How I love the Book of Mormon! I testify that it is true. One of the glorious things about finishing it, is that I get to start reading it again. :)

June 20, 2020: I have no idea how many times I have read the Book of Mormon, but it has been LOTS!!! Yet, every time I read, it is like reading it for the first time. Each time I am at a different place in my life so different gems of truth speak to me. I testify that it is true. It, another testament of Jesus Christ, is such a gift to the world.

March 6, 2020: Nephi tells us in 2 Nephi 33 that two of his purposes for writing the Book of Mormon are: 1) persuade all to do good and 2) persuade all to believe in Christ. Moroni 17: 13, 16 "But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God...for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by power and gift of Christ..." I testify with every fiber of my being that the Book of Mormon has accomplished Nephi's purposes in my life. It is true!
January 12, 2020: Once again my testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel have been strengthened. How I love the Book of Mormon! I testify that it is true.
October 20, 2019 As I finished reading the Book of Mormon this morning i add my testimony to that of Elder Ruben V Alliaud that he shared in his October 2019 General Conference talk for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/s... I know with every fiber of my being that it truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. Russell M Nelson, a prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has said, "The truths of the Book of Mormon have the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen, console, and cheer our souls.” I extend an invitation to each person to prayerfully read it to discover its truthfulness and enjoy its blessings.

March 21, 2019 What a treat! I love the Book of Mormon and testify that it is true. I extend an invitation to all my friends and family to read the Book of Mormon and apply this counsel from Moroni 10:3-5
"Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

As usual with each reading something else seems to be important to me. Usually it has to do with what is going on in the world and my life at the present time. I've probably read this book clear through at least 50 times in my lifetime and it is always appropriate.

I don't normally put the standard works of scripture on my Goodreads, since I approach them differently than novels or even non-fiction about gospel topics. This year, however, I started my study of the Book of Mormon using this fantastic journal edition. For me, the wonderful message of the gospel of Jesus Christ was more easily approachable and understandable because of the layout in this journal, and I wanted a record of that in my reading journey.
In a good year, I'm pretty terrible about journaling, and when I bought this edition, it was before anything major in 2020 happened. I saw a friend's copy and was impressed with the layout of the text and how much available space there was on every page to take notes and record impressions. Once I received my copy, I started reading, studying, and journaling in a way that I hadn't before previously. Because 2020 has been so challenging emotionally, physically, and spiritually, I am so grateful that I had this journal edition of the scriptures to record my thoughts and feelings. Also, how cute is this cover?
I see that there are journal editions available for all of the standard works, and I'm excited to begin my study of those books as well (once they become available for purchase again, since they're currently out of stock . . .)

I love the Book of Mormon! And I loved this version because of all the journaling space on every page. The lined areas were so helpful during this study of the book that I completed.

Starting in 2018 with President Nelson's invitation, I read this journal edition from after October conference to the end of year. This was the third year. It has stayed a cherished tradition. A time for me to carve out focus on the Savior each Fall and December. I find it a stabilizing force as I focus on Christ each December.
