Haunt

Rate this book
The poems in this chapbook excavate loss and all its components: the emotional core of melancholy, healing versus remedy, the memorial versus the mundane. Some pieces twist the meaning of loss into the shape of home and belonging, or gentrification. Others are about grief as premonition, the actual movement of killing. Still others place the ownership of something as a kind of placeholder for losing it. The choreography of haunting is constantly at work.
