I read another book by the author and I wanted to give her another try. The book was a good book and a good story, but the editing mistakes are bringing your story down, as a reader i don't want to keep reading because there are so many grammatical errors. I will not read another of your books, it's just to much. But good luck and pay for an editor, or at least have several people you trust read your story to help you catch the errors.
I read this story with the idea that it was going to be similar to either Fifty Shades of Gray or even Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever (both very incredible books, btw); it wasn’t similar to either. The story line was interesting. It wasn’t your typical poor girl is saved and loved by overwhelmingly rich handsome man. The two main characters had life situations in common. Darien manipulated the incident to his favor. However, Lana seemed to come willingly despite her internal protests.
I like Lana’s character. She had a lot of spook in her. She said what was on her mind and didn’t care who she offended. Darien, I’m still on the fence about. He had some alpha qualities but not enough. And they weren’t fifty shades of anything....
There is a sequel, which I believe could have been apart of the first book. I really don’t like unnecessary sequels.
Oh...the books has quite a few errors. Missing words, wrong words, etc. The errors don’t take away from the story.
I would recommend it to my reading friends to see if I missed anything.
I usually read and only leave reviews that are four or five stars but I have to say something about this. First of all I think you have great potential and your stories are captivating but honey, you need to fire your editor if you have one or hire a new one. This is my third book from you and it's going to be my last if you continue to put out these unedited books. That shows lack of respect for the craft and your fans. I see you changed the title to reflect that it’s a series but I strongly recommend you edit and resubmit. Some of you writers need to stop focusing on quantity and focus on quality. Don’t be one of those authors...not when you have such a bright future in this industry. Your word for today is edit....good luck.
This book was short and sweet. I enjoyed the plot and the premise behind it. As a huge fan of Greek Mythology I especially loved the use of Greek names and the backdrop of the story.
Black is impressive with the pen when it comes to writing a steamy sex scene and she does not disappoint at all in this novel.
The book ends on a cliffhanger with a few unanswered questions, but there is a sequel in the works so hopefully we will find out more about how this couple manages in the next book.
I would recommend this book to fans of Fifty Shades of Gray & for those who enjoy a little Greek history.
Enjoyed the story line very much, I know that this is a erotic romance story, but I had to skip over the sex because it was a bit much for me and I didn’t care for the cursing and using the Lords name in vain. Now with that said I loved the chemistry between Allanah and Darien it was electrifying, but the crazy relationship between Darien his so called cousin Cassie and his brother was crazy. You’ll have to read the book to see what that was about. I do look forward to reading part 2. The story line was fantastic and I would love to get some back ground on Mikos, Dana and Andrew. I’m hoping that part 2 will shed more light on their story.
I must say that while I enjoyed this story, not too keen on a continuation but whatever. Allanah was tough but funny, Darien alpha all the way. I am hoping next book has his POV. Now I usually don't bitch and moan about a few typos but when I have to read a paragraph several time in order for it to make sense to me then it is too much. As you asked for feedback and as I would like to support new authors please edit your material prior to submitting. I would like to take the publisher to task also. All in all I enjoyed it. And looking forward to the next installment.
...it needs to be edited for grammar, which surprised me because her other books were fine. I enjoyed the plot, although I wish we had been given more insight into the sibling relationships, especially Allanah & Dana. Why did they stop speaking, and why did both Dana and Miko sign guardianship over to her and not Derian, or Allanah & Derian? Looking forward to the sequel and hoping the publisher takes the time to get it professionally edited before publication.
Fifty Shades of Geek, is hot and each time Lana and Darien play, the scenes seem to be getting kinkiest and kinkier. This a wonderful start to this series. Besides this just so happens to be the first time I've ever read anything from this author. And it will definitely won't be the last. And I'm loving the chemistry. You can feel the twist coming.... I'm looking forward to seeing the next episode.
Any opinions expressed within this review are solely and uniquely made by me and I am happily leaving this review.
The concept of this story was okay but it lacked character development. I couldn’t invest in Darius and Lana. The cattiness of the other female didn’t enhance the story. It really reflected poorly on the male hero. I won’t be reading part two. I wish I knew at the beginning this was going to be a continued story. And all the typos, the change of points of view. A couple of times I wasn’t sure who was speaking. She needs an editor and to rework the story and drop the “drama” of the jealous cousin.
This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you that I loved it! Such a good book with great characters that keeps you obsessed with every page since the first one. The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read!. A fantastic book that has it all!
I happily endorse this story to any and all who are looking for an enjoyable read and a completely different experience than anyone could imagine on their own. I recommend this amazing book and I can expect the same from the next.
I should have listened to the reviews and passed on this book. But nope. A hard head.... So Allanah was ghetto and no more better than Cassie. This book just seem to keep going and it doesn't get to anything of substance. I stopped when the bum kissed on Allanah at the restaurant. I was done. And why no one use protection yet they claim to not want kids. Nothing is explained about Dana and Mikos and how the accident took place. Did Mikos even have a funeral? The book is all over the place. This could have been good but it wasn't.
Method:paperback Rating:1/5 stars H rating:2/5 - Darien h rating:1/5 - Allanah Drama:3/5 Thoughts:SO I won't really beat a dead horse, but editing, there was some sterotyping that I wasn't a fan of. I received this book due to a book box and am not planning on continuing this duet.
I thoroughly enjoyed Fifty Shades of Greek. The storyline was good although I wish she would have delved more into the sibling relationships on both sides. Allanah is a strong black woman who will do what she has to do to protect her family. Darien is a true alpha but she starts to break down his defenses. I can't wait to read the next one. The typo's were a little distracting and took away from the storyline a bit.
So this is the problem with self published books, no professional proofreader! If the author had a proofreader they would have told them the timeline made NO SENSE! There were loads of grammatical errors that I even looked over, but the timeline killed it for me. I couldn't even finish the book, it was so bad. I really wanted to like it, really I did.
Fast read, I loved it, I read it in one day! The couple is in love and do not know it! Their first meeting was one of tragedy but the two of them made it a meeting of love at first get together! I loved the fact that Lana was not a push over a woman that Darien could not control, A woman who with all of his money he could not control but loved! He does not know it and neither does she! I am ready for part 2!
First time reading from this author but it won't be my last. The writer's play on words was magnificent! I'm stuck on that 'government naming' part. The main characters kept the storyline hot, super sexy, and extra engaging. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, so for those of you that aren't fans either; beware! Kudos and 5 thumbs up. Job well done.
This was a nice little read. I do wish it was longer and not so many typos but the story line was great. I really enjoyed the characters in this book Allanah and Darien they had this crazy kind of chemistry going on. I do hate that there is a cliffhanger to this book but oh well can't wait for part 2.
I hate cliffhangers, and I don't remember reading in the description that this book would be a cliffhanger🙄 I'm so annoyed because while there were quite a few typos I looked passed it and was really enjoying the writing style of this author and the story. But.......cliffhanger! 😡
characters were enjoyable to read about. I wished that the story had remained in America.Darien definitely had some Christian Grey characteristics about him. Callahan had attitude to spare. I would, recommend this book, and I would definitely read part II
I enjoyed read Fifty Shades of Greek!! I loved characters. Allanah how she took charge of the situation with her sister and nephew and Darien I don't trust him or the so called cousin Cass. Definitely an entertaining story I'm looking forward to reading the next book!!
I though it was bad grammar then realized some of it is Bad editing. I know where the story is going but I don't feel the main characters. Don't care for him and I feel little sympathy for her.
I loved this book and cannot wait for the sequel. I especially loved the heroine ... I actually laughed out loud for some of the scenes and phrases used. I busted added the author to my list of favorites. Thank you for making me laugh.😅
I think this had the makings of a great story but those typos and poor grammatical errors kept slowing the reading down. After all of that, there is a cliffhanger, not sure I would pay for the next story but do want to see how it ends
Truly liked the story but the typos took so much away from the story. Proof reading and correcting errors prior to releasing a book is not a bad idea. I hate it when an author diminishes my enjoyment by being lazy or in a hurry.
This was a good book I really enjoyed the story . I would had given it a 5 star review if it was edited better. I am looking forward to Darien and Allanan falling in love even though I think Darien is already in love with Allahan
It felt like I was reading a rough draft. It was a bit choppy and the story did not flow. The Concept of the story I like but I feel the author should have spent more time on it. For the next book; please work on the transitions and completion of your idea.
