Hazel and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA. Though they haven’t managed it yet, plans are afoot to add a kitty to the household, thereby giving the allergist fits.

Hazel has been writing full-time for several years, with some traditionally published work in other genres. But it’s her indie-published romance that fuels the creative fire. It turns out writing isn’t a job, it’s an obsession.

When you can pry Hazel’s fingers from the laptop, you’ll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush. Although she’s vegan, she’s a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.

Mael
Immortal Highlander, Clan Raith Book 2 (A Scottish Time Travel Romance)
By Hazel Hunter

Rosealise Dashlock is a no nonsense person and she doesn't mess about. Now she has landed naked in some ruins and has been rescued by a huge Highlander and she's got questions. What is the name of this Scottish warrior? Why they share the same tattoos? And what mysterious force immediately draws her to him? As she has no memory of how or why she is there and she gets stabbing pains in her head every time she tries to remember she needs help, but all is not what it seems with this beautiful lady.

Mael Mag Raith is the clans gental giant, but he finds his patience sorely tested with Rosealise. He would do anything to protect her, but she has a will made of iron and a certain talent for getting her way which has him rather baffled, but things will come to light. Things that can either break a man or make him better.

As the clan tries to sort out her sudden appearance, their enimies will not rest. Druid kind and Sluath now hunt the Mag Raith together and both are all too willing to do whatever it takes to destroy them.

Hazel Hunter is absolutely incredible. She will take you from your sweetest moment to your worst nightmare in one book, but I guarantee you that you will enjoy it. If your looking for a book filled with love, light, darkness, evil, and magic then this is the book you are looking for. I really like how Ms. Hunter can take these Immortal Highlander's and help them find love.

I do read too much, why when I read new installment in series, I need sometimes to remember the previous plot and this series has its lot of plots and vilains.
But it was a pleasure to dive back in this astonishing paranormal time travel romance.
Difficult to write about this story without giving up too much revelations.
Maël is the usual Highlander as Mrs Hazel Hunter knows how to create them, strong but also caring and deeply in need of a gentle soul to soothe his hunger for love.
Rosealise is the mystery of this new book, I liked that for once she is not like always the classic modern woman trapped in the past, in herself she is an enigma, her speech and manners are very different from Jenna, the other woman rescued in the previous book.
This confrontation of time period added to the background plot.
Few things moved in this second tale but it enlightened about the different members of the clan.
One more great read.

Mael Mag Raith wants the same thing his chieftain has a true love and wife, but his past will get in the way. Rosealise Dashlock is falling and is about to land, but can only remember her name. When she literally lands on a gorgeous man their quittance begins. Can she remember who she is and where she came from? Can he over come his past to find the love he's seeking? Who's watching the Mag Raith and when will their enemy show their faces again?

Mael Mag Raith is on patrol one night and thinking about how his chieftain has changed with the love of his wife. An approaching storm garners his attention but its the object falling from the clouds that keeps it. Rosealise doesn't know how she came to be falling through the sky or why but shoots for just missing the light she sees below. She lands in a very provocative position directly on a extremely gorgeous man. He's unconscious. Rosealise is instantly attracted to the man but knows she's never met him before. Mael awakes finding a beautiful woman kneeling beside him. They introduce themselves and he takes her back to the castle. Jenna takes her to get some clothes and explain the situation to her but leaves out certain aspects of their lives. Rosealise starts helping get the castle into shape as she gets to know her new friends. Mael and Rosealise are attracted to each other and grow closer over the days. His brother thinks that she is the woman he's been remembering in his dreams but keeps the information to himself but finds ways to be around her. When some traps are triggered that brings Mael and Rosealise closer together. She learns the truth about the Mag Raiths and takes traveling from the underworld and through time in stride. She remembers some of her past when the two of them are trapped together. They become lovers. A map is left of her to find and she brings it to the others. It helps them to explore the castle and its strange design. Rosealise realizes that she is dying and only has a few months to live. When Mael's over protectiveness causes a rift between the two of them his brother sees that as an opportunity and reveals his dreams to Rosealise. They share a kiss only to be seen by Mael who is too angry to really listen to the explanation. Rosealise thinks she sees Mael so she follows him to talk about their recent misunderstanding. Mael sees her wants to make sure she's safe so he follows. They end up in an unknown tunnel and are transported back into the underworld. They try to find their way out and during their search they come across other slaves. She helps him to see he doesn't need to feel guilty about what he was going to do and she remembers who she was before she almost died. They figure out that there is a way to escape the underworld and take it fighting the whole way. When they return to their time several months have passed. The Mag Raith's are happy to have them back with them again. They realize that they can't live without each other. That the trip back from the second visit to the underworld has mad Rosealise immortal and healed her illness. They tell each other that they love the other. Mael makes a declaration.

Hazel Hunter's second book in the Mag Raith series of Immoral Highlanders leaves you with some questions and hopefully answers in the remainder of the series. Like will they ever be able to confront their watcher? Can the Sluath find them or will the clan fall for their trap in the village. Who's next to get the love of their life from the underworld? Honestly, I can't wait to find out all these questions and what surprises are in store for the Immortal Highlanders Mag Raith clan and get my suspicions confirmed and the questions answers.

Intriguing series

This is the second book in the Immortal Highlander, Clan mag Raith paranormal romance series. As with the previous 2 fantasy series set in the Scottish highlands by Hazel Hunter, I have enjoyed reading this new set, which pits 5 immortal Pritani (early Scots) against demons and an evil Druid who has abandoned the morality of his faith in pursuit of his own immortality. The latter's goal is to resurrect his true love and make her immortal also.
The immortal Highlanders have taken over a ruined castle full of traps and an unwelcome inhabitant. They stay because it is a defensible position, and it can make immortal the women they wait for. Five Pritani and very probably five women all escaped the demons who held them captive. The men and women conspired to escape together, but for some unknown reason, the women did not escape together. Only 2 have arrived, the second in this novel. They have figured out that their castle is the likely place all will arrive. The mystery surrounding the men and women, their escape, the enigmatic tattoos mates share, the threatening presence of the powerful inhabitant who may have something to do with their escape from the underworld, and the plight of the druid and demons who hunt them makes for an exciting read. In addition, the romance between each newly appearing female and her mate is titillating. I only give 4 stars this time because the flashbacks and events that result from falling into a trap are often confusing to figure out. Also, I would have enjoyed more romance. All in all, the author is very creative and imaginative.

Mael Mag Raith and his clan have excaped the demons that took them prisoners long ago. When they got free and landed back on earth they had no memory and was talked into serving a dishonest druid named Galan with a lie that he had brought them back. When a women returned the same way. They found out he lied and left with her for dun chaill. The women is Jenna and she turned out to be one of the men's (Domnal) other half in the demon world .
The others in the clan are fargus, Broden, Edane, and Kiaran.
Rosalie Dashlock had excaped the Slucth (demons ) on earth she is with the Mag Raith and Jenna. But she has no memory of her past her time with the demons or her other half. Yet.
Galan, the Druid was been kicked out of the druids, his position has head of the moss dapple . Losing his power he has dug his hole even deeper and made a deal with the Slucth to turm over the mag Raith to them for the demons to bring back his long dead human wife. Or so they said they would. But there demons right .I don't see that working well for him lol. That's just my opinion guess we will see.
Lots of amazing twist and mystery to the story. I love the characters. It has drama, spice, intrigue, betrayal, magic, and so much more. Don't miss it because it fantastic.
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

When I read this book I really enjoyed the fact that instead of taking a modern woman Hazel brought forth an earlier governess or housekeeper from England. Too often we see the tales of modern women being taken back in time so it was a bit refreshing to see something different.

Mael was always a big man. He was the spitting image of his father who was abusive to his wife and children before he was taken away. He doesn't think he will ever encounter a woman who will see that he really is just a teddy bear inside instead of a brute. Rosealise winds up in the clan, he is shocked to learn that she actually prefers hims over the other members of the clan.

Rosealise discovers that her power she gained may just be something to be feared. I don't want to go into what it is as that would be a spoiler, but sufficient to say that maybe everyone isn't too keen of it.

They will have some ups and down, but will they be able to keep things together for the clan? Will Rosealise be able to control this power of hers so it will be a benefit to the clan? Read the book to find out the answers to these questions. I voluntarily read an ARC, but know I will go back to read this series again to keep the story fresh as new books get released.

Awesome book. I could have given it 5 stars (or more) before even reading the book but now that I’m done I really regret there are no more stars to give. Like all of Hazel Hunters books you’ve got hot, hunky heroes and kick butt women. In this case it’s Mael and Rosealise. This is the second book in the Mag Raith clan and while it stands alone, you’ll definitely get more out of it if you read book 1 first. We get more information on the warriors and their backstory and we meet Mael. His father was big and brutal and he’s afraid everyone sees him that way. Rosealise sees the truth and thinks he’s wonderful though so they get an HEA. Well developed characters that you’ll love and root for. You’ll catch up on the others in the clan and they’ll have obstacles to overcome. I love that the women are such perfect matches for the men in this series and the women aren’t useless burdens. They contribute their own knowledge and skills. Plan enough time to read this straight through. If you haven’t read book 1 yet, what are you waiting for? You’ll want to finish in one sitting, so plan ahead and hide out if necessary. There are no good stopping points. Very highly recommended. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

Mael finds his English Lady❣️

Mael goes outside to look at the maze, only to be knocked over by a naked woman😍 She has no memory of her life before she landed on the hulk of a man but he seems familiar and she is instantly attracted to him. When he tells her how she came to be there, she thinks his crazy 😜

Rosealise brings with her another time traveller, which causes a bit of envy and jealousy amongst one of the other men and Mael, and unravels more of this time period and castle in which they find themselves. The demons are once again up to no good and Galan continues his search for the Mag Raith Clan.

This book is quicker paced than the first but perhaps it’s just me getting used to the way in which the characters speak which is quickening😂 Suffice to say I really fell in love with Mael and his English lady and at one point, I was ugly crying....so tissues is a must to have on hand.

Thank you to Hazel for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review and I eagerly await Edane’s story next😍

A step back in time affords readers the opportunity to look inside the lives of five Pritani men and women who have literally 'fallen through time'.

Mael is in a wooded area when he sees something very unusual...something that changes his life and that of his clan. The encounter answers some questions as well as stirs the fire in his blood. And so the story begins.

Once again readers are privy to a powerful story of time travel and hidden agendas and danger...it's all around and often in places you would least expect it.

I found myself flipping pages as fast as possible and losing some sleep time because I was determined to finish. And, I must say I would do it again because the end was worth the effort!

There are plenty of twists, interesting characters and some PG moments you won't want to miss. This one is a page-turner that rewards the author with 5 well-earned stars. Flawless.

These get really con… These get really confusing if you don't read them all together. It took me so long to get into this one but I had to go back to the last one and then do a recap with the other series just to get the characters back in mind. This one was okay but after all that going back I'm ready for something to be resolved. These are pretty much the same so I think they should each have different problems.

Since this clan isn't large I'm hoping the author will give them all mates so maybe if the next one the solve one of the issues something else can come up. Just following the same problem with all the guys is going to get really boring. Hopefully in the next one they will figure out what's going on in the castle and get rid of him or maybe takeout Galen. Something at this point will be better then letting the same issue get drug out.

I loved this book! I love the tie in to the 19th century UK as well. Rosealise is an amazing character and it was nice to see someone from a different time period join the clan. While I love the crossovers with modern times, I think this is my new favorite because of that tie to the 19th century. I enjoyed the story and how close Rosealise and Mael become and the ties between them. I admit, I wish I had her powers of persuasion as it would make my work life much easier, but I also like that she is hesitant to use it and struggles to find a way to control it so as to not force others to do what they do not want to do. This was a great second book in an interesting series by an amazing author and I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us.

I thought Mael, Book Two in the Clan Mag Raith series, could never live up to Domnall & Jenna’s story in Book One. I was wrong about that.

Instead of a modern-day woman mysteriously swept back to the past, this time it’s a headstrong, no-nonsense 18th century Miss. Rosealise crashes into Mael at Dun Chaill, and their fate is sealed. They belong together. As they fight through turmoil, chaos, and evil forces, will their love, friends, and family be enough to save them?

Mael is a must read for all fans of time-travel and romance. The book works as a standalone novel, but I highly recommend reading Domnall, Book One first. It will increase your enjoyment of this story.

I read this book through the Kindle Unlimited program.

Amazing, sexy and exciting read…..
This was another great book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading it was a terrific pleasure. Based in the nineteenth century the character Roesalise who has crossed over into a time that is foreign to her, she has not the felt sorry for herself but has made the best of a difficult situation.
Mael and Rosealise connection is one that grows over time I very much enjoyed the interaction between the two characters, the description of the period as well was excellent, I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Hazel Hunter never ceases to amaze me with her talent at creating characters that are larger than life and with personalities that are vibrant and reach out and touch the reader. The world building is expertly done and will transport you from the humdrum of your every day into a world that is hard, dangerous and exciting. Mael and Rosealise are a perfect example of opposites attracting but their chemistry is so undeniable that they can't help but give in but things won't be easy for them and danger and obstacles abound. Join these wonderful characters on this epic journey that they undertake together.

Well-developed storyline with twists, action, intrigue, danger and romance. Mael’s story gives us more of an insight into the conditions in the Underworld and an inkling as to why the traps in the castle have been developed. Rosealise’s new ability causes quite a stir at first, but with training, she manages to master it. This book was hard to put down as I just wanted to know what was coming next. I highly recommend this book.

Good read

Better than the first book, things also feel more settled in this 2nd book. I usually like the first ones where it sets the scene, but Domnall's book wasn't written as well as the other firsts. This one is improved. At first I thought English people don't speak Victorian English!! Then later its explained Rosealise did come from 19th century. We get a more detailed view of the Underworld, of this mysterious Cul, and see Galan fall even further. All in all can't wait for the next book.

The second book is just as good as the first book. Another woman drops from the sky, landing in a century way before the one she came from and her fall was broken by a man from the past. As she remembers her past with the demons, she also remembers her savior. With each new character in this series, the overall plot just keeps getting better. The action and suspense just keeps you reading. I'm looking forward to book 3.

Wonderful series...

Feeling like she has no control over her life, a surprise proposal/wedding sends Aria over her breaking point. She becomes a runaway bride. When Wheeler finds Aria in his barn, he's unprepared for how his life will change. Will the two be able to help each other overcome their "issues"? While this is the second story in the series, it doesn't need to be read in order.

Rosealise is amazing!
I loved this book from start to finish.
Full of exciting page turning action but it also had me on the edge of my seat with the suspense.
The characters are all brilliant with amazing personalities, Mael is big and strong with a low self-esteem and a heart of gold, I loved him.
And Rosealise is kind-hearted and very sweet and forever trying to stop any kind of fighting.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series

The Mag Raith series has been captivating from the first book. This time around Mael Mag Raith gets his due. The clan members have are settling into Dun Chaill as they make it their home. Rosealise snatched from her time is hurtled through time and space to medieval times landing atop Mael. The story is entrancing, weaving together great plot and characters. I look forward to the next story in this series.

Rosealise knows what she wants and works until she gets it...that means Mael is what she's after. The push and pull between them ranges through all emotions. The story also includes the Mag Raith clan. There is love, suspense, adventure and a great writer who tells their tale. I am an ARC reader who loves her job. I voluntarily wrote this review. It's official, I have a new favourite story in this series. Mael and Rosealise's is fantastic. Jealousy between brothers added into the mix, lots of romance, action and manipulation in this one. Beautifully crafted with great characters and excellent research. This one reads like a dream, I was complusively turning the pages until the end.

I didn't read the first book in this series so it took a bit to catch up. Rosealise gets dealt one bad hand after another. Thrust into a demon realm brings her Mael. This story is full of heart and intrigue. I really enjoyed this twisted tale. I received an advanced copy of this book. I freely leave this honest review.

We continue in the Scottish Highlands in this second book of the series. This time it's the tracker & second, Mael that's in for a surprise when Rosealise drops out of the sky. The story wheel keeps turning as we learn more about the Clan and the demon's who are after them. The author does a great job of keeping us on our toes.

Great

I love these stories. This one is about Mael, a gentle giant who controls his strength well, and Rosealise the woman who bears his mark and his heart. She was taken from another time. Though their adventure occurs within the castle, it is exciting and time passes before you know it.

Mael is the clans gentle giant. Rosealise lands in Scotland literally on top of Mael. She doesn't remember anything about herself except her name. This book continues from book 1 (with a new couple). I enjoyed this book as much as I did book 1. Book 3 here I come.

It's Mael mag Raith, the seneschal of the clan, turn to meet his mate when Rosealise Dashlock, his complete opposite, lands on top of him, naked of course with matching skin work, seemingly from out of the night sky. Once Mael gets to know Rosealise's character, he gives her the ultimate in compliments when he describes her as an "iron wildflower...Such beauty, and yet so sure and strong." However, Rosealise is the prim and proper Englishwoman and totally out of place in fourteenth-century Scotland.

Galan and the Sluath are still searching for Domnall and the hunters with no success. Realizing that the portals to the underworld are all closed, Prince Iolar is beyond angry. The Sluath desecrate the entire village of Wachvale, laying waste to everyone in their path.

Cul continues to watch from the shadows of Dun Chaill, setting his traps in hopes of evicting the hunters and their mates. Cul continues to plot his revenge against the Sluath and anyone who stands in his way while Mael and Rosealise fall (back) in love as one more highlander reunite with his mate.

Fantastic story! These just keep getting better. Although I’m still confused but I’m okay with that. Make and Rosealise had such a struggle to endure. There’s definitely darkness found within these pages but there is love as well. I loved watching them together at the end and how the escaped together. Pure beauty. Anxious to keep reading!
