel to a great movie that doesn't quite measure up...that is until I got to the third act. While I do think that this book could have been fleshed out more, maybe 50 pages longer, and some characters really could have benefited from such a treatment, there's still some really strong material here! I could have done without the rape scenes (but that's something you have to decide for yourself, if such content crosses a line), and some of the dialogue feels a little forced in places, like everyone's trying to hard to be friendly to each other, but the overarching story here won me over in the end. I'm excited to see what Leigh brings to the table in EDEN-1 and where Kerry and the surviving members of her chosen family will go from here.
SABRE-6: Six Times the Fun Ms. Grissom did it again with another fantastic ride full of action and suspense. SABRE-6 delivers at all angles. Sequel to the wonderful KLS-9, this book starts off where KLS left off. If you enjoyed the first, you will love the second, though I would not recommend reading them out of order.
In SABRE-6, you get the same fast-paced urban fantasy with some super sexy elements though there is quiet a bit of violence. This book is not for the feint of heart. I don’t want to go into detail about this one like I did with my review for KLS-9 because I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I will say that Grissom kicks this book up a notch.
The characters are freaking awesome with some new ones added to spice things up. Their emotions are real and raw. The plot moves quickly, and there are twists and turns at every angle.
If you are looking for a “can’t put down” series, I would highly recommend this one. And if you read KLS-9, you definitely need to check out SABRE-6!
Like Handmaid's Tale with magic and weapons. It is a lot of rapey violence against which women fight back, but, for me, the resistance was not satisfying enough to make me feel better about experiencing the general violence of the story in the first place. I think my difficulty here is that this is a sequel to KLS-9, jumping into the problems of the character Kerry Sheridan, but nowhere in the book description or the text itself did it say that this was a Book 2 in a series. I only learned that it was a sequel from seeing other readers' comments on Goodreads and after I'd finished the book. Maybe this wasn't intended to be a standalone story, which would explain why it was hard for me to follow.
From Amazon: You know a story is awesome when you're sad to get to the end. I can't wait for the next one to be released.
Leigh is an amazingly talented story teller. The characters have all come to life so much that I know each one vividly and remember their names.
It is an imaginable future for our current times and the ethical dilemmas faced are relatable. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't say more, but you will definitely find someone to identify with in this epic series.
I hope to see it on the big screen in the near future. 💖
I highly recommend the audio version. It was gripping to hear and get lost in the story.
The author Leigh Grissom got a great penmanship getting his story on paper so beautifully is not as easy as he makes it seem. Even so that this is under the wrong genre, yes it is science fiction but it’s also a horror and a mystery all together, not exactly my style but one thing that I got to give the author is that he keeps the mystery going making it hard to put down especially with the unexpected twists which always surprises you out of nowhere.
Logan McAllister narrated each character perfectly !
Loved this book! I love a good sci-fi “end of the world” kind of story. Brilliant characters each with unique abilities and personalities. Good vs Evil but with a twist. In some cases the good was the evil. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put this dark twisted book down!! Loved every minute of it. The narration was absolutely perfect. Logan has a unique way of embracing each character and portraying them perfectly. This book has an HEA but there are many avenues left that could lead to a series. I would recommend this book!
Well she did it again! I couldn't put this book down! Kept me on the edge of my seat! Leigh Grissom is going places! So glad I took the chance and bought both of her books! You won't be disappointed!
A fast-paced, urban fantasy thriller that doesn't slow down to catch a breath. Kerry is a badass heroine who will destroy anyone that gets in her way, or threatens her loved ones. The second in this series, Grissom has done a nice job with the action and cast of characters in this dystopian world.
