Dean loves his crew, his beer, and long weekends. When Bell arrives in her delivery truck with his favorite beer, he realizes that she might be the perfect woman for him. Everyone calls him Dickweed. Bell agrees that his inner lion is a complete jerk, but what’s a girl gotta do to find out a guy’s actual name? The two of them are awesome together, but the appearance of a strange shifter might ruin everything for them. Dean can take care of himself, but Bell’s just human and she’s not the kind of woman to throw herself into a dangerous relationship, no matter how perfect his hugs are. Gob-Smacked is a fun paranormal romance with a twist of humor. Plenty of f-bombs, but sweet as cotton candy and just as fluffy.
Jen Winters fell in love with paranormal romance after her daughter was born and she needed a way to escape reality for a few minutes a day. She loved it so much she decided to take her own pen to it. The world of the Guardians was developed through deeply irreligious conversations with her father who likes to misinterpret scripture as often as humanly possible and a good dose of did-I-just-read-that-! when looking into ancient near eastern mythology and scripture.
This is a fun and lighthearted read. The story flows smoothly. I love how imperfect the characters are and how they balance strength and weakness. The plot is not too complex yet engaging. It keeps the reader focused on the relationships and finely detailed characters. Definately a good read when you need a smile and a great craft brew! I certainly hope there is more to come.
This book was a fluffy, amusing book about crazy-fun characters. I loved Dean's openness and energetic attitude. He's definitely a guy I'd love to hang around with.
Bell also amused me. And her beer names were fantastic! A shame I don't like beer because I would've loved to try hers.
And now I'm invested in the next book. I need to know what happens with the other characters!
