"but monachopsis, however. monachopsis is a word that belongs. a companion that will always be there. four little syllables that fill in the missing blanks."

Monochopsis is like no poetry book I've read before. I have been following Lauren on Instagram for a while now and love her words. This collection is beautiful and really reflects her talent with words. I enjoyed it.
I have been waiting a long time to get my hands on this book.
I love the creativity of the author here. Every poem is like a new style or some exploration of a feeling; traveling with the same destination in mind, alas, a walk through the mind.
While I appreciate the imagination, I did feel sometimes the periods were used a lot in a particular style.
Unrequited love, growth, feeling isolated are a few of the main themes of the book. I was a little letdown, but on the whole, a great book. I will surely be buying any future books by Lauren McCombe!
A beautiful debut. Very proud of the work put into the collection. Everything is very relatable and each poem is strong on a stand-alone viewpoint, and only becomes stronger as they connect into an overall message — that it is okay, absolutely okay, to be alone sometimes. It’s a way of growing and becoming...can’t wait for what the future has in store.
