Engrossing twists infused with emotions that is impossible to put down. Passionate sexy chemistry. A definite must read that will stick with you long after the last page has been read!
This a beautifully haunting story of the talented, but broken Lyla and Jameson, a music producer in Nashville. I've now read all of Kelly Moore's epic love stories and although for most of them I needed a few tissues this one really got to me. Anyone who has dealt with love, tragic loss, depression, or substance abuse will know that the feelings that are woven into a story of love are so so raw and real and honestly I really don't even know where to start with this book...All I can say it was BEAUTIFUL! The story was well told and the characters are real and edgy. Kelly Moore even offers two possible endings to Lyla and Jameson's love story.
This book is definitely not your standard warm, sweet romance, but it’s a wonderful book that I’m glad I had the chance to read. The original songs that were written by Lyla were just amazing. I was so into the story that these songs jump off the pages & sang to me. Kelly Moore is one of my favorite authors! Her books are usually edgy, with unique characters facing real life issues. She may not always give us your standard HEA, but oh my do you get to enjoy heartfelt storylines and roller coasters of emotions that lead to one hell of a book hangover!
What an amazing story! This author knows how to hook you in right from the very beginning.
Jameson is a man that falls hard and fast for the beautiful singer, Gypsy, he just can’t help it. Their connection is on a whole deeper lever than just physical attraction. It’s like Jameson can see inside Gypsy’s soul and knows that she is tragically wounded and scared.
Gypsy is an incredible singer whose songs touch the very core of people. She sings about the life she once had which her fans don’t realize that the pain and sadness in her songs come from that incredible pain within her, about her horrible loss.
This story is heartbreaking and tragic but it also about love and healing. The struggle to overcome a tragic loss is very real. There are some people can make it through those darkest times and then there are those that can never get past the trauma.
I love how this story showed the incredible attempts of Jameson to motivate and help Gypsy move forward with her life. The emotions necessary to tell this kind of story come from the very core and leave you spent. That’s also how I felt when I finished this book. It was heartbreaking but turned out to be quite satisfying.
Well, Gypsy just happened. How did I miss this when it first came out? *kicks self* Happy ( sort of * blows nose* ) to get caught back up, this emotional love story had my husband ready to throw my Kindle out the window! When Jameson meets the women behind the voice that captured his attention, there's no turning back for him- he must have her in a professional and nonprofessional way ASAP, but Gypsy comes to him with a past full of pain, dark places, and methods of coping that are temporary fixes, which only worsen things as time goes. The connection between them is instant and a shock to their systems, the sheer magnetism keeps drawing them back together. The power of lyrics brought them together; what they do with it could change their lives forever.
GAH! Remember how I said earlier my hubby wanted to chuck my Kindle? Well, that would be because I kept waking him up saying out loud, *Oh no, this doesn't feel right* *what? NO?* *cries for two chapters* holy buckets of emotional overload batman! If the Author had a premonition not so nice things were being said about her for a minute..... or two. < coughs > Whoops! I apologize! The heat of the moment and all! What a beautifully broken love story! Once again, Ms. Moore has wrung me out to dry, and I loved every minute of it! These are epic tales, raw, moving, sexy and witty coupled with unique characters. If you have not read any of the Epic Love Stories, I HIGHLY recommend that you do. Just have a box tissues handy!
I’ve been waiting impatiently to bring you all my review of the upcoming novel, Gypsy. This beautiful and emotional novel centers around a young woman Lyla, (stage name Gypsy) who is blessed with an incredible voice and an even better talent at writing lyrics. While playing in a bar one night, in walks music producer Jameson at the request of one of his friends. Not in the mood to be there and certainly not expecting to discover someone worth recording, Jameson begrudgingly sits and waits to hear this voice that he has heard so much about. Once Lyla starts singing, everything that Jameson has believed about life, love and everything else up until that point, goes flying out the window.
I love novels with beautifully flawed characters and it’s certainly one of the things that I love about this and all of Kelly Moore’s novels. Gypsy is filled with flawed characters all in their own ways as the result of a variety of circumstances. Lyla’s quirks and flaws are evident early in the novel and her story is one that will break your heart. Jameson doesn’t appear “flawed” initially, yet his outlook on life at the beginning of the novel isn’t one that says hopeful or content. Flaws be damned, sometimes people are meant to be and find their way to each other, which makes their story even more moving, which is all that matters in the end.
Jameson quickly found his way into my heart while reading this, as did Lyla. I loved watching their lives grow and change, but I especially loved the transformation in each of their world-views. Also, for any music lovers out there, prepare to be wowed by Lyla’s (aka Kelly Moore’s) lyrics throughout this novel. She churns out some beautifully thought-provoking lyrics that I swear I could hear in my head as I was reading. If you play an instrument, I challenge you to resist the urge to put some of these lyrics to music. I’ve always wanted to play guitar, but this just made the desire stronger.
Gypsy is a fast-paced novel filled with amazing characterization, Kelly Moore’s trademark blend of romance and conflict (both internal and external), and will stay with you long, long after finishing it.
Do they live happily-ever-after?
This novel is so much more than the answer to that question. Gypsy is about the power of music, love, heartbreak, tragedy, fate, finding the one, and learning to love in a capacity one never imagined possible. It was my honor to read and review this novel and I cannot recommend it enough.
Oh, before I forget… Kleenex. Lots and lots of Kleenex.
*Many thanks to Kelly Moore for providing this review copy in exchange for my honest review!
Still picking up used tissues over here! This book is beautifully amazing. Our two main characters Lyla (aka Gypsy) and Jameson, have been brought together by music. Gypsy has so much talent and Jameson wants to help her advance but can be do that with the chemistry he's feeling? Will she even allow him in as hurt as she's been? This book is raw and gritty and consuming and I loved it! (Yes that was a lot of ands) 😝 I also enjoyed that you could choose your ending. I myself had to read both. But you can make up your own mind! Overall Kelly Moore did not disappoint us with another work of talent .
The author wrote a beautiful story. It's a quick, easy read. This book is deep and wrote with feeling. I felt the pain and love in the lyrics of the songs sung by Gypsy. I was sucked into the story. I felt the love and loss that both of the characters experienced. I was heartbroken with the story's tragic ending.
Lyla is broken beyond repair. Not even Jameson's love is able to patch the deep cracks in her heart. When Lyla's story comes to a tragic end. Jameson fully understands the pain she lived with for years.
"How do you unbreak the broken?"

If you are looking for a sticky sweet romance this is not the book for you - however - if you are looking for a book that touches you like no other and rips your heart to shreds and then slowly puts it back together again than this is the perfect book for you. With each layer of strength and heartbreak that Gypsy and those that fall in love with her have to endure the reader cannot help but feel all the feels. With beautifully written characters and an emotional storyline this book deserves well more than 5 stars!!
This book was emotional and heartbreaking, especially when it is read with the original ending. I think Kelly Moore did herself a disservice by writing the HEA verision for this raw, gritty, book. I think most people will read both versions - I know I couldn't stop myself - and I really, really wish I hadn't read the HEA.
I recommend this book if you read it and promise not to read the alternate, HEA, ending. It only lessened the strong impact the book left on me.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
A beautiful story that was so hard to put down, A hard story to review without spoiling the book. I loved the story and got lost in it when I read it, I felt like I was right in the story as it was moving from page to page. All I can say it was a wonderful and beautiful book.
She has secrets hidden deep and dark in her heart and he sees her. He wants to help her but will it all end in disaster? What are her secrets? Will they spoil and ruin their futures? Follow them to see

Kelly Moore has given us another epic book. This is the story of Lyla, stage name Gypsy, and Jameson. Jameson has come to Brew’s Brothers because his best friend, Tyler, says he needs to hear Gypsy sing. She calls out to him right away , as if she’s only singing to him. Gypsy isn’t interested in a recording contract and when we learn her story, we’ll understand why. Gypsy and Jameson grow closer, but will he be able to heal the broken in her or will he end up broken in the end? I won’t leave any spoilers because everyone needs to read this amazing, emotional book. Ms. Moore always writes a book that sucks you in and this book sure does that. For those of you that want an alternate ending, she includes that too.
Wow such a heartbreaking book, it touches so many different emotions. Gypsy has the voice of an angel yet so much heartbreak, Jameson sees her and is determined to make her into a star. There are many ups and down in this book. I havent read all of Kelly's books but I will have to say that this one was masterfully put together, gut wrenching even. I loved having the option of the two endings of the story, with all that Gyspy had endured it decided to go with the HEA. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
O My... this was a one very captivating read! The line on The cover is A Perfect one for discribing The story. Jamison and Gypsy's story is so heartwrenching and full of lots of emotions. As always I fell for The story written by Ms. Moore. The seprete endings made this story into somethibng more. Each of those are well for The story as each covers diffrent side of it. Well written story with troubeled characters and style that will put emotions all over The place.
Some people read books to escape reality. But I like when an author will write about subjects that aren't easy. Hats off to you Kelly. Thank you for writing Gypsy. I needed this even with the alternate endings. I couldn't pick which one I liked better. It's a wake up call. I work in the mental health field so I know this story wasn't easy to write but it also hits close to home for me. Jameson and Gypsy story isn't going to be easy on your heart but it will be a story/journey that will stick with you. You have to read Gypsy!
I am generally HEA kind of reader. I like feel-good stories. I read both endings but have to admit chapters 17 and 18 fit better with this tragic story. I cried.......
Our hero, Jameson, was so strong and when he fell he fell hard. And he loved well, too. It just wasn't enough to heal the broken. She was just too broken.....
This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review. Although heart-breaking, it was a wonderful story 👍👍
This is story is a little bit of a roller coaster. There are lots emotions in this book. It is not a sweet romance but it is a love story. The author has made the characters so powerfully real that you feel all their emotions, especially Lyla's pain, tissues may be needed for parts of this story. Jameson manages to bring some light to her life but is it enough? There are two endings in this book - one is heart wrenchingly sad that you will need tissues, and one is light and happy with everything turning out perfect for the happy couple.
You will need to have Kleenex nearby when you read this book! Ms. Moore has such a way with words that I feel the pain or happiness that the characters are feeling. Gypsy has so much pain she is dealing with that I could never imagine handling it. My heart went out to her. I was glad to see Jameson bring some light and happiness in her life. It is hard to imagine that as good looking as Jameson is and his loving personality, that he had never been married or in love. It had to be hard to hear Gypsy talk about her past when Jameson loved her so much and wanted to be enough for her. The music business definitely is not all fun and roses. There are two endings to this story. One is heart wrenching, and the other is a happily ever after. I can see both endings, but as a true romantic I would hope the happy ever after ending would work out! I loved the book and strongly encourage you read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

A Beautiful & Emotional Story! Great Audible Listen🎧 Gypsy Epic Love Stories, Book 4 By: Kelly Moore Narrated by: Adam Riley
Get your tissues ready for another “Epic Love Story” by Kelly Moore. She is the master at creating these beautiful heartfelt stories that move you like no other. Her characters are complex and well developed, she has the ability to bring you in to their heart to feel their raw emotions, to feel their pain. Lyla Flynn is a talented musician and singer, she has the makings to be a star but something holds her back. Jameson Wilde sees the talent in her and sees her and how broken she is. Jameson was so good for her, got her to open up but he learns a part of her is forever broken, but his love for her is strong enough to accept that. Lyla tries to drink her sorrows away but Jameson helps with that too. They do fall in love but sometimes love is not enough to wipe away the pain. This is such a heart wrenchingly sad story, I felt Lyla’s pain, I also felt Jameson’s pain at the end. Kelly Moore, thank you for another heartfelt story. I have to check out your alternate ending.
I listened to the Audible edition, Adam Riley is a terrific narrator and voice performer. He brings the characters to life, gives their heart and personality. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧
Keep the tissues nearby as you read this story. Gypsy/Lyla is a broken woman. The loss of loved ones has left her with a pain that cannot be erased or muted. She pours her feelings into the songs she sings with her band, a band that never stays in any one place for long. The constant travel seems to keep a cap on her pain at least for a little while, though she also uses alcohol to numb her pain, especially on the long sleepless nights. Jameson owns a recording studio in Nashville and the moment her hears her sing he wants to record her songs and help her and her band to get a recording contract. Gypsy refuses the offer, then bargains with him for recording time in his studio. The recording is to remain between them and never given to a recording company. Gradually she lets her guard down with Jameson, who is desperately attracted and mesmerized by her. Her pain is a palpable, breathing demon that seems to lessen it’s hold on Lyla as she begins to have feelings for Jameson. He slowly draws her back into the world of those who have survived the loss of loved ones and are moving forward in life. Taking her career to the next level, however, brings the return of her old fears, insecurities and unfortunately the emotional pain. This story has alternate endings...one that is less than happy, and one that includes a happily ever after. This story highlights very raw emotions and suffering as a result of overwhelming grief. It is written with great insight and perception and evokes many emotions. This is truly an enthralling book, but it may be a trigger for those still suffering emotionally and mentally from personal loss.

Gypsy Epic Love Stories, Book 4 By: Kelly Moore Narrated by: Adam Riley
Kelly Moore has a way of pulling you into her story and making you feel right down to your core. It's not easily accomplished, but each time I listen to one of her books, I know my heart will ache and be warmed. This story about Gypsy does just that. Jameson is a record producer and sees Gypsy on the stage. She is beautiful and her talent unending, but that is not what he sees in her. When they meet, there is an inexplicable draw between them that just keeps growing. But Gypsy holds secrets, and pain like no other. Will Jameson be able to break through and win her love? This story was easy to become invested in, and my heart held so much emotion, it almost burst. These two are so well matched and their chemistry intense, you can't help but root for them. It's raw and emotionally gritty and will definitely leave you with so many thoughts and feelings.
This is my first listen by Adam Riley and I thought he was perfect for this role. He has a good array of voices, but more importantly, he is able to instinctively give the emotional punch this story has. I really enjoyed his performance.
Oh God! How do you describe Gypsy? This book will tug on your heartstrings until you feel every emotion the lead characters feel. This is the story of Lyla, aka Gypsy, and Jameson. He is a record producer who is introduced to a new band playing in a bar in Nashville. Right away, Jameson falls for the raspy voice of the lead singer. As he becomes involved with Lyla, he senses a deep pain within her and seems helpless to stop her self-destruction. This is an awesome romance that will carry you to the highest of highs and to the lowest of lows. As Lyla tries to tell Jameson, he cannot unbreak the broken. This book has two endings provided by the author, one of which is an HEA. This author touches on a painful topic, a topic that society needs to address in order to assist those persons struggling with depression. KUDOS, Ms. Moore, for shining a light on the depths of despair that promotes suicide and the needs for professional intervention.
When Jameson is asked to come down and check out this new band in the local pub, he does not expect to meet the most beautiful woman who sings like an angel. She has something special that she needs to share with the world and him if she will let him in.
Lyla is a broken mess and is not interested in anything but the short term but there is something about Jameson that makes her want to try harder and when the opportunity of a lifetime lands in her lap she risks it all because she has him by her side. But how can you mend something that is so broken that it is still covered in cracks?
Without giving too much away this one is a tearjerker! I loved this story and I must say it is a brave but sad story of a broken-hearted woman who is trapped in a world of depression and darkness. If this is a trigger then this story may not be for you.
I voluntarily read a copy of this book for an honest review.
Gypsy is trying to get through life after a heartbreaking tragedy. With the help of her friends/bandmates and her songs she is existing as best she can. One night after seeing her perform, Jameson tries to get her to record at his studio with the promise of making it big. Gypsy which is Lyla's stage name is not sure she wants that for her life for a very understandable reason. Something inside of Jameson draws him to this women. As they slowly spend more and more time together Jameson learns of her past as she slowly opens up to him. This story of heartbreak and love is told with the help of Gypsy's original songs. Kelly Moore is not only a great writer of stories but a beautiful songwriter as well!
A big sigh, a few sniffles and a table full of used tissues is what I got after I read this story. I wanted to hate it, a big hard no, considering I have to have a HEA in any book I read about romance. But this author is one of my favourites and I tried, I tried so hard to not read it and pass it up, and then I tried to convince myself I wouldn’t like it. Once again the talented writing, the amazing characters, the flawless writing, the emotions flying off the pages had me hooked and before I knew it, I was done, ripping yet another tissue out of my box and cursing the author for making me use up another box of tissues on another one of her books. Even though the ebook version doesn’t have a HEA, one is available and now I’m torn on which one I prefer...darn it !!!!
I swore to myself that I was only going to read the HEA of this book... and I did... until this afternoon.💔😭
Gypsy "Lyla" is broken and doesn't know if she's ever going to get better. Then she meets Jameson and feels a connection that's been missing for a while now. Jameson falls in love with her from the moment he hears her voice. But love isn't always an easy path.💕💗🔥💕
This story is so very well written and developed that it will pull you in and hold you there. The question is... will you play it safe and just read the HEA or will you read it as the author saw it ending? Tissues will be needed either way.❤️️
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kelly is one of my fav authors. Her stories are complicated and emotional and very addictive. Gypsy is the story of Lyla and Jameson. Gypsy is Lyla’s stage name. Jameson’s best friend Tyler tells him he needs to come and hear Gypsy sing and when he does he’s very taken with her. Once we begin to understand Gypsy’s story, it becomes clear why she isn’t interested in a recording contract. Their love is a slow burn. Gypsy has trauma’s that need to be healed. A complicated and compelling story which encompasses all the emotional “feels”. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book and purchased a copy as well
This really was an epic love story! Lyla(Gypsy) and Jameson were so incredible, and I just couldn't put this book down! There was so much love and passion and heartbreak and pain and it was a beautifully tangled web of emotions. I cried when they did and my heart broke for them. There are 2 ending to this and although you have the option to read both, i HIGHLY suggest picking one OR the other, do not read both! I only read one of them and i'm so glad i didn't choose to read the other. If you HAVE to have the HEA, then go for it, I personally think this story is absolutely beautiful is its ending.
