What an appropriate title after reading
"Silent Deception"
by Peyton Banks!
Heroine, Jazz Tyson is in a marriage of convenience of sorts and has had a bodyguard assigned to her for the past three years due to her husband, Denton Tyson's shady business deals. Her protective bodyguard's name is Charlie "Big Country" Shepherd and he's good at what he does... as bodyguard/ killer and it's all in a day's job. So when Jazzy's husband was murdered, Country stays on regardless to protect the woman he had loved from afar since day one!
This was an engaging story where you really needed to read in between the lines because things aren't what they seem! "Silent Deception" was a quick page turner for me but I didn't even see that shocking ending coming! And Denton's business partner, Lewis Otto surely got what he deserved but the character who killed Denton was most definitely a surprising one! Like I said, things are not what they seem!
What a satisfying HFN ending for Jazzy and Charlie aka Big Country! Hope the author give us more on this couple soon!

This book, a little over 100 pages, was a very quick, but satisfying read. It is a romantic suspense, murder mystery that was fairly condensed. The story revolves around Jazz Tyson, her son Aden, and their bodyguard, Charlie.
The book opens with Jazz preparing to go to her husband’s funeral. Her deceased husband’s best friend, Lewis, is trying to insinuate himself in Jazz’s life ostensibly to aid and comfort her. That is a simplification of the plot, but I just had to see how everything was resolved. There was a twist that I never saw coming. That was satisfaction right there. The sex was hot and intense.
My only major criticism of the book is that the background information on Jazz’s father and their relationship was very sketchy, with very little insight given. I also would have liked more of Charlie’s background and military service. I did note a couple of editing issues, but they were of little consequence overall.
Hence, this was a nice little nugget to read for an hour or two of my day.

This "romance" (if this book belongs in that category) features a shy virgin that gets fingered in public, then gets banged on top of her car (by a dude that just got done banging a married MILF bareback in his office) in a auto shop while three other guys watch.
This book should be a porno script, not a romance book.
I don't see how a bumbling virgin goes straight to exhibitionist, voyer, MMMMF groupie. When the cuckolding scene with the MILF in the office started, I was done with this book, I finished it only to see if it improved - it didn't, if anything it gets worse.
The best feature of this book - it's short.
If I hadn't gotten this book for free, I doubt that I would have read it. If offered another of this author's books for free, I will not read it.

This was a very short BWWM novella. I thought it was a fun read for what it was, but as with many novellas, there wasn't much character development or story build. Everything went super fast, but with that said, it was pretty hot. You've got a widow with an abusive husband and his security guard that he hired to watch over her basically falls in love with her. Pretty predictable. However, there are some surprising twists in this and you've got a murder mystery in there, so it makes it a bit more interesting. Good love scenes too. So if you want a decent bedtime story, this might work for you. 3.5 stars.

I it was so short that a lot was missing. For instance how old are they both? How exactly did she meet her husband? It was all very isolated, do they have friends, family? How does the couple interact with them? Now that the husband is dead, what’s next? How are they going to deal with what’s next?

Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and raw passion, strength, happiness with a happily ever after. Erotic with a major turn on. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

Loved Charlie and Jazzy. He was the large stoic bodyguard in love with his charge. She was the trophy wife married off by her father to a monster who cheated and abused her. She seemed to finally be free when her husband was suddenly Murdered. But his business partner tries to step in and make waves. Their relationship is hot and steamy and one of devotion loyalty and protection. Loved this short book.

So..SILENT DECEPTION is my first Peyton Banks book...and I liked it...I could feel the connection between Charlie and Jazz...Obviously, I was surprised by the last twist...and I liked that if the author hadn’t told me this was an interracial love story, I wouldn’t have known...because it just didn’t matter...♥️🌼

I did not quite understand this one, as it felt like a short novella done as a follow up to a previous book. Or, the conclusion from from a cliffhanger! Jazz and Amber seem to be Apples that did not fall too far from the Tree! Daddy was said to be a fully engaged gangster and it appears his daughters can fully follow in his footsteps and take care of the business!

Quick action packed read..
Big Country was in love with the woman he was hired to protect. He was devotedly looking out for her welfare for years . The unexpected twist was that she was able to make the hard choices to take care of them BOTH. Did not see THAT coming!

I bought this book because the cover was HOT🔥🔥🔥. And the inside matched!! I want me some country 🤤🤤🤤. I loved the story and the twist at the end had my jaw hitting the floor!!! Can't wait to read more books by Peyton Banks!

Wonderful story. Only 110 pages but I felt the passion, devotion, and love. In these few short pages was a murder mystery, physical and emotional abuse, infidelity, betrayal by business partner, and a shocking twist from left field. Great writing. I definitely recommend.

It was a good read which continued to peaked my interest.
Charlie and Mrs. Tyson have a “silent” strong relationship. It’s a very good short story.

Silent Deception is so appropriately named. I loved slipping into this world for about two hours of my day. Do I wish there was more backstory with her dad and Charlie? Yes. Was it good as is? Also yes. This book is a perfect reset between bigger longer reads.
