Heather Graham is a fantastic author. I've read a lot of her books and been very satisfied with the writing, the story telling, the characters. This one, however, was below her usual standards.
Maura and Brock were high school sweethearts years ago, A woman had been murdered, Brock was arrested and then released, and Maura left town, too scared to stand up for him.
Today ... two women are missing. Brock is now an FBI Agent and he and Maura are now in the same place at the same time. Both are them are wary, but they regret that things hadn't worked out when they were kids.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, it has all the criteria that I look for first. But the characters were like cardboard cutouts .. not much depth or credibility to them at all. The story was okay, but i didn't find it all that suspenseful. Conversations seemed to be a bit rambling and at times, nonsensical.
Many thanks to the author / HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada) / Harlequin Intrigue / Netgalley for the advanced digital copy of this Romance. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Tangled Threat by Heather Graham is a romantic suspense book and I’ve become quite hit and miss with this genre. This story involved a second chance between the two main characters so I thought maybe it would be a real hit as I love romance characters with a history between them but alas that wasn’t the case.
Maura Antrim and Brock McGovern had been a couple twelve years before as they were both working at a resort. However when the pair had come across a dead body hanging from the what was known as the History tree the relationship quickly ended. Brock unfortunately was arrested for the murder of one of their co-workers and Maura’s parents quickly whisked her away from the deadly crime. Brock had been quickly cleared of the past crime and later went on to become an FBI agent.
Maura has now returned to the scene of that long ago murder being a video producer that has been working on a new project about historical macabre events. Maura never expected when she arrived at the resort she’d once worked at to find that Brock was also staying there now actually working a new crime of a mysterious disappearance.
Quite honestly for me I had a hard time getting into this story. The book is a short one and with trying to learn the past and present going on with these characters I never really felt myself caring about the couple or story the way I should with a suspense read. I personally chalked this one up to the fact that it was short it didn’t have enough depth to bring me really into the story leaving me to rate it at two and a half stars.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Harlequin Intrigue series book. Fast paced, stories of ghosts in Florida, mystery. Lovers reunited. Maura and Brock. Turns out he did try to contact her but her parents interfered. Twelve years later they finds themselves together with the same feelings. Tame on the sizzle scale. Sex scenes are about three sentences long with no real heat. The mystery of women disappearing has depth with plenty of suspects. A bit rushed at the end where explanations occur in the epilogue.
I’ve read and still have on my shelves dozens of books by Heather Graham. She can tell a good story.
Tangled Threat was a quick read with a second chance at love romance and an intriguing mystery.
Maura Antrim and Brock McGovern were blissfully in the throes of new love when the couple was torn apart by a murder at the infamous History Tree located at the resort where the pair worked. After Brock was arrested in connection with the murder, Maura’s parents whisked her away before they had a chance to talk after Brock was released as innocent the next day. Now an FBI agent, Brock returns to Florida to investigate the disappearance of several women connected with the History Tree. When Maura runs into Brock while working on a story about the History Tree, she’s determined to help him with the investigation as well as exploring the passion that’s still between them.
The book begins with the events from twelve years ago that tore Maura and Brock apart and I liked that the author chose to show what happened back then as it helped set the tone for the rest of the book. The present day disappearances made for an interesting mystery and I was definitely curious how the author would tie the different cases together. One thing I wasn’t a fan of was how the characters would go off on tangents about mysterious deaths/legends of the area as the stories had nothing to do with what was going on. I also had a couple issues with the ending of the mystery. I figured out who was responsible within the first few chapters of the book which was disappointing. I also think the final surprise about one of the characters made absolutely no sense and it seemed like the author just added it for shock factor.
Maura and Brock were each other’s first loves and they never got over each other due to the way their relationship ended. I’m normally a fan of second chance at love, but I had a few issues with the relationship in this book. My biggest complaint was that there was little to no buildup in their new relationship. One minute they were barely speaking and the next they’re sleeping together and back in love. I don’t mind when characters are quick to sleep with each other, but normally there’s buildup to that happening which wasn’t the case here. I will say the scenes showing their physical relationship were well done and the two had good chemistry in the bedroom. My other big issue was that they had very few conversations outside of the case, so I didn’t really see how they fell back in love. It seems like the author wanted you to believe they were in love twelve years ago and just never stopped.
Overall Tangled Threat was enjoyable enough despite my issues with the romance and the ending. I will check out books from this author in the future as she has some that look more up my alley.
**I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.**
Thanks to author for providing this copy through Netgalley. It was new author for me and I will look forward for more books from her. This book needed to be read in a proper mood or if you are very interested in history of USA, you like some ancient storytelling, some mystic and suspense. There was a bit of second chance romance as well. Sex scenes were written elegantly, there is no any descriptive sex. Although main characters were separated by parents of heroine, both weren't celibate. Although I appreciate there weren't any details about previous partners. I liked the way author put some interesting facts about Florida history. Suspense line did have an interesting twist! I didn't see this coming
I had to take a few before I sat down and wrote this review. First I want to say that Heather Graham is one of my all time favorite authors. I have read pretty much everything that she has written both with her true name and the others she sometimes goes by. Her 'Alliance Vampire' series is one of the best paranormal reads out there and then of course her Krewe of Hunters. I have even read some of her historical books. 'Tangle Threat' was a bit difficult for me. The story itself was good and it started off quite well. But, as the plot played out it became a bit slow for me. Then we come to the end and it seemed rather hurried. So for me I could only give this one 3 stars. Heather Graham is still one of my favorites and I will definitely keep reading her works.
Tangled Threat is a book with a really cool premise and an execution that didn’t quite get there. I love the idea two people with history as teenagers brought back together by a crime with eerily similar circumstances as the one that initially tore them apart, especially when one of them is now an FBI agent. I will say that it was a very quick read, so that was enjoyable. My problem is that the leads in this book have little to no chemistry! Their first real conversation takes place almost halfway through the book, and that’s the only conversation that they have before falling back into bed together. They barely have any conversations after that too, instead they just discuss the murder mystery going on at the resort they’re staying at. We’re supposed to believe that they’re each other’s true love but we never see any way that they actually complement each other, just that they remember being in love. There’s just no romantic tension. The romance absolutely takes a backseat to the mystery, which also isn’t that interesting.
I would also say that a lot of the writing in this book is redundant. We’re told about the details of the murder case that this book revolves around in the very first chapter, and then we get to hear those same exact detail retold over and over again maybe six different times to other characters. I guess each time was supposed to add a little more information and detail, but god it was boring. Also boring were the several long passages where characters remind the reader that Florida is more than just beaches, but also only ever mention the same other things besides beaches. It was just very repetitive. The dialogue was also weirdly stiff in a lot of places, and many times characters say things that normal people would never phrase that way.
Finally, I think that the big twist in the very last section was delivered by the characters with less enthusiasm than they would have ordering a pizza. It felt like there was a specific major reveal planned and then they decided to throw another thing on top just because, and it read very flat. There just wasn’t that much emotion.
An eARC copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review, and all thoughts are my own.
I used to read all of the books by this author, so I was really happy to receive an ARC from net galley. I found a few hours of free time, settled back to read...And was totally disappointed.
I don't know if I've grown out of this type of book, or The author has changed, but I was bored. Yes, bored. Romance, mystery, ghosts...what's not to love? The answer...the writing. There seemed to be a lot of rambling. And i did not feel like I was immersed in the story. I was not drawn in. And the romance? What romance? They were in love in their teens, we're separated by a misunderstanding, reunited as adults and boom...they were just back together like an old married couple....like I said, boring.

Strangely enough, all the same payers are back in town, including Maura Antrim and Brock McGovern. They quickly find that all the denied emotions of the past have not faded. In a race to find two missing women and solve this decade long mystery, they reconnect to face the evil forces that initially tore their relationship apart.
Review: I received this book as an ARC from the author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I selected this book as soon as I read through the synopsis. I recently finished my first book of this genre (romantic thriller), and I've been dying to find another. The cover also played a small part in this selection. I've always enjoyed a good serial killer or a police procedural crime novel. Therefore, both the police tape and the color scheme of the book cover drew me in. I was also dying to find out what incendiary mystery the handsome central figure had in his past. Maybe I'm the only one who would find a smoking secret in a red-yellow gradient; but hey! Where there are flames, there's fire… or something thereabouts.
Ms. Graham does an excellent job of providing local color and Floridian history. Her descriptive details made me feel like I was walking through many of the locales. Being a researcher by nature, this book drove me to an even deeper dive into the creepy history surrounding the state. I was tickled to find that many facts stated in the book were accurate! I can't wait to plan my trip to visit a few of my newfound scary spots. While environmental development helped in lending authenticity to this book, the character development brought it to life.
I felt connected to the characters and rooted (ok, sometimes jeered) for them throughout the book. This connectedness was partially formed and supported by the awesome character index at the start of the book. I say partially because the index just helped me to keep the characters sorted 12 years later. This is super important as the story hits the ground running and never slows. We meet the characters as their 12-year-old selves. Experience their excitement at just being kids, then their sadness as that is taken from them. Fast forward to the present day, and we meet the same individuals as young adults. I loved how even though they were the same at the core, they all displayed the growth they had experienced as part of their earlier shared trauma. The new characters were also handled with the same care and blended seamlessly into the narrative.
Although the plot wasn't filled with many twists, the main mystery of the book was wonderfully developed. I had no idea who the villain(s) were right up until the big reveal. The love story is a touching second chance tale, but there wasn't a moment where I wondered if the main characters would get together rather than when. No worries though, this enhances rather than detracts from the love theme in this book.
If you're in the market for a great thriller/crime story with elements of romance, this may be the book for you. Now, you may be wondering why a 3-heart and not a 4-heart rating. It saddens me to say that I almost put this book down early. The writing style is just not my cup of tea, short sentences, and many internal conversations made it difficult to follow. However, this was easily dismissed once I got into the meat of the story. I found that I liked the backbone and concept of the story. Baring that in mind, I'd advise all those who are wavering on completing this story to forge through. It's worth it!
Maura and Brock had a thing in the past that was until a body was found handing and Brock was blamed for the death. Its been years and now Brock is an FBI agent, and Maura is around to help him solve the case on the missing women that seems to have ties to the past.
If you like a good mystery novel with some romance you'll like this book. I loved following along with the characters getting to know them and seeing as they piece together the mystery that is happening. This isn't a book that can easily be put down if you ask me, I pretty much spent my morning diving into this book and neglecting things around me. Now that I've finished I've unfortunately gotta go back to the real world. But trust me when I say that you'll be hooked by this book from start to end.
While the story was a good one, with a fabulous cast of well developed characters and a very engaging plot, the identity of the killer (at least ONE of them) was so insanely obvious and it frustrated me to no end that it wasn’t clear to the ones investigating the disappearances. Overall this was a great book, I just wish there were a few more plot twists to it that made it less predictable.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, the blurb grabbed my attention but the authors writing style really let it down. It was hard to follow who was saying what, and it tended to ramble on. I found it quite boring at times and struggled to finish it
I will admit that for me reading Heather Graham is always a comfort read. I get into her right away and she can keep me with the story. I love that in the books I read. I will tell you that I haven't read one of her Harlequin Intrigue's in forever. Heck, I haven't read any of those in a long time.
More often than not I just love her books but this one was 50/50 for me. This is a good, well-written story that didn't 100% work for me. I liked the characters very much and felt they are the main reason to read it. As always Graham writing makes you feel like you are there. She does a wonderful job bringing the place to life. I love when you read a book and you can see it in your head.
At times I found that the plot drags and it brought down the book for me. I'm not saying that I did like the story, I'm saying it's not one of my favorites. I wish the book was longer because I think that would have helped it. She might have had the word count to read flesh everything out. I'm not into rating books with stars (I'd rather tell you what I think) but if I had to this is a 3-star book. Good, but not great.
This book started out with an interesting concept. I liked the Florida lore, and how there was a parallel between what happened in the past and what was happening in the present. I also like how the author brought the characters back to the “scene of the crime,” albeit in different positions, 12 years after the fact. There were definite bones of a good story here (no pun intended). Unfortunately, the plot wandered about 2/3 of the way through, with the introduction of a strange piece of lore, a few seemingly pointed references that didn’t need to be included, and a muddled ending that is not as clear as it could have been. I ended with more questions than I had as I was reading the story. Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Intrigue, and the author for a complimentary, pre-release digital ARC of this book.
Terrific book that sucked me in right from the start. It began with a prologue when Maura and Brock were eighteen-year-olds working at a local resort. They were in love and had plans for the future. But the horrific sight of a body hanging from the notorious History Tree, and Brock's subsequent arrest as a person of interest, derailed their plans. Even though he was released almost immediately, Maura's parents had taken her away. Now Maura is back at the resort filming videos and fighting the memories. Brock, who followed through with his plans and became an FBI agent, is sent to the resort to investigate the disappearance of several women and the remains of another.
I enjoyed the rekindling of the romance between Maura and Brock. They were stunned to see each other again after so many years. Their initial interactions were awkward. Brock remembered his heartbreak as Maura disappeared from his life, and she spent years hurt and angry that he never contacted her. But underneath the awkwardness and anger burned the feelings that never went away. I liked seeing them reconnect and get to know the people they have become since the events twelve years earlier. As they spent time together working on the disappearances, the chemistry and feelings between them continued to grow. Brock was protective of Maura and worried about her as the investigation heated up. Meanwhile, Maura worried just as much about him. I felt Brock's fear over Maura's safety at the end, and Maura's confidence that he would find her. I liked how they came together at the end, with their young love maturing to match who they are today.
The suspense of the story was very good. I was drawn in immediately by Maura's recounting of the story of the history tree and the ghost Gyselle. The descriptions were vivid, and I felt as though I was there. The terror at the sight of the hanging body leapt off the page. Twelve years later, FBI agent Brock was specifically requested to come to Florida to help with the investigations. That the person doing the requesting was the same detective who had arrested Brock was a nice touch, and gave an extra layer of déjà vu to the story. Maura arrived at the same time to do a video about the History Tree with her client. The presence of so many of the people from that previous summer gave Brock a wide variety of possible suspects for his investigation as it began to look like the resort was at the center of the disappearances. Every time I thought I had the villain figured out, someone else would make me question my decision. The tension increased as Brock moved closer to solving the crime, and he became especially concerned for Maura's safety. I was on the edge of my seat as his fears came to pass. I loved Maura's presence of mind and determination as she refused to become a victim. The final confrontation had an unexpected twist to it, as my suspicions about one character proved true, but I was blindsided by the involvement of another.
I liked catching up with the characters from that first summer. Besides the changes that Brock and Maura went through, it was interesting to see what transpired for the others. Some truly surprised me while others hadn't changed at all. I also liked the bit at the end about Brock's life in New York and his connection with Finnegan's.
This book is a lot shorter than some of Heather Graham’s other works, but it is just as good. It is published under the Harlequin Intrigue line of books.
Maura Antrim and Brock McGovern work at a historical place where a lot of death has occurred around an ancient tree that intertwined with a palm tree. They call it the History Tree, although it is whispered it is the Terror Tree. People have been found dead around it or went missing after visiting it. During a tour where Maura and Brock lead a bunch of people around the sites, they discover the dead body of one of their co-workers. Brock is immediately taken into custody after an anonymous tip and Maura’s parents whisk her away from the scene immediately changing all her social media accounts and her email and phone number. The two didn’t have contact after that day.
The book starts with Brock, now an FBI agent, being asked to look into some disappearances of women down by the History Tree. He is cautious. Too many memories lie back in that place. That is why he made his home in New York, about as far north in America you can get without getting out of the country. Maura has started a very profitable business where she makes short videos that go viral and help other businesses make theirs a success. They meet again at the History Tree. Tension ensues.
I thought this book was great. Pretty slow in the beginning but we were being introduced to the cast, so it is not a section to overlooked. I felt like I was missing a few red herrings leading me to other suspects considering whom ended up being the ultimate bad guys. I tried to look back and see if I missed some subtle clues but I didn’t pick up on even one to indicate this person wasn’t completely on the up and up. It was indeed quite a surprising twist.
I am not certain what the ultimate purpose was in kidnapping the women but it did become the catalyst that brought Brock and Maura back together. I felt like they reunited too soon but it was about at the 50 percent point in the book when they rediscovered their love and realized why they had never found another significant person in their lives.
It was just the guilty please read I needed containing both and love, mystery and thriller. Definitely pick this up if you love a good intrigue.
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
3.5 stars - I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
This is a slightly spooky murder mystery and second chance romance. Ten years ago, Maura and Brock were witnesses to a grisly murder at a Florida resort. Now they’re back at the resort and Brock has to solve a new murder and a string of disappearing women that may be linked.
As a murder mystery, this resembles a classic Agatha Christie or Sherlock Holmes story more than it does most modern crime thrillers. The suspects and investigators are all living in close quarters at the resort and the ending is classic Christie. The result is a mystery that is slower and less bloodthirsty than most modern crime writing. It’s a relaxing read but I’m not sure the writing is quite strong enough to support the leisurely paced character focused story. None of the characters or suspects ever really came to life for me and the suspects were a little too bland for this style of murder mystery. I like to keep guessing until the end with whodunnit stories but this one doesn’t really allows readers to solve the story alongside the detectives. Even when the whodunnit is explained at the end, I didn’t get the ‘Of course!’ moment I’d been expecting. I like that I didn’t guess the ending but I always like to know I could have guessed the ending if I’d put all the pieces together correctly.
As a romance, this falls a bit flat. The focus is definitely the murder mystery and the romance isn’t paced very well. Brock and Maura feel much older than thirty - there is a formality to their relationship that suggests a much older generation. The gentle low heat fade to grey scenes will appeal to some readers but I really wanted something more to make me believe in these characters.
This is the kind of murder mystery I’d happily lend to my mother or grandmother. I’m guessing it will appeal to more conservative readers. There is a gentle Southern charm to the story and the characters but it failed to keep my attention at times and I personally prefer more action in my crime thrillers.
Maura Antrim runs into Brock McGovern after a twelve-year separation. They were childhood sweetheart separated due to a false accusation against Brock. After their separation, Brock experience sends him to join the FBI. Maura builds a career in filmmaking. The couple’s careers bring them back to where they lost each other, when another group of women disappears. Brock is the FBI agent investigating crimes very similar to the one that caused his arrest. Maura is filming. Maura and Brock team up to solve the mysterious disappearances and work through their past.
Tangled Threat is a good mystery with a second chance romance to boot. It does not take long for the couple to pick up where they left off. I’m not sure that is realistic, but it works for these characters. The author does an excellent job building the chemistry between these two characters.
The mystery is rather complicated, although I did guess the culprit early on. I’m not sure if it was a good guess on my part or the author wanted the reader to jump there, while she throws in clues that made me rethink my theory.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters held my attention from the start. As a second chance lover, I couldn’t help but hope that Maura and Brock find a way back together. There aren’t a lot of surprises, but the mystery is solid and made the pages turn quickly.
I love the scenic background that Heather Graham gives the reader. As a new Floridian, I followed up with additional research and plan to take a few day trips around the state.
If you like a good mystery with a bit of second chance romance as the cherry on top, grab Tangled Threat as your next escape. I’m always grateful for the opportunity to find this new-to-me author. I will search for more by her in the future.
This is a well crafted second chance romantic suspense, an edge of your seat read involving murder, history, love and mystery. As teenagers, Maura and Brock were working at the Framptom Ranch and Resort before murder separated them. They were in love but their discovery of one of their fellow members of staff murdered and hanging from the infamous History Tree put an end to their relationship. She was whisked away by her parents whilst he was arrested for the murder. He was quickly released but the two never met again until now, twelve years later.
Maura is a video producer and is helping Angie Parsons to create a film about local historic sites and macabre events in Florida. They are staying at the Framptom Ranch and Resort and Maura never anticipated that Brock would also be staying there. He's now an FBI agent who has been called in by the local police to help investigate just what has happened to some women who have disappeared mysteriously. With murders to be solved, victims to be rescued and dangers all around this is an intriguing story where events from the past impinge on the present. As they discover other people who were around twelve years ago, can these two discover just what happened to the women, keep safe and give their romance a second chance?
This story has a cast of possible perpetrators and is a great page turner with plenty of twists, turns and surprises all the way through. I found it an enthralling read and didn't want to put it down! I'll certainly look out for more by this author in future and have no hesitation in highly recommending this to anyone who enjoys reading romantic suspense.
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.
Tangled Threat by Heather Graham 2.5 stars M/F Thriller, Romance Triggers: Murder, Stalking I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
This all started with a murder when Maura and Brock were much younger. Almost headed off to college, they are working at the same resort when a member of the staff is murdered. Jump ahead several years and everyone is back, but for different reasons.
Maura and Brock were the "it" couple. But, when tragedy strikes, Maura is whisked away and Brock is arrested. Now, all grown up and in their own careers, they find themselves back at the resort with another murder looming over head.
That's pretty much the story. Even the romance within the story just didn't really develop. It was a flat romance with little to no dialogue and only after they rehashed the original crime for several chapters. The main characters danced around each other and the past, but seemed to be "over it" when they saw each other.
I liked the mystery within the book, but it ended so abruptly. I wish there had been less talk and description about the original crimes and history and more put in to the ending. It was almost anticlimactic. I was kind of disappointed in the story, because it had such potential. And, despite its exhaustive descriptions of the past, it was a fast read - meaning it didn't take long. Overall, I was underwhelmed and kind of bored.
So Maura is back at Frampton Ranch and Resort, a place she once worked at as a storyteller, it holds a history for her, a painful one ......
"The History Tree" has always been part of the Ranch ,it was part of the plantation before it became Frampton , anyhow , a young girl ,whose only crime was love was hung from that tree ,it was believed to have been cursed after that......
Now the stories told around these camp fires are more than stories, they're history so when it seems history is repeating itself we find Maura and Brock returning to a painful moment in their lives .....
Maura and Brock both worked at the ranch ,a young girl was murdered and Brock falsely accused .....
Brock now an FBI agent returns to investigate the case of 3 missing girls and the discovery of some bones ,there's the fear of a serial killer....
I enjoyed this ! There was murder, history, mystery, suspense and romance ,quite a few blocks ticked to make this little bookworm happy ! 📚♥️
Two teenagers working at a resort in Florida find a woman hanging in a tree. Afterwards, their relationship ends when one of them is arrested for the crime. Years later, they find each other again at the same resort. He is an FBI agent investigating the disappearance of three more woman. She is helping an author make a video about hauntings in Florida. When another girl goes missing, can they survive the threat to their lives and their love? I loved this book. It kept me up late until I could find out the identity of the culprit, and I was pleasantly surprised. The end had a twist I didn’t see coming. I enjoyed the comfortable relationship between the main characters, they never stopped loving each other and I thought that was sweet. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was an interesting story. I liked the idea of a Resort/Ranch in Florida steeped in all this history. It takes place in and around the surrounding area of St. Augustine. The characters are well developed and the story flows. Maura and Brock met at the ranch while they were working there for the summer when they were approx. 18-19. They left after a horrific incident took place; that changed the course of their lives. They return 12 years later; amidst stories of young women going missing. Can they perhaps solve the recent missing persons/remains and solve the 12 year-old mystery?
This was a fast-paced book that kept my interest right up to the end. I feel that this story could have been expanded into a much longer novel with more information and details that would have made it an even better intrigue novel. Not that I didn't like it as is; just that personally I would have appreciated some additional, more in-depth character development of some of the minor characters; as well as the main ones.
12 years ago Maura and Brock were teens working together when a woman was murdered and Brock was arrested for that murder...Now 12 years later Maura is back as a guest and videographer for her friend Angie and Brock is an F.B.I. agent once again at the ranch/resort because more women have gone missing and bones have been found near the resort....whatever had been going on all those years ago is still going on and if law enforcement can't figure it out more women will die.... Heather Graham writes excellent stories most with ghost paranormal vibes and exceptional story teller
I really enjoy some of this author's other series so I thought I'd give this one a try. I liked it well enough although not as much as some of her others. It was entertaining but was a little slow in places. I thought the overall story was entertaining but the pace didn't work for me. Not a bad book by any means but not where I'd start if you've never read this author before.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The synopsis for this book is good. Mysterious murders and two people determine for answers. Somewhere the story fell flat for me personally. I think die hard fans of Heather Graham will enjoy it.
A murder mystery that has all kinds of twists and turn that you won't be able to see coming. A tree on a property that has a spooky history is the setting for this story. There is a magnificent chemistry between the characters and the story line is wonderful
This story could have been great! If only the author could have stayed on track. It was so long and drawn out, not to mention all over the place. We really didn't need all the fillers with the history of buildings in a different town. I was bored. I needed to finish it to see who done it. But by the time we got there it was wham, bam and done.
