Loving a Bear & Wolf

Rate this book
As the Thirteen realize the Book Worms might be the answer to finding their mates, the unmated members go to protect the women who now have targets on their backs.

For Darragh Curran, the whole situation is bittersweet. Dar’s brothers, The Thirteen, mean everything to him and he’s grateful a few have finally found their mates, but now duty forces him to leave the man he loves behind and open himself to the woman who Fate says is his future.

Riordan Whelan hasn't been alone since the day he met Darragh when they were boys. It was a friendship that grew into love. After Darragh was selected for the Thirteen, Ri ignored the future without his Bear and lived in the moment. Then the day arrived and Darragh kissed him one final time before leaving for Ireland. Riordan knew the Dásreach had to come first but he wasn't ready to let go of the male he loved, so he jumped at the chance to follow him.

Amelia always put on a brave face, even as her eyesight degenerated and the life she’d known growing up slowly faded away. Reading, and later listening to, books was her escape and the Book Worms became her rocks. At her age, women typically had a boyfriend... not her. It was easier to dibs a book boyfriend than to find a real-life breathing one.

Josette Reuel has been creating stories since she was a small child. As an avid reader from her earliest memories, Josette enjoys many genres; however, her current passion is anything Romance. Oddly, it wasn't until her forties that her writing became a lot more grown-up. Josette believes in love at first sight, finding romance in the small things, and being open to exploring new things.

Josette writes M/F, M/M, menage, and reverse harem Contemporary, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance of varying degrees of heat. She also co-authors those genres along with Dark Romance with her critique partner, S.E. Isaac.

She believes in realism along with the fantasy and writes her characters with a variety of body types and backgrounds.

Her stories often fall within the "Forever Safe" sub-genre with their love at first sight, fated-love themes.

Meeting Amelia Ri realizes she is his mate but so is Darragh who thinks he needs just a female mate.
Darragh as one of the Thirteen each of whom needs to find his mate by the time he is forty. Three mates have already come from a group called the Bookworms so it is thought that maybe others in the group might be mates and could be in danger so they send those in need of a mate are send to guard them. Darragh is sent to guard legally blind Amelia but he already has a male lover in Riordan who he has loved since their teens. He does not want to leave Ri but feels he must for the good of the thirteen. Ri sees a picture of Amelia and feels pulled towards her but Dar is pushing him away. A shifter romance to relax and enjoy.

Love, love, loved this story will be looking for more by this author.
The Dasreach is a different take on shifters, but one I loved. It brings in the Great Spirt and some Native American leads into it as well as making it about tribe and family, and protected ting the earth.
This reads well as a stand alone but it makes me want to read prior books and any following in the series.
This is a story of 3 mates finding each other, some sex but minimal and only mildly explicit.
A must read for shifter lovers.

This is the first book by Josette Reuel that I have read and it will not be the last. This story took us to a whole new level and into places we have not really completely traveled too and she did it with her amazing ability of storytelling that we have all come to love and wait for as each new story comes out and to life within our minds. The words seem to jump off the page and you can't read them fast enough but you don't want to miss anything either. Cannot wait to read more from this author.

This a beautiful MMF paranormal romance that is well written the story of Amelia, Ri and Dar is a sexy and moving read. While this is book 5 in the series, it is easy to pick up the background storyline and does not reduce the experience of reading the series out of order. This book is can easily be read as a standalone.

I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased , honest review.

The fifth installment of this series captures normal relationship doubt. Amelia, Ri and Dar tackle these doubts in very different ways, but ultimately come together to solidify their relationship. Josette Reuel has once again shown very beautifully how love has no bounds! Full of action and sass and one step closer to finding who the traitor is at the Council, this is a MMF romance you won’t want to miss! Highly recommend. 5 out of 5 stars.

When you find a book of THIS quality, you don't just shrug and move on. Nope. You read everything the author has ever written. I sometimes so fall in love with a story that I want the rest of the series on hand to have a read-a-thon. And this is one of them.

Writing this book was a long time coming. I am so excited to finally have it available for my fans and for the amazing young woman the character, Amelia Winter, is based on. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did creating it.
