I did not realize that this book is a part of a series with the characters of Freddie, Anna and Tanya. However, I found the book and the characters easy to latch unto. The book has the right ingredients for a thriller with the background of crime & the underworld - it is fast paced; has well developed characters and the suspense holds right till the end.

Freddie Tyler’s writ runs over large parts of central London. His girlfriend Anna runs a nightclub which is doing very well. Anna is passionate about her business which she runs with her close friend Tanya, and is also looking to expand. Tanya is a little worried when her boyfriend Tom also wants into the underworld, rather than sticking with a low paying job he holds. Tom is keen to work with Freddie though and makes great efforts to fit in.

Freddie sees the opportunity for a deal with the mafia to open casinos in London when he meets with Frank Gambino. Gambino however wants Anna’s club in order to help Freddie. All of a sudden Anna goes missing. Could Gambino have broken the rule of not touching the other’s families? Old enemies? Other gangs looking to expand and using Anna to get to Freddie?

The build-up of suspense is very good, and the character development through the story as well. I liked the writing – as it is very clean and focused.

Definitely recommended if you like crime & suspense novels.

My rating: 4.5 / 5.

This is the third book in the series about the Tyler's and their family and friends. Anna is under pressure as she is busy with her West End nightclub and the opening of their new club. Her boyfriend Freddie Tyler owns nearly all of London's West End. Freddie has also got lots of enemies. Freddie is hoping to go into business with crime boss Frank Gambino, but will the deal run smoothly? I don't want to say anymore as it would spoil the plot!

Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. The main characters are back and I like them all for different reasons ie: the bond between Anna and her business partner Tanya, the way Freddie, even though he's a bad guy, loves and protects Anna. I do like a book that's set in the criminal underground. This is a fast paces edge of your seat read. It's both dark and gritty with a storyline that's gripping from beginning to end. If you are a fan of Kimberley Chambers, Martian Cole or Mandasue Heller you will enjoy this book/series.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author Emma Tallon for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A gritty edge of your seat story that you will not be able to put down!

Few! That was one tension filled story! This is the third book in this dark and gritty series that takes place in London’s criminal underworld... all the books in the series are so brilliantly crafted, perfectly paced, and best of all full of amazing characters... as I’ve mentioned in my previous reviews this series reminds me so much of General Hospital... simply because Freddy reminds me of Sonny Corinthas (but taller).... Freddie is one of those lovable bad guys that will worm his way into your heart!

In this book Anna is working hard at her club Anya and planning the opening of a second club... Freddie is busy taking over his little corner of London... don’t even want to say much more than that, the rest of the book is one wild and crazy nonstop heart pounding tale... dark, gritty, edgy, and definitely not for the faint of heart...

The plot of this story was definitely mind blowing, but my favorite part is the characters and their relationships... Anna is such a strong self-sufficient girl who has really come a long way throughout the series... her strong friendship with Tonya is truly the highlight of the series for me, these girls are both rock stars in my eyes and I love love love their bond!Freddie is the best kind of thug... when it comes to Anna and the rest of his family he has a huge heart and will stop at nothing to protect them...

A compelling story that will keep you up long past your bedtime, heart pounding and mind blowing! Recommend!

Anna Davis has been managing her rather difficult life pretty well. Being involved with a criminal has its price, but Anna really is happy. Currently, Anna, who owns clubs with best friend Tanya, is being threatened. Powerful boyfriend Freddie Tyler has no idea what Anna is dealing with. Anna is struggling with Frank Gambino, a crime boss who wants her club. If she doesn't give in to his plans then Freddie's life will be in danger. So could her own life, but all Anna can think of is protecting Freddie.

Freddie already owns most of London's West End, but he desperately wants his next deal to go through. If it does, the Tylers will be even more powerful than the Gambino family. What Freddie does not realize is that his Anna has been threatened. This is a secret that Anna keeps from him, thus straining their relationship. While Anna is concerned with keeping this secret from Freddie while she strives to work things out on her own, she doesn't realize that she herself is in grave danger. She is being watched.

When Anna is discovered missing, Freddie is beside himself. He has a policeman in his pocket, but neither Freddie nor the police can find out who grabbed Anna and whether or not she is even alive. Freddie will stop at nothing to bring the woman he loves back to him. Freddie has good reason to worry about Frank Gambino and also Tanya's boyfriend Tom.

What a riveting book! The danger begins at the outset and never, ever lets up. As this book was developed there was absolutely no doubt as to the bond shared between Anna and Freddie and also Anna and Tanya. It was truly touching. The book is fast-paced, with surprising twists and turns. Although the backdrop of a criminal world was dark, the connection I felt to the characters was palpable. Not only was the conclusion done exceptionally well, there was sadness and suspense. So much so that there is yet another book in this engrossing series.

The first two books are Dangerous Girl and Runaway Girl. In those books we got to know Anna, Freddie and Tanya. In this book, Boss Girl, the background is dealt with well, so this does a fine job as a standalone. However, the entire series is gripping and so the other books make excellent reads.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Tylers are back!!
The third in the series about this family and their friends...and enemies
The book can be read as a stand alone or part of the series and works well both ways but if you read book 1 and 2 you will be keen to follow the latest turmoil and adventure of the familiar faces of Freddie, Anna and Tanya amongst the other ‘regular cast’ with new stars including Frank Gambino, a Mafia boss who rolls in from New York and gets more than he bargained for
Emma Tallon has the genre down to a tee and all the elements are again there...families, feuds, nightclubs, crossing and double crossing, goodies, baddies and goodbadgoodies 😃
I really love this type of book and find myself 100% involved and part of it,all the scenes are set for you and you ‘dive in’ and get taken along at breakneck speed
This book deals with a harrowing kidnap, more than that will leave you to find out other than to say its a great story and kept me on edge waiting to see how it would end and who the kidnapper was
Perfect for lovers of gangland family stories, exciting, real and hard hitting

Boss Girl is part of a series of books featuring Anna, her best friend Tanya and Anna’s boyfriend Freddie. I haven’t actually read any of the other books but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment whatsoever of this one. I am now desperate to go and read the others though after loving this one.

If you love stories set in the criminal underworld, you will love this one. The friendship between Tanya and Anna I loved. They are both strong women who have obviously been through a lot. That bond is very much there through out the story. Freddie, I pretty much fell for straight away. He is a lovely bloke but there is also a side to him that whilst scared me, also thrilled me.

I don’t want to say to much about the story line itself as to do so would spoil it for other readers. It is an edge of your seat read though with many heart stopping moments where I was literally beside myself to see how things turn out for the characters by the end. This isn’t probably one for the more faint hearted reader but if your not, you will love it.

Boss Girl is a dark and gritty read that I absolutely loved. There were so many parts that had me literally biting my nails and the build up of tension and suspense as to who is behind it all was electrifying. Can’t recommend highly enough and will definitely be reading the other books in the series.

My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Boss Girl from Emma Tallon is the third book in the Tyler series. This book can easily read as a standalone, as I have not read any of the other books in the series. Emma Tallon is a new author for me.
Anna Davis is under pressure. She is the Boss of Club Anya and now opened a comedy club with business partner Tanya. It’s opening night and they celebrate with Anna’s boyfriend and gangland boss Freddie Tyler, who owns most of London and Tanya’s boyfriend Tom, who wants a slice of the pie that Freddie has and asks if he can start working for him. The story continues when Freddie and Anna gets burgled and then Anna gets kidnapped. Freddie thinks that the only person that can be responsible is mafia boss Frank Gambino that has arrived from America.
If you love stories about the British criminal underworld, then this book is for you. I loved this book from the very first page. It gripped me from the start and totally drew me in. It had great characters and l liked how gritty and suspenseful the story was. But, also the rivalry between the gangs. I can’t wait now and read the rest in this series and to see what else Emma Tallon has in store in the future. I am so glad I chose this and thank NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book. massive big 5 stars from me.

I am absolutely loving this series. Emma Tallon really only gets better with each book that she releases and Boss Girl is without doubt the best book she has written so far. A real force to be reckoned with in this genre, I can’t wait for the next one to continue the story of Anna, Freddie and Tanya. A truly gripping gangland drama with a fantastic cast of characters.

Would I recommend it: yes

Will I be reading more by this author yes

in fact it was recommend to me by two of my friends , and I'm so glad I listened about this book , its fast paced, keeps you on the edge of your set, the characters are easy to like even the bad guys ( at least some of the bad guys ). All I can say is once you start reading it you don't want to put it down , its one of those books that grabs you and won't let go until the ever end , it makes you want to know , no I take that back ,you have to know what is going to happening next and it won't let you down. Its the type of book that makes you want to just set there and read to the very last page , With that said I want to thank Netgalley and Bookoutre for letting read and review it exchange for my honest opinion .

My thoughts

Well I have to say I was thrilled to be reading this book. I absolutely loved Runaway Girl and Dangerous Girl, so I was eager to get back in to the lives of the characters I've been getting to know, and what characters they are. Emma certainly has a knack of creating memorable characters. Her writing style is unique, being dragged in to the story and pulled along before you are left absolutely breathless at the end. Emma is way up there now amongst the best authors of this genre and without even knowing the title or reading the blurb Emma is one of those authors for me now, who no matter what the book is, I will need to read it. It's hard when you read so many books to keep getting something different, something fresh. This author certainly manages it and some more besides. I think by now you might have guessed I loved this book.

I really don't want to be giving to much away as far as the story goes, I really don't want to spoil the enjoyment for this book for anyone. Because believe me, this is one read you will want to sit and devour without any spoilers.

Back in the lives of Anna, Freddie and Tanya. Anna having fled a bad relationship and starting over again became very good friends and business partners with Tanya. Between them they manage their clubs. Freddie is Anna's boyfriend who is a big part in the London criminal underworld.
Having become successful in what she does and with all she has been through Anna is normally quite guarded around friendships and who she can trust, needing to keep one step ahead or things can go very wrong. Things go very wrong for Anna and it's down to Freddie to put them right. Is it to late, has Anna let her guard down maybe just a little to much. Who can and who should she trust?

This is not your typical London Gangster, crime type book, this is one of the best. Fast paced, full of action, enough to keep you on your toes and wanting more, and then some more...
Loved how this book ended, it certainly leaves you knowing that there is more to come, I for one cannot wait...
These books could be read as standalones, but seriously to get the full back history of the characters and to fully appreciate them, they really would be better read in order.

First class read, had me hooked and is going on my 2019 Must Reads list!

Wow! A brilliant book that had me racing through the pages.
All seems well with Anna and Freddie but then Anna returns home and sees that their door has been forced open. Once inside she sees that the property has been ransacked and over £50k stolen.
Other things start to happen around Freddie and he’s becoming very suspicious.
He has to work fast to cover his tracks as someone is raking up the past and trying to get him sent down.
Whilst working with his team he receives a call to say that Anna is missing and he starts to panic.
Tanya is beside herself and starts to crumble as more and more days pass by.
Anna is being held in a remote location and has no chance of escaping on her own.
Freddie has his suspicions but it isn’t until the final hour that he works out where she is and races to find her - but is he too late?
I love the bond that Anna has with Freddie and it is crystal clear he will do anything to get her back.
Tanya will also fight to the death to find her best friend.
This is a gripping crime thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat.
I highly recommend this book and even if you haven’t read the others in the series, you could read this as a stand-alone book.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

When I read the previous book, I fell deeply in love with Freddie. I know it’s not the man your parents would like you to introduce them to, but beneath the tough surface, he does have a good heart and he is a like a vulcano. You never know when he is going to erupt or which stream of emotions are going to flow out of him.

I was really excited to meet up with the characters again and I could not put the book down. I finished it at 1.30 am! So Emma Tallon – sleep : 1 – 0. But it was worth every minute I lost sleep over it.

I was so proud of myself that I was right about who the culprit was. If you have read the prequel (of course you have lol) and you pay attention here, it’s quite clear, but the suspense as well as the reading pleasure remain on a high level the whole book through.

This story is like a minefield. Regularly one explodes and your heart stops for a few moments.

When you finally reluctantly close the book, because there were way too little pages, the only thing that goes through your mind is : When can I read the next book, please?

5 big, fat, shiny stars!

Thank you, Emma Tallon, Bookouture and Netgalley

MY REVIEW

Anna and Tanya run a couple of clubs in London, but someone feels one of the clubs should be theirs, due to an ‘administration’ error at the time of the original sale......this is where things get nasty !

Freddie, Anna’s boyfriend, is a well known London gangster, violent and not above murder and so much more!!!

Anna goes missing and Freddie will do anything to get her back....I won’t go into details as it would really spoil this and that just wouldn’t be fair.

While I appreciate this is part of a series, it really can be read as a stand-alone, but you will want to read the others afterwards, I’m certain.....

This is a fast paced, dark, violent insight into the seedy underworld of London or any major city really. I can’t say any of the characters are the nicest of people, but I did care what happened to them and this reflects the marvellous writing of Emma Tallon. I can thoroughly recommend it.

OMG this was intense. Anna and Tanya are best friends and they own 2 clubs. Anna's boyfriend, Freddie, is one of the most powerful people in London. Tanya's boyfriend, Tom, works for Freddie. Freddie has a meeting with Crime Boss Frank Gambino but Frank wants Anna's club and won't give Freddie his deal unless Anna gives him what he wants. Then Anna goes missing and Freddie and Tanya are beside themselves with worry and trying to figure out who took Anna. We know Anna is ok and who ever took her wants her for themself. She is getting fed and has a bedroom and bathroom. I knew right away who had taken her and I thought maybe by chance it was someone else. I could not put this book down and at the end you know there will be another book and I will be looking forward to that coming out.
I received this from Bookouture and NetGalley for an honest review.

Emma Tallon, you are amazing, you have had me hooked on following Anna and Freddie's lives from Runaway Girl and I wait impatiently for the next instalment to see what the underworld throws at them next. I have never hidden the fact that I absolutely love this series and this one certainly lived up to my expectations if not more, I read this in the day, I just could not put it down, I had to know the who, the where, the why.... brilliantly pieced together.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion although it was the impatient side of me not wanting to wait til publication day, confession to make, I have already paid a couple of months ago the preorder via Amazon :)

‘Boss Girl’ is the third book written by Emma Tallon that I have had the distinct pleasure of reading and reviewing. I thought her first two books were good but I enjoyed this new book even more. As you can tell, I absolutely loved it, (even if it did at times scare the doo doo out of me) but more about that in a bit.
One of the main characters is called Anna. Anna is currently in a relationship with Freddie, who is one of the big crime bosses. Anna lets Freddie get on with his stuff, whilst she gets on with her own stuff. Anna and her friend have already opened one club but they have recently acquired, renovated and established a new comedy club. However it soon emerges that this new club leads to more complications than Anna could have ever imagined, which may have far reaching consequences for Freddie and his businesses. Anna certainly has a dilemma on her hands Anna is feisty, determined, ruthless, stubborn, a hard nut with more balls than any man could ever possibly hope to have if that makes sense? What will Anna choose to do? Do her actions put herself and Freddie in any danger? Will Freddie ride to the rescue? Well for the answers to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
OMG, ‘Boss Girl’ is one of those superb books that had the power to keep me gripped, keep me on the edge of my seat and at the same time it scared the crap out of me. I tell you, if this book is any indication of what the real criminal underworld is like then I don’t want any of it and I am quite content to just read about it thank you very much. I know I am just a wimp!! I loved the way in which Emma has created characters who are not only believable and authentic but likeable to boot. I loved the character of Anna, who I think is the one who wears the trousers in her relationship with Freddie.
The author has one of the those writing styles that grabs your attention from the start and you feel compelled to continue reading. That’s what happened to me. I am a bit of a nosy mare and I just had to read on to find out what happened and to whom. Reading ‘Boss Girl’ certainly became addictive. I was extremely reluctant to put the book down and at times it almost had to be prised out of my hands. The book wasn’t exactly glued to my hands but it might as well have been because it accompanied me everywhere. The more of the book I read ,the further I got into the story and the more I had to continue reading because I was desperate to find out how things ended.
Reading ‘Boss Girl’ was much like being on a rather scary and unpredictable rollercoaster ride with lots of twists and turns along the way. There were times where I almost had to read through my fingers because I feared what was going to happen next.
In short, Emma Tallon has raised the bar and then some. ‘Boss Girl’ is easily my favourite book of hers to date. Her books just get better and better. I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next. I would definitely recommend this author and her books to other readers. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Emma Tallon is in the same league as Jacqui Rose, Kimberley Chambers amongst others.

I found myself getting drawn in Freddie, Anna and Tanya's lives right from the beginning in Runaway Girl which has more back stories than Eastenders.
Anna and Freddie are firm friends who met at the worst of times but now run their hugely successful west end club 'Anya' together and right this moment life is better than they could ever hope for. The club is heaving every night and they are expanding but with a comedy club close by. Freddy is a gangster who has fingers in lots of pies, but, is looking to go into business with the Gambino family (American mafia) whereas Tom who lived a quiet life away from the underworld but now wants an in to the business.

Gambino is demanding club Anya as the deal breaker, no club no deal. Now if you've read any of the others you'll know that Anna will definitely not hand it over without a damn good fight. With her mind on other things Anna is not as vigilant as she maybe should have been and she doesn't see/realise that she is being followed. Things begin to spiral out of control and so many things happen at once, Freddie's past is being raked up and he's having to work hard to save himself from being sent down.

Honestly if you like to read tough, gritty tales about the London gangster underworld with surprisingly strong characters then grab a copy of any of Emma Tallons books, curl up and get enjoy.

Read for an honest review. Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley

This is book #3 of the Anna Davis series. It can be read as a standalone book but it does have references to the previous two books of the series, so I would recommend reading them in order to avoid any spoilers!!

This is the third book that I have read by this author, with the other two books being the previous two in the series. As I started to read, all the characters came flooding back to me and I remembered that I had loved Anna and Freddie’s characters in the previous books! Freddie is the local gang boss and Anna is not only his girlfriend but a successful businesswoman in her own right. Teaming up with her best friend Tanya, they have opened a comedy club. Things are going well until Anna has a visit from a Mafia boss who believed the club belonged to him and warns her that she needs to give it back to him.

This book was absolutely brilliant and had me hooked from the first page. It’s a typical London gangster book with guns, killings and drugs. The characters are perfectly suited for this type of book and they were all so realistic that I could picture them in my mind! I love Freddie’s character! He is the big bad gangster boss but where his family and friends are concerned he has a heart of gold! I would love to say I’d love a big tough man to look after me just how Freddie looks after Anna, but then I remember that Freddie is a gangster who thinks nothing of killing someone in cold blood and I back off to a safe respectful distance!

The story itself is fast paced and full of action. It’s gritty, raw and had my heart pounding so many times I lost count. The plot was worthy of its own prime time TV slot and personally, I just couldn’t get enough of the activities that goes on in the criminal underworld! Whilst it is a bit of a violent, and sometimes gruesome, read there is also a touch of dark humour in there which did make me laugh (probably completely inappropriately) at times!! The re-burying of the already long decomposed dead body did bring a smile to my face!! I honestly didn’t work out who was behind everything and the reveal was kept a closely guarded secret

Be warned that there is some bad language and a lot of blood, but if you can cope with that then I would whole heartedly recommend this series of books! As each book comes the series is getting stronger and stronger and I can’t wait for the next book!! Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for this copy of the book.

Emma Tallon does it again with this continuation of the Anna Davis story.

Anna and boyfriend, East End crime boss, Freddie Tyler, are stronger than ever. Freddie wants to open a casino in London and is expecting Frank Gambino, the head of one of the five New York mafia families, for talks.
But Frank has other ideas. He secretly gives Anna a choice, sell Club Anya to him or the whole deal is off.
Then Anna doesn't return home one night. What follows is the search for Anna, and any information on the kidnapper.
And Frank Gambino is prime suspect.

Emma Tallon effortlessly conveys the tension throughout, and while I worked out who the villain was around half way through, she twisted the story enough to make me second guess myself several times. Even on the big reveal, the shock of their identity wasn't diminished. I actually called my partner to exclaim "I was right!". I received a blank stare followed by an eye roll, as she had no idea what I was talking about.
I enjoyed this book immensely and have already began reading book #4, Fierce Girl.
I recommend reading the whole series, but Boss Girl in particular.

I am reviewing a copy of Boss Girl through Bookoture and Netgalley:

Anna Davis knows she has to keep her eye on the ball with her West End nightclub packed full night after night and another club will soon be opening.

Freddie Tyler, Anna Davis’s boyfriend practically owns London’s West End. Now he’s got a big deal on, going into business with Crime Boss Frank Gambino. Frank Gambino visits Anna at work one night to tell her he’ll sign the deal with Freddie on one condition and that is only if she hands over Club Anya to
him.

Anna’s mind is on other thing as tensions grow between her and Freddie. She doesn’t realize that someone is watching her every move. And she certainly doesn’t realize the kind of danger she’s in.

One night Anna doesn’t return home, leaving Freddie worried sick. Soon he is finding himself on a race to save Anna.

Will Freddie be able to rescue Anna, or will it be to late? Find out in Boss Girl.

I give Boss Girl five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

I wish I had known before requesting this book it was part of a series. This has to be read with the start of book one. This books are interconnected and readers will be lost though most of the book because the lack of backstory for some of the characters.

The story is about the underground world where people will do anything to get what they want and its apart of their lives. That can make it difficult for readers to find a "hero" or someone they can identify with in the story.

Boss girl is dark story and sometimes almost to dark wondering where the happy or light might be. With the nail biting moments I can honestly say if readers like the dark underworld this series would be for you. I highly recommended you go back and start with the first story before you start with Boss Girl.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher Bookouture for the Advance copy of Emma Tallon Boss Girl.

Now here's an author that just gets better and better.........Emma Tallon's latest book Boss Girl was a cracker of a read.
I found this book the best so far in this brilliant Anna, Tanya and Freddie series. This is the third book and can easily be read as a standalone book. Emma has created brilliant characters that you will love and they all have a fantastic part in all three of these books.

Now, I am sitting here wishing I had book 4 in the cracking series to read, and find out what happens next in this Anna, Tanya and Freddie's next stage in their lives.

If you are looking for a brilliant new author to read..........These books are Just Brilliant from Emma Tallon.

I would highly recommend these:
1. Runaway Girl
2. Dangerous Girl
3. Boss Girl.

5 big stars for this book x

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book clearly will likely have a fan following and it wasn’t a terrible book. It was clearly a book strictly for entertainment value. There were no profound moments or lessons to be learned. It aches at the end to set up for a follow-up novel, so I suspect that’s likely already in the works. I won’t be knocking down bookshelves to find it and read it. If this book had been more fast paced and exciting, I would have gotten through it much faster, but I found it easy to put down bc I grew bored with it more than I ever was drawn to it. Again, not terrible and I’ve read worse books just to follow a series through to the end, so I’m sure fans will appreciate this book for the easy read and continuation of the storyline that it is.

Another great read!
Second time I read Emma Tallon.

"She groaned and put her hands up to her head. Why does it hurt so much? Where did I fall asleep?. She opened her eyes groggily and pulled herself upright. She blinked and frowned as she looked around. She was in a room that could have almost been her own bedroom at home. Except it wasn't...
Her eyes darted around the room and widened as they settled on a camera in the top corner of one wall. She was being watched. Her heart thudded against her chest..."

And that was just a few lines of the prologue... I was hooked right away!

It is never boring and keeps you interested until the end!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion.
