This is equally as hilarious as the first Grandma Dangerous book. The Egg of Glory is elusive and possibly just another forgery, or is it? I’ll write a full review shortly.

This book is full of humour, is fast-paced and has great pictures.

The story follows Ollie whose Grandma Florence is an explorer. "Behind her back, Mum calls her Grandma Dangerous." This is because she is fearless and adventurous and this leads her into perilous places. In this book, the second to feature Grandma Dangerous, Grandma Dangerous is on a mission to find the "Egg of Glory", a Faberge egg that has been stolen. This involves a sojourn in Russia and Ollie, his friend Piper, his posh cousin who Ollie doesn't like Thomas and Grandma's dog (an Egyptian Choodle to be precise) Rose are along for the ride.

Grandma is constantly telling little white lies to disguise her true intentions and she lives up to her name putting them all into lots of dangerous situations. But the book is a humour book with a fast pace. The illustrations along the way are also well done.

With another book due Grandma Dangerous is not slowing down any time soon.

Naughty Grandma alert. A great way to introduce American children to British language

in this book a priceless artefact has been stolen and nothing will get in grandams way to find it and return it. My favourite part of the book is how they have to keep it a secret from mum and not let her find out what they are doing otherwise they would both be in trouble. My favourite character has to bee the grandma because she is a gangster she seems really cool, one thing that i've learned from this book is that if you do something dont tell anyone your doing it except the people that matter to you.

Ollie, his best friend, Piper, and his posh cousin, Thomas, end up on the adventure of a lifetime with Ollie’s adventurous Grandma. Determined to find a stolen Russian artefact, Grandma Dangerous drags them all to Russia in her hot air balloon. But their mission is less than smooth and the group has encounters with a less-than-fresh fish soup, a large possibly-not-Russian man with a fake beard and several fake eggs! Can they catch the true criminal and return the artefact in just three days?

Strengths
This story is just as crazy as it sounds. The plot brings so many insane challenges and is outright absurb at times. I was very apprehensive going into this book as stories like this sometimes try to be so outrageous and so crazy and funny that they end up not making a lot of sense and falling very flat. This book, however, strikes the perfect balance between ridiculousness and interesting. The story will have readers laughing out loud, but will also engage them deeply with the plot.

I really enjoyed the characters in this story. Thomas, particularly, was an interesting character, and his development throughout the book is engaging and I think young readers will be able to understand his perspective.

Weaknesses
I personally found it quite easy to understand where the book was going and I predicted the “shock twist” at the end quite early on. I’d be interested to see if this was the case for any younger readers.

There were a couple of times where the plot was slightly lost among all the ridiculous activities going on. I found myself confused about what the characters were doing at times because the small details of their plan had been overshadowed by some crazy circumstance.

Summary
Overall, this was a funny and engaging read. I think younger readers will enjoy laughing out loud at this story and I think it will appeal particularly to boys. I will be purchasing a copy for my library.
