I just finished reading Reckless: Damaged & Destroyed by Lacey Heart. Let me start by saying that I really wanted to LOVE this book from the start on because its setting sounded perfect…. (yes you guess there is a but coming)
The first but that is coming is the one I dislike the most – the book is as it seems part of a series and ends on a cliffhanger. If you follow my reviews you know my strong feelings about this issue and actually, I am kind of happy that I have a second issue – because that one made sure I wasn’t struggling too much.
As I said the plot setting sounded pretty perfect to me so I was surprised that I could not connect with the plot like I usually do. It may be because the author kind of throws the reader right into the story and while we experience the story unfolding we do not get that much information on the background of the characters. So there wasn’t much to work with and It may be only me but I was not able to connect with the leads as I should.
Therefore the storyline felt distanced and cool to me, which made me sad as I felt that it had great potential. The Plot progressed and I found myself wondering about the characters and their motivations. The cool setting made their conversations seem harsh and/or stiff at times – and again I felt bad because I was hoping with each page turn that the next page would be the one where at least one of the leading characters would capture me.
But far too soon – as the book was shorter than I thought - the remaining pages became less and it became obvious that I would not find the end of the story within this book. So when I was staring at the final lines of the book I knew that the plot I read was good and that what would be coming would also probably be good – but the distance I had to the characters kept me from feeling too angry that it was a cliffhanger I was staring at.
And that is a very strange result for me to experience and I hope the author will forgive me for it. I feel sorry and bad about because as I said I really REALLY wanted to love this book just for its plot alone ….

“Reckless” by Lacey Heart was a lot shorter than I expected and was surprised I was able to complete it within one hour. To start things off, I thought the story was pretty much generic. There wasn't anything in particular that stood out with the storyline nor characters. The leads Amber and Rixon barely spent a total of fifteen minutes together before doing the do in a bathroom stall. It just didn't cut it for me. Also there was not much detail provided in regards the characters backgrounds or what they did for a living so some readers may feel a little loss as to why Rixon was so upset at Amber when they get to the cliffhanger. Overall, a quick and easy mediocre read.

This story caught my attention from the beginning. I loved the characters and their chemistry. This story was so well written and kept me engaged.

This book has lots of potential. I tried to really get into it but I felt it was rushed & to short for me to really get into it. I felt the characters needed more depth.

I’m hooked!
Reckless by Lacey Heart was a quick, sexy, drama filled read. It takes off right from the start and the ending leaves you wanting more
This is the first book to a series (I believe) and felt like a little teaser or an introduction to Amber and Rixon and a few of the secondary characters
Rixon being on top of his career as a America’s top fighter is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. He is also cocky, selfish, and only looking out for himself. We do however, get a small glimpse that there is more to him than this ‘bad boy’ persona
Amber, well we really don’t know too much about her backstory yet, other than her career and that she’s not interested in looking for a relationship. The two meet at an event and things take off from there.
I’m definitely hooked. I’m loving what’s happened so far. I need the next one ASAP!

This is my first read by this author. She has a new reader now!!
I got this as an ARC for an honest review and my honest review is this book was catching and wonderful! She had me roped in right away with the prologue.
I am so interested in the past of both Amber and Rixon. Why are they so drawn together? What are their demons they are hiding. But I loved that they are drawn together and how Rixon cannot seem to stop thinking of Amber just from their short introduction.
I will say that I hate that it ends in a cliffhanger right at a good part too! But I have heard that book 2 is almost ready to come out. So hopefully I don’t have to wait too long to get more Rixon and Amber!’
I would recommend this book if you are looking for a fast read, as I read this is less than a day. Don’t let that or the cliffhanger make up your mind, it is a great book. Also very very steamy!!

If you like dirty, Impulsive and Hot men, you will love Rixon Smith!! He could be a new book boyfriend - just saying!!
I devoured this book in one sitting. I was hooked from the first word. This book. These characters!!! They are amazing characters who drag you into the story and don’t let you go. The story behind this book is very realistic and you can relate with how stars live their lives. The steamy scenes were very steamy. He’s a very interesting character who you really want to know in real life. The author did an amazing job of portraying him and making him vulnerable with Amber. It’s shorter than normal ones I read, but it makes me want more!!!! Amazing job my Lacey Hart.
Rixon (fan my face) is a hot boxer who doesn’t let anyone close. Amber has a pst that she’s been hurt in. They meet. There is an explosion when they are together. Things happen. People are cruel and mean. There are misunderstandings. It ends with a cliffhanger. That’s all I’m writing. I don’t want to spoil it and you need to read it for yourself.

I do not know where to start as this is the first-time l have ever written a review. I am not new to reading Romance as it is my favourite genre and l have read a lot of books
So here goes Well for a first time Author first book Reckless: Damaged & Destroyed all l can say is WOW. This lady as got a talent with words. Without giving anything away l was hooked from the first Chapter. It is well written a lot of secrets the Characters are hiding which makes you want to get to know them more. I read the book in one night and again the next afternoon. This Author is going to be one to look out for as I see a very bright future ahead of her. She has left you on a great cliffhanger.
You would not guess this is her first book and l can not wait for the second book to come out. But wait l will.
I Wish Lacey Heart all the Very Best and if I could l would of given her more than 5 Stars.

This is an exceptionally well written book. But it ends on a cliffhanger!!! Gah - I hate that!!! Hopefully the next book is going to be released later today because I just have to know what happens next.
Rixon is such a cocky (insert rude word here) but I loved him. I liked how confident he was in himself, his only downside to me is that he doesn't necessarily treat the people around him as well as he should.
Amber has a whole lot of back story that needs to be told. I want to know why she hates men, but can then find herself so open with Rixon.
Hopefully all these questions will be answered in the next book.

Loved It
Rixon is the man. A fighter who hates the press. He meets Amber one night at a party for him and instantly wants her. Amber is not the girl he thinks that she is . But once he finds out the truth about her emotions explode. But that is where you are left wondering what is going to happen. I loved it. Instant fast paced well written. Enjoyable from beginning to end. A little upset about the ending. But can't wait to read the next one. I'm hooked.

This story is full of fire 🔥... super steamy! Rixton is a sexy alpha boxer who finds Amber and is instantly attracted to her. I really enjoyed the writing in this book. It was engaging and interesting. However, the characters were very underdeveloped and the story felt rushed. It also ends with a cliffhanger, which I always love. Looking forward to the next one!

This author and book is new to me and I definitely wasn't disappointed. I was really glad I read it.
This book is a quick and easy read and I read this book in one sitting.
It's a very hot, steamy and a sexy AF book which is always awesome.
This book and story had me hooked from the start and I felt held my attention completely.
I loved the characters in this book. Rixon comes across as a bad boy kinda guy and is quite selfish and a womanizer. Rixon is a boxer and he always gets what he wants.
Amber is a woman we don't know much about yet but we're desperate to know more. Everyone has there own demons and hers give her nightmares. For some reason Amber hates men maybe it's something from her past we don't know yet.
Rixon and Amber meet and he can't get enough of her, he feels completely consumed by her, he can't get her out of his head. Amber doesn't know that Rixon is famous and he likes that about her. Rixon finds it hard to trust and hates the press, Craig is his right hand man and will do anything for him to keep him protected.
These two characters are drawn together.
But oh wow!
What a cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed reading this book and even though it is a short book it fits a lot in, just enough, while still leaving you wanting more.
This authors writing is fantastic and I'm so glad I read this book, I'm even more happier the second book is out too.

3.5 Cranky Stars
Ok I know this one was setting us up for book two, but it was just ok for me.
I kept waiting for some insight as to why Rixon is a cold-hearted bastard and Amber supposedly hates men but I’m hoping that’s cleared up in the next book. I didn’t understand how Amber could be so anti man then drop her panties like she did. Rixon but I’m sorry I saw nothing redeeming about him and maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be. This book seemed short and naughty but there is a bigger story here. I can’t even comment on the characters personality because I’m not sure who they are supposed to be. I wanted to like it it had it’s moments but all in all I’m just left feeling very okkkkkk sure about it. Don’t hate me!! I’m going read book two now for hopefully some answers.
