History written by its winners.
This book has an outstanding collection of pictures of the US Marine Corp during the invasion of Iwo Jima. Other than that, it's a below-average book which only relates one side of the conflict without any slight attempt of impartiality. There are plenty of books that better capture the reality (and humanity) of war.
