Butterfly Ops Trilogy #2

Butterfly Ops: Book 2

Rate this book
What's a superheroine to do when her super soldier ex turns up alive after more than fifteen years?

Lyndsey Daniels doesn't have much time to walk down memory lane before she and Ian Fox find themselves thrown together to investigate the mysterious deaths of ten young men in the Canadian wilderness. How do the hearts of such seemingly normal, healthy men just...stop?

With the hint of an evil spirit in the wind—and a whole lot of butterflies—there's no telling what Lyndsey and Ian are dealing with, including their own extensive baggage. Though sixteen years is a lot of life to live, there's one thing they can't deny: their attraction is as intense as ever. But is it just a spark that will burn itself out, or is it true love bringing them back together? When the force they're hunting turns its sights on them, the leap of faith required far exceeds the powers of either of them. But worrying about their future might be premature because one wrong move and they might not make it out alive.

In Book Two of the Butterfly Ops Trilogy, Lyndsey, Ian, and their respective teams fully delve into the mystery of why so many young, healthy men have died in Ontario’s Quetico Park. But for every new piece of information they reveal, the mystery only grows deeper. To complicate matters, alliances shift as new friends—or are they new enemies?—are made, and Lyndsey and Ian are forced to confront their past…and evil butterflies?

Book Two of three in an epic urban fantasy/love story

Note: this is Book Two in a serial trilogy. Book One was released in September 2018; Book Three will be released in May 2019. Book Two picks up where Book One leaves off and should be read in order. Book Two ends in a cliffhanger.

For most of this one it seemed like Lyndsey and Ian were still coming to terms with their relationship, both in the past and the present with Abby being a very visible ghost in their midst, especially when Ian's kids are around. I have to say that this started to get old fast, so I was happy when they were called out on a mission. I have a feeling that something big is going to be revealed in the next book connected to this mission. And the reason I feel that was is because so much of what was happening seemed tailor made so that Ian was the "perfect" victim and he was maneuvered into being at ground zero. The thing is that they all knew this was happening and could do nothing to avoid it. Sure they all looked after Ian as best they could, but it still didn't happen to stop things. I thought when Lyndsey's powers were revealed to them all that might stop things, but no, it all just made them that much more in awe of her because she battled a bear and came away the victor. That battle was brutal and I honestly didn't think she would make it. But as bad as she was hurt in the battle it was nothing compared to the hit she took at the end. Sadly we need to wait for the next book to see what happens next. I have some thoughts and can't wait to see if I'm on track.

Butterfly Ops: Book 2

Butterfly Ops Book 2 definitely needs to be read after Book 1. It picks up right after book 1. It delves more into the past of Ian and Lyndsey after the meet back up after not seeing each other for 16 years. They were each others first love, and the chemistry between them even after all these years and all the other life experiences they have had, is off the charts. You learn so much about what they each thought happened back then, and how each of them were so off on their take on things. Even though things heat up quickly, and they want to spend all their time together, they are taking things slow - due to Ian's kids and family. They are also training together to go out on a mission. Lyndsey is part owner of a company that hunts vampires and demons...and Ian is on a military team that does much of the same things. They are going to go to Quetico Park in Canada to try to find out why so many young men have disappeared and then been found dead. Sadly the profile of these men, meets Ian to almost a tee. The physical traits as well as him being a widower match up. This makes Lyndsey and the team very nervous. Ian and Matt have bad feelings about this mission as well, but are determined to execute. Ian will not stand for not being in the field on this one. So this follows them on the mission of looking at the sites of the past disappearances and trying to figure out what is happening. It ends in a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read Book 3 to see how the whole story finishes unfolding. There is some paranormal in this as well as learning about spirits and folklore. If you like second chance romance, some mystery, suspense, and lots of twists and turns, then I would highly recommend you read this series! I look forward to Book 3!

Lyndsey and Ian have stumbled upon each other after 16 years. Lyndsey is part owner of a company that hunts vampires, demons and other evil things that go bump in the night. Ian is the head of a black ops type team made up of military as well as people from other government agencies, who do the same thing. In book two the teams set off to Canada to solve the mysterious murders of young healthy men in a national park. With all the baggage from their past can Ian and Lyn even think about a future?

In book 2 we really get more insight into Lyn’s and Ian’s pasts. I love that Ian and Lyndsey have such amazing chemistry after all these years but both want to respect Ian’s family and not move things along too quickly. The author brought in myths and legends to make the hunt for answers even more difficult. I really fell in love with the entire team and am looking forward to the final book. This book can’t be read as a standalone and it ends on a cliffhanger.

Butterfly ops Book 2
This continues the story of Ian and Lyndsey as they have a second chance at a relationship after not seeing each other for the last 15 years. They were each other’s first loves and have never gotten past that. This book follows them as they are part of a team tracking down the deaths of young men in an Indian National Park in Canada. You feel the emotions of the two of them as they try to get past their complicated past. Ian also has to get over the guilt of wanting to follow where this relationship could go whilst feeling like he is betraying his wife who has been dead the past 8 years. It’s heartbreaking seeing how torn he is. In Canada the team is worried about Ian’s safety as he fits in totally with the profile of all the men who have disappeared and ended up dead.
Loved this book.

Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left off. Ian and Lyndsey are just reconnecting when they are sent on a mission to a park in Canada to try and figure out why young, healthy men are dying. What isn't lost to anyone is the men all bare a resemblance to Ian. Knowing Ian won't stay back, she will do everything in her power to protect him. She just got him back. The team is good at what they do but are not without scrutiny from the park rangers. Despite all that, they head into the wilderness to do what they are trained for.
I enjoyed this book more than the first. They finally were going on their mission. But what obstacles await them and who will come back in Book 3. Read to find out. It is getting better.

Omg!! Book 2 picks up right where book 1 ends, and things just keep getting better!! After 16 years of not seeing each other, Lindsay runs into Ian on the sidewalk outside a coffee shop. After an awkward meeting, they go their separate ways. Lindsey is attending a meeting with a new client and guess who's at this meeting also!!! Yup! Ian and Matt! Both Ian and Lindsey are working together for a mysterious mission in Canada. Things are heating up between Ian and Lindsey, but this mission isn't sitting right with them.
This book is packed with so much angst, off the charts chemistry, and a lot of mystery! The ending though???? Gah!!! I can't take it! I need book 3 NOW!!!!

Solid 3.5 star
I ca't go over a 3.5 star as as much as the writing is good we are onto the second book but haven't started the operation that brought Lyndsey and Ian together. Thankfully things start to progress further for us in this book while they are still working out their new relationship and how it might work or if it will work while getting to know each other again. Things start to dial up even more once the teams are in the forest and everyone knows that there is one of them that could be at risk of going missing and becoming the next victim!

I love a good series, and this one does not disappoint...I can't wait for the book 3, and honestly? I would love if there were a spin off, I want to know more about Matt, even Zachary..he's hundreds of years old so you know there's plenty of stories there!
I want to know more about the group, individually, and as a group on more Ops.
Jen Doyle keeps you wanting more, her writing is fun and her characters are fleshed out. You love them, warts and all.
All I can say after Book 2 is BRING IT!

This book commences where book 1 left off.

Lyndsey and Ian have been apart a long time. he loved his wife and had a family with her. But now that she is gone, he has a 2nd chance at love with Lyndsey. But yet again they are called in to help investigate when local youngsters disappear in a National Park in Canada.

Novel take on super soldiers and vampires! It's again a well-written story, like book 1. I loved Ian and Lyndsey as a couple but dammit a cliffhanger ending...I hate them!!!

Book 2 is way better. This one goes into their relationship too, but Lyndsey, Ian and their teams go on a hunt to find out why healthy men are found dead in Quetico Park. This one is more mysterious. Ian’s Team is very concern since Ian fits the profile of the men that have been found dead. There’s many twist and turns in this book. I found myself more into this book than the first. It got more to the root of what the teams were needed for. Can’t wait for book 3.

Book two picks up right from where book one finishes off. There is still lots of intrigue and mystery around Ian and Lyndsey. They are now in Canada at the National Park trying to find out why all the Ian look-a-likes are being killed. This book is also bringing lots of raw emotions from the characters while they figure out if this time around they can make it work. I usually don't like stories with cliffhangers, but this one is my exception. Can't wait for book three!!

This book is a trilogy. Book 1 had a cliffhanger and so does book 2. Lindsey just saw Ian after 16 years. She shought he was dead. She has been living with that thought for 8 years. This book starts where book 1 left off. MUST read book 1 first.  These 2 reconnect on a mission they are both working on. I love second chance romances. Book 1 and 2 are awesome. Can't wait to read book 3 and see how it all ends up.

This is the 2nd book in the three book series. This second book is great investigating 10 death and trying to figure out where they stand all in the middle of this. The back and forth of this book and the characters is great. Its shows that there is not always a cut and clean happy ever after and that there is a lot of the past that some can never or find it very hard to push forward. Cant wait for Book 3.

Butterfly Ops #2 by Jen Doyle continues where #1 left off. It’s a true catch-22 situation, where for every piece of information they think they’ve found, two more mysteries rear up. It’s getting harder and harder to tell the good guys from the bad, and if Lindsey and Ian aren’t careful, they won’t have a chance to see if they can make their second chance work.

Again, this IS a true Trilogy, and MUST be read (and read in order). Another 5 full stars.

This is the second book in the series and we get to go camping! Ian and Lyndsey are still hashing out their feelings and the team is trying to figure out what is going on in woods in Canada. We have mystery galore, hot steamy sexy scenes, politicians playing their games, rangers being a pain, confused kids, and a whopper of an ending! Can’t wait for the final book!

A book filled with mystery and intrigue and a second chance romance is definitely my type of book. The second book in this series does not disappoint as we follow Lindsay and Ian as they rediscover each other and try to solve the murder of young men. I can not wait until I read book three to see how Ms. Doyle ties everything up.

It would seem as though this story just keeps getting better and better. Now I hate cliffhangers however for this trilogy I am willing to make an exception. Lyndsey and Ian have a second chance at being together and I just can’t wait to see how it all ends in book 3. Hopefully I won’t have to wait long lol. Another fantastic book and definitely recommended.

When book 2 of Butterfly Ops begins we immediately pick up where book one left off. In book 2 we are getting closer and closer to answers but if course we have to wait for the final book to see what's in store for Ian and Lyndsey.
