Liliana Ricci Growing up in Boston as the daughter of the mafia's leader has its perks. I never grew up wanting anything with monetary value, never went hungry or thirsty and always had a bed to sleep in. What I craved was companionship, love, freedom. My father arranged my marriage to one of the most ruthless in the Mob, Antonio Moretti, notorious for being cold and calculating. He is the newest Don of the mafia's Outfit in Chicago due to the death of his father. The Outfit is weakened from the Bratva and my father thinks this marriage will help our ties. I'm nothing more than a business deal. I've heard rumors and stories of Antonio Moretti that frighten me to my very core. I'm not ready to give up my innocence, I'm not ready to be forced into a loveless marriage like all women unfortunate enough to be born into this life.Antonio MorettiThe Bratva slaughtered my father along with eighteen others on a mission. A mission I should have been on with my younger brother. Now I am the rightful Don of the Outfit. This isn't the first time within the past few months that the Bratva has attacked and slaughtered my soldiers, there has to be a rat. The only way to get my revenge is if I have help from Boston. Marco Ricci offers a good majority of his men in exchange that I marry his nineteen-year-old daughter, Liliana. I never once saw myself as the married type or the father type, but I know the job description and what is expected of me. I agree with the marriage because I need the men.One look into her blue eyes and already I feel...strange. She is captivating, she is innocent, but she is unlike any of the other women I have met. She is feisty and reserved and not flinging herself at me like I'm used to. I refuse to get close to her. Closeness is a weakness. This book has adult situations and language and is recommended for readers eighteen and older.
Fantasy and romance writer living in New York. 21 year old psychology student and cat lover. I hope to travel the world, write more books and own more cats.
I felt like I was reading a book about a low-budget mafia romance movie where the actors were terrible. This Laos seemed like a bad knock-off version of Bound by Honor by Cora Reilly.
Liliana was TSTL. I hate it when mafia heroines seem like they are just learning everything now. They grew up in the mafia and are still shocked when something that should be normal to them happens. She was just so idiotic.
Antonio was the worst mafia hero I have ever read. He was so stupid. He killed people for no reason, which is, realistically, a total risk in their world.
Overall, if you are desperate for a mafia romance, maybe, but other than that I would not recommend.
P.S. Bonus points for an amazing cover with one of my favorite treats, macarons, on it!
Thanks for all support I’ve received from this book! I understand there are grammatical errors and I am so sorry about that! I try to catch as much as I can but the reality is I’m a self-published author and I do not have a professional editor to help me make this book as perfect as a traditionally published book. Still, thank you for giving this book a chance. It means the world to me!
This is a mafia story with such an interesting cast! We have our young and innocent Lily thrown into the arms of the Young Capo, Antonio who seems to be as fond of the idea of arranged marriage as Lily??! They have to be careful and never invest their hearts into the idea of love in marriage otherwise their feelings might be used against them!
You cannot help bur root for these cuties!!! They are both such cinnamon rolls🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I really was engrossed in the story plus all the steamy scenes we are getting!!
one of the best book I ever read. liliana Ricci was so sweet and innocent while Antonio Morretti not cruel but hides his emotions so well. their love story took time to build. I loved it and I recommend this book to everyone who loves forced marriage. I hated Liliana's father and brother; they were so fucking fucked up they choose power and reign over love and family they were selfish and deserved what happened to them. also, I liked Angelo he was super sweet and loved his sister Liliana, you will like Arabella and Carmelo and I wanted to read their story if there is one. anyway, I loved this book so much <3 <3
Love to hate romance. If you love mafia romance you know that the men are cruel, so if cruel men offend you don’t read. If arranged marriages offend you, don’t read. It’s a stand-alone mafia romance with focus on Liliana and Antonio’s relationship. People within the mafia betray Antonio and mess with an aspect of his married life and Something brings the two of them together. I think this book was really great to read in one sitting. There were nice romance scenes and you grow to care for the characters. I’d love to see Arabella’s story.
Trope was arrange marriage(duh), age-gap, mafia romance. Father of the h arranged her marriage w H to form a alliance. But h don't wanna marry H cz it'd be a loveless marriage....
The first half of the book was really boring and predictable. And the h(liliana) was so immature, it made me laugh. Hopefully 2nd half was better, readable. Arabella, she's been thru a lot in this book, i hope she gets her HEA in the 2nd book. Lots of typos all over the book 😪
Safety h 19 yr old(virgin) H 28 yr old (whorish) Mention of rape, torture, abduction, drug, abuse
Liliana is forced into an arranged marriage with the boss of Chicago’s mafia. Antonio is the new boss, his father just died, and he is keeping his distant from Liliana. It starts off with them hating their marriage. Antonio doesn’t want to get too close to Liliana, and Liliana and just upset over losing her freedom and a dream to have a choice in marriage and in her life in general. We learn later that someone has sabotaged the couple and betrayed the Chicago mafia (I won’t spoiler) and all goes wrong—you’ll have to read to find out if these two learn to love each other, and will they survive, and who is against them? I really enjoyed this book! If you like hate—>love books, traditional mafia romance, Arranged marriage love, smut...then this is for you!
Trigger: Mention of rape, murder and physical and mental touture
Short review: Romance week 2020 I think this is a problem with GR. You finish one book of a certain genre and it starts throwing recommendations. I finished another mafia book The Italian couple of weeks ago and here we are.
This book is not a storybook, it is wishful thinking. Naive heroine, ruthless douche of a hero and Stockholm syndrome, you get the Mafia romance. Most of this type of troupe revolves around sexual tension and boredom (see Stockholm syndrome again). While tested SS works like magic, I mean how many times heroine is going to get massages and baths, the later one fizzles like prosecco sitting in my fridge since Christmas. It could have been done better.

Recommended: If you like this genre then I guess this is far decent book then some of them I read in past and DNFed.
Aftermath: (possible spoilers)
I want to read Arabella's story but I know if Lilian's story was painful, Arabella's would be 10 times worse. That being said, she needs her happily ever after so I am tempted.
I follow the author on Instagram and was excited for this book. I love a good romance and this intrigued me. The author is self-made so I understand if there are editing mistakes etc, I thought it was good. It was a nice standalone read although I would love to see a spinoff with either Arabella or Angelo. I really loved Liliana and Antonio.
It was a little bit of "not so hot couple" book....... I was just not able to feel their vibe but yet this is a mafia arranged marriage romance which make me give it 3 stars
I really liked the intensity of this book. It was well written and well paced. I thought the characters really fit the story and helped make it believable.
The two main characters again were really well thought out. I liked their chemistry. The way their love story had to build helped become emotionally invested in the story.
Alpha males and helpless heroines always make for a good read.
Nice quick read. Gotta love the mafia world, I’ll read anything mafia romance related. Eventually they all blend, but it’s my favorite to read. This self published author did pretty well for her first romance book. I found myself rooting for Antonio and Liliana and loved their steamy scenes!
I've been following Emmy since I found her acotar fan account on insta years ago. Im so happy to see that she is making her dreams come True. This book is quite good for self- published author, but needs more originality in my op.it's like Aria and Luca fanfic.
I’ve tried you guys , I pushed and closed my eyes to the missing words and lack of structure and the immaturity of it all but I can’t , it’s not fair on me , my friends are tried of hearing me complain , and frankly it’s not fair on my therapist either , she’s gonna hear my rant now because this has aggravated me something serious …
I have never EVER highlighted and added notes it’s so bad you guys .
I was willing to make exceptions and excuses and suspend reality time space and life to make it work but it can’t be a one sided deal .
I’ve giving up at pages 138 then skimmed until 200 it wasn’t worth it . What a bloody waste of life . The H is not even written well there was zero efforts he could be talking like Tarzan “ me Tarzan , you Jane “ it wouldn’t make a difference , don’t get me started on the most annoying winny immature and DUMB h ever written Shes soooo thic like what the actual fuck . I could tell the author tried to make a aria Luca ( Cora Rilley) type of story but it was the nock off of the nock off of the nock off of the real deal . I made my notes public maybe the author could learn a Thing or 2 but please for the love of common sense good taste and standards do not read . ✌️

I found the characters and the plot very entertaining. It was hard to put the book down. We learn about Lily who is the Don of Boston's daughter and we learn that she is going to marry Antonio who is the new Don of Chicago. Lily is a character who radiates innocence and we see she doesn't want to be shackled in a marriage to the ruthless, cruel don. We get some POV of Antonio and he's very interesting and definitely more complex than he seems. I thought the story had a lot of twists and turns and is definitely worth the big of you are a big fan of romance that is steamy and has a hate to live with a dominant alpha male.
It was so fast-paced at the beginning and the writing style made me cringe so much, The author mentioned his nightmare once and I thought that would have explained his (Antonio) character more but it didn't. I wish I knew more about him in order to see how he really struggled. The characters needed more history as to why they are the way they are and without a little history, it kinda made them less interesting. Rocco was more interesting than his brother and that was frustrating because I could pick and notice some things in (Rocco's behavior)
Well it was good but it has typos too many of em like I had to read a sentences 3 or 4 times just to understand what the person is saying like One time it said "he Asia" rather than "he ask"
First part was kind of hard to get through like it was annoying and the accidental pregnancy had me wanting to throw it but I am glad I sticked The book kinda seems like someone read a lot of mafia books and started writing one and then didn't know how to write so wrote whatever came to mind some thing that made it look childish (aka someone like me)😭😭
The writing was screwed up in some parts. Some words were missing or spelled incorrectly but that doesn't usually bother me so if it does for some then you're probably going to get annoyed quickly.
However I think the story was good. I teared up a few times too. So overall I liked it well enough. Wish the epilogue would've featured the cousin and bodyguard a bit. Fingers crossed for them.

The author mentions that she is self published and there will be errors in the book. Yes there are errors in the book, however I really enjoyed this book. It is your typical mafia romance but it had more story and the main characters didn’t just fall in love straight away. If you can put up with the odd spelling mistake or misplaced word then read this and enjoy.
The storyline was good. Great plot and great twists. Likable characters. The writing was just off for me. Felt rushed and slow at the same time. Antonio's thinking was also a huge turn off. Can't abide a hero who okays a wife being bitten as long as it's not in his presence. That was the biggest turn off.
The story itself was pretty good. It took me a little while to like the main characters; that said, by the end, I appreciated Lily and Antonio. The constant typos (misspellings, missing words, added words, punctuation) every couple pages were distracting. If it didn’t have so many typos, I’d have given the story a 4/5.
i’ve seen a few people mention that liliana is tstl and i didn’t make it far enough in the book to truly come to a conclusion on that what i can say is she was one of the most annoying female characters i have ever read!! she was a brat and then some. i couldn’t find anything that even made sense about her personality. just no 👎🏻
