Dark romance? Call it no romance. Let me start out by saying how much I hated the book. To be more specific wealthy douchebag Meik. The only redeeming think about it was the hot smut. But the way Meik treats Sebastian is enough to make my blood boil.

Sebastian is a gifted but homeless street musician who Meik is obsessed with and decides to make his boy toy. Meik literally treats him like a hole to fuck. He doesn’t talk to Sebastian or care about his feelings. And this is justified on the basis of Meik’s continued trauma from losing his childhood love. A ton of flashbacks are interspersed throughout the story harking back to his perfect first love. These give insight to present day Meik and apparently give him a pass for his vile behavior. And worse of all is that Sebastian is a pushover and accepts this abuse. The author tries to pass it off as Sebastian enjoying rough sex (which he does), but it’s clear he feels like a piece of meat. So yeah, hot smut couldn’t make up for the horrible MCs.

Pretty delicious depiction. I could see all the amazing details of the simultaneously moving bodies. It was quite delightful dirty and filthy.
Maik found Sebastian on the streets and can’t get him out of his mind.
Maik got everything... and now he wants the beautiful fragile Sebastian... for his own pleasure.
He wants to color that pale skin... First... he has to find him.

Loved this shortie very much. The images it brought to life were strong and clear..

#2
Omg this is something else...
While Sebastian is still in Meik his apartment we get a look into a past... an unexpected one... Just a fraction revealed, slightly enough to get a bit of a picture... but dear goodness there are some skeletons.

The question rise who is obsessed and about exactly what...?

Amazingly catchy story, strong written and very captivating.
The sexy scenes are scorching as hell... dirty and high voltage brute sex... no fondness or sweetness... so you know! But there is some kind of promise that deep down there are feelings and emotions... or maybe it is just my hope lol
Two opposites yearning for the same... release... but will that be enough? Hmm I doubt.
It end with a cliff and thank goodness I have already the next installment (I hate cliffs)

#3
This was above all I expected.
Sebastian is getting more and more woven with Meik... Sebastian even thinks he has feelings.
Meik is allergic for feelings and doesn’t want this, he will do everything to avoid any kind of emotional connection.

We get to know more of the past and damn i felt my heart crack.

Between all the scorching scenes -which are never repetitive and all hot dripping and arousing-there is more... a story to tell... I’m anxious about the progress.
The building up is clever done and I can already see the train come crashing...
Again a strong written story that kept me on the edge of my chair.

#4
How much can my heart handle ... it hurt, it broke, it shattered.

Amazingly written story!! Harsh, emotional... going sooo unbelievable deep... to the deepest parts of my emotions... so much of everything...

Meik hit rock bottom... realizing he did the worst to Sebastian and it’s irreversible...
He can’t get his life back on track.
Finally we get to know the real Meik... and goshh is he something!!

The previous parts showed a hint... even small... I felt it... there is more...much more than only delicious overwhelming smut
And then...... nooooo... oh.. noooo... I knew it was coming... but like this...? I’m a wreck... can’t even write my review because my eyes are blurred.

An emotional rollercoaster... it started all with a sweet and kind drizzle and ended with a tidal wave... a tsunami... of feelings... it dragged me with it and I almost drowned.

Superior written story! It had so much sparkling energy. Clever developed with various angles.. Meik was enchanting in this part. I read it in one breath... it brought me to my knees.!
Extremely captivating journey of four short stories, it had everything!! I didn’t want it to end!

Highly recommended

LOVE THIS SERIES. And happy to see it's now all one big, beautiful book!!

Book 1:
My complaint? Too short!! Too short!! Thank God there's a book two coming out!

So Meik is a bad dude; noted. I don't mean he murders people, but he's definitely a sexy beast who sees and takes what he wants. Enter Sebastian: super sexy, super pretty guitar player. Meik has to have him ... and he does, many times.

The fun of this novella is that we don't wade through backstory. I understand there's a time and place for complex character development, but there's also a time for yummy yummy smut. Some days, a girl just wants smut. Quin Perin (actually a writing duo) are really good at smut. This is some delicious stuff, folks, especially some of the bedroom dialogue. And the alley scene. And the shower. And just, well, everything.

Excellent writing. Excellent sex. And yes, I'm in a huge Timothee Chalamet haze right now, so when Sebastian's description was basically Timothee, I may have squealed and got comfy. I read this in one sitting; now, gimme book two.

Book 2:
The hot, hot sexy times between Meik and Sebastian continue ... but beware! There be some angst here! In book two, we get a closer look into Meik's past (for instance, why he freaks out when Sebastian gets sick from a winter chill). Their relationship changes and grows and develops. The SEXXX is still hot as ever OMG, but there's more depth here. I'm super interested to see where book three goes!! This does end on a cliffhanger that made me want to stomp my feet and pout, but it'll be worth the wait for book three. Maybe we'll learn more about Sebastian?!? I adore this snarky, pretty sub :)

Book 3:
I'm not crying; YOU'RE crying.

I realize there's a lot of super sexy, glorious smut in this third installment of Meik and Sebastian's anti-love story ... but there's a lot of emotion, too. We get heartbreaking backstory on Meik and learn a bit more about our sassy musician. And trust me, Sebastian is sassy (and sexy) as ever.

Several scenes sent my heart into a pitter-patter while others made me moist. MY EYES. My eyes were moist! (Come on, people.) There's one sex scene in particular that made my heart melt.

This ain't just stupendous smut anymore, folks. These are characters with baggage and hearts that can be broken. And that ending .... Yeesh. Gimme book four.

Book 4:
Sobbing. I'm just ... sobbing. Partially because this series is (for now) over (although maybe we can talk the authors into another one ...). I'm also crying because GABE!!!! OMG GABE!!!!

The love story of Meik and Sebastian began as lust with no emotion, no meaning. Imagine stubborn Meik's surprise when he actually starts falling for the kid, but due to past pain, he fears "falling for" someone ever again. Sebastian, however, isn't so easy to forget.

We get a ton of backstory on Meik here, especially in regards to his first love, the adorable Gabe, so a lot of Meik's assholery makes a ton of sense. The sex scenes were sweet, the character development excellent, and Meik's desperate effort to win Seb back highly emotional.

Yeah, last book in the series, I know ... but give me more maybe??

This book came as a series earlier, and I loved Sebastian and was kinda pissed at Meik.
But after Gabe's story had been told, I understood why did Meik become like he is now.
I came to like Gabe, he's sweet and adorable. And I guess, Meik found a little piece of Gabe in Sebastian. The look, the sweetness, as if Gabe reincarnated to Sebastian.
I rarely gives erotic stories five stars. But Obsessed gave me something different. Started with an erotic that was meant to have no romance, Obsessed thick with a romance element after all.
Quin and Perin outdid themselves giving erotic romance a new standard.
And I'm happy that I decided to give this story a go.
Cannot wait for another naughty lists from Quin and Perin!

25% Meik's deceased boyfriend, 50% Meik being a toxic asshole, 25% Meik drinking to cope with his own behavior.

This was really just a poorly executed idea. I certainly see the potential but the writing/pacing was incredibly off. We jumped from one sex scene to another with random flashbacks to Meik's time with Gabe, which tried to show that Meik is heartless now due to the love of his life dying. However, I think nothing in the world could justify the way he treated Sebastian. He treated Sebastian like a whore, a hole for him to use, something to play with at his beck and call. Additionally, he veered into the abusive category with his behavior and was OTT controlling. Meik and Sebastian's "relationship" was toxic, with Sebastian staying simply because he would be homeless otherwise.

After Meik badly fucks up, he wallows in his misery and copes by excessively drinking himself to death. We spend what feels like a million pages in flashbacks with Gabe, where we see that Meik once had a heart and knew what kindness was. Strangely enough, much of those flashbacks involved sexual activities, which was a strange choice when the book is about Meik's relationship with someone else. When Meik finally gets his shit together, there is minimal groveling on his part and Sebastian hardly stands up for himself. The book abruptly ends and we get no insight into how they're going to transition to a healthy relationship.

Again - great idea, terrible execution.

I haven’t even been reviewing lately, and I have a huge backlog bc of that...but for this one, yeah I’ll make an exception. Straight to the front of the line. Because it was that fucking terrible lol. Nothing about this was good. The romance was non existent. The sex scenes were horrible and boring. The mcs didn’t even have an inkling of chemistry. And that’s if you could even call Sebastian a main character. It was more like he was a guest star who signed on for a few episodes of the Meik show. And what a drab fucking show it was. Meik was a broody self obsessed asshole with too much emotional baggage and not in a good way. He barely had any personality and what little he did have was overshadowed by the fact that he was way too damn dramatic and if I didn’t mention it before a complete fucking asshat. The story had potential. But the execution left everything to be desired. I what little we did see of dear Sebastian. He deserved better all around. I Would have loved to get to know his character better. But not in this story. Not as it is. Bc then I would have been ever more upset at how Meik did him. And the switch up at the end really killed me. I laughed. None of it was believable. Not from good old Meik. No.
Overall? Haaated Iiiit. One star. Not sorry lol.

Scorchingly hot, unapologetically smutty, sneakily romantic and utterly heartbreaking.
What a rollercoaster this book has been! It’s so refreshingly different and original.
Absolutely amazing debut!!

The story is written from the pov of Meik Lennen, a man who seemingly has it all and is bored with the sameness of his easy, luxurious life. Until... a chance encounter with a mysterious street musician, Sebastian.

There's a lot of very hot dirty talk and gratuitous sex, deliberately throwing the reader off the scent of the unique love story that is to follow. Almost slyly at first, the authors drop little hints to help the reader understand Meik better and gradually flashbacks are introduced as the story unfolds further. These give us a truly heart-rending glimpse into Meik's past and it finally starts to make sense why he is so broken and closed-off.

Honestly, I love Meik!! He starts out, and continues for quite a while, as a real jerk, but in the end I just wanted to cuddle him and cheer him on. After shaking him a little (no, a lot), because the man is so oblivious! Sebastian remains a mystery for some time, because we get our info through Meik and he’s not always the most perceptive of narrators. I like Seb’s resilience and his acceptance of Meik, warts and all.

As the emotional connection between Meik and Sebastian continues to grow, Meik is forced to recognize that he actually feels something for the younger man. Something more than lust, that is. Can't say he gives in with good grace, but he does go after his man in his own fashion. The continuing flashbacks into Meik's past are beautifully written and very sweet, poignantly so.

After a certain event… Meik and Sebastian have a falling out of sorts. The L-word is still something Meik has a lot of trouble accepting, and he fights it. So hard. Will he have the courage to embrace it (again), knowing how deeply it hurts when things go south?

The story concludes in a very unique way, with the focus shifting even more to Meik’s origin story.
He is always so blunt, arrogant and cold even (on the outside) that seeing him so vulnerable and sweet with his first love was an endearing change of pace. Knowing what was coming didn’t make it any easier to read though. Meik’s emotions are raw and overwhelming, his grief so real. He’s totally forgiven for closing his heart off like he did.

I adore Quin & Perin’s writing style. They are brilliant with picking the right word or comparison to make the reader understand just how much their character is feeling. I love the way they cut off sentences to create more tension and heighten emotions.

Can't wait to see what they bring us next!

This series is raw, gritty, deep, and hotter than a midsummer’s day in Texas. I love the fact it’s in bundle form now. I read it all as a series and am thrilled to have bonus content! Quin & Perin are unique authors who are bringing a new standard to erotica romance.

#1
This novella really hit all the right filthy and sexy notes. I’m really enjoying reading these authors because even though this had a strong emphasis on erotica, it still held enough of a plot and had an emotional pull to it that kept me engaged. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing whether the authors go with the story, especially as the ending is very abrupt. 5 stars for a successfully filthy beginning.

#2
Not only is this a scorching novella, but the authors also started shading in more character development, especially for Meik. I really love the tension they used throughout the book. It created a really good baseline for the story. Every moment of this novella was carefully thought out. I found each word purposeful and that is sometimes missing in the erotica genre. The emotional intensity also increased with this book and I am left begging for the next. 5 stars for an emotional and scorching read!

#3
This may be classified as erotica but be prepared for an excellent plot. Most of all, you'll find all the emotions in it. Don't be surprised if at the end you realize Quin and Perin now hold your heart in their hands. I'm anxiously awaiting book 4. While this is a novella, it really increased the connection and character development. Definitely can't forget the steamy scenes though because these authors know how to bring it! Absolutely phenomenal job. 5 stars for captivating steaminess with plenty of heart.

#4
Quin and Perin offer a unique perspective on the erotica and romance genre. It's a refreshing and powerful change. As with each previous novella, the character development and world building is continually strengthened. This novella did have less steaminess to it than the others, however the emotional intensity couldn't be better. I do wish this had been longer, but that's mainly because I don't want it to be over. I have completely fallen in love with the characters and the story these two gifted authors wove. 5 stars for a captivating conclusion!

TL;DR: Very hot but could have used more connection with the romance.
The first few books don’t have any romance, but are hot. By the end of the story we do get the romance. We only get Meik’s POV, and while we also get plenty of background on why Meik is so cut off from feelings, I still felt slightly distanced from the romance...perhaps because we get barely any information about Sebastian or an inkling of his feelings. He has very little dialog. It’s interesting bc we get the connection and feelings with Meik’s backstory...all the warmth and love with his ex is there...which made it more glaringly missing from his relationship with Sebastian.

I am so surprised about the high rating of this book. What am I missing?
I’ve read M/M books quite often is this is surely not at the top. It’s not s love story, which I get going in but there was also no real connections period.

The author didn’t come back to Gabe and Meik explaining why Meik was the way he was. Even knowing what happened to Gabe didn’t close the gap. I wasn’t thrilled to even get that much of their story. I would have preferred more of Sebastian and Meik.

It was just okay for me.

A 4 book summary

The epilogy dealing with Sebastian is the piece de resistance of this whole series. The other 4 parts relate to these 2 with the past history of Meik and Gabe but now the reader is submerged into Sebastian's fight to survive.

This was a phenomenal book, erotica at its finest by two new authors who are posed to bring 'smut to a new level.'
The writing is sensual and enticing, I was surprised by the depth of the characters and the skill of the writers who claim this is their first book.
"Soothing and intriguing, the music wrapped around him and guided him towards a small crowd at the opening of an alleyway."
"A profane prayer escaped from between those deliciously soft lips."
"Like little waterfalls, the drops sluiced down his back, pouring over the curve of his perky ass."
I will be waiting patiently to see what these authors release next.
"Hellfire burned in his eyes, and pure lecherous sin twisted in his grin."
As character development continues, the physical relationship becomes more intense. Meik is overbearing and harsh at times with Sebastian, and Meik's past is like a ghost on his shoulder at times. Sebastian is still much of a mystery to the reader.
"An angel fallen from heaven and right into his lap."
"The way his eyes rolled and lashes fluttered as his arm tensed, the quiet whimper that fell from him- it all told the story."
"And then, like an eagle plummeting down to catch its prey, their lips crashed together."
Meik thinks he has things all figured out, but he doesn't. Sebastian seems to know all the right buttons to push and how to flow with Meik's moods.
"Meik lifted Sebastian's hand, his warm breath ghosting across the back of it until he kissed his skin gently."
"The air between them ignited, simmering with lust, crackling with desire."
"Meik watched as a leer belonging to the devil himself spread across Sebastian's pretty face."
Excellent writing and a hook to grab the reader's attention at the end.
"Murmurs and kisses sprinkled over Gabe's back like raindrops."
Be prepared for emotions and a total overabundance of love especially for loves lost. The authors take us back in the past and to the future to really understand Meik's life and why he is struggling in this fourth book in the series.
"His dark eyes glittered, and a rose petal pink blush adorned his cheeks."
Excellent writing and a book this reader could not put down until done.
A beautiful story, summarized with some extras in this combined edition.

3.5 stars. This very steamy book was really two stories intertwined together. The first story about a hard-nosed businessman who comes across a street performer he falls in lust with, drops a $50 bill in the guy's guitar case and they end up in the alley with the street performer proving his mouth works as well as his guitar hands. The businessman ends up finding the street performer again and again until he finally moves him into his apartment (it is obvious the performer lives on the streets). Good beginning that gets me really interested in this book.

Then we skip to a time when the businessman was a teenager who has obviously fallen in love with a schoolmate and we are supposed to now, I guess, be engrossed in this relationship. Then we go back and forth in time pretty much to the end.

At times this felt like a "triangle" which I hate and avoid at all costs in books I read. If I had to guess, the authors were trying to humanize the businessman by relating his teenage love as to why he was such a jerk to his guitar player.

So to sum the whole thing up as best I can, the story the book started with, 4 stars; the teenage love story, 2 stars; overall 3.5 stars.

Not a romance novel...def an erotic novel. Filled with all the hot AF sex and a messed up Meik and his past, causes some pretty intense scenes and story.

To say that Meik becomes humanized through out this book sounds wrong but honestly it is the best word I can use to describe how much I ached to just hug him and tell him everything was going to be alright.

I fell in love not only with Meik but Gabe and Sebastian also. We have some very heartfelt moments, some heartbreak, and lots and lots of hot sex.

I know that after reading this I was so torn. I loved Meik and Sebastian but I also love Meik and Gabe. I didn't know who I wanted together the most nor did I want it to end. What I love most about Quin and Perin is that everything is left open ended and we can imagine our own HEA for the characters but also leaves it so that if they ever desire to return to these characters to give us more it is there for them to do.

This bundle is a great idea as you don't have to wait for the next book. Meik and Sebastian have an explosive relationship and they are very complex characters that are all well written.
Meik never needs or wants anyone again. That's what he keeps telling himself. Throughout these books you learn about Miek's past that makes him the man he is today. Miek doesn't want to face his past but he can't really stop it once it starts.
Sebastian falls for Miek easily but he knows it probably won't end well for him. Meik keeps pulling him close and then pushing him further away. All Sebastian can do is wait and see if Miek can come out the other side and if he'll want him.
The sex scenes are hot and steamy and almost explosive! The whole book is well written and this is a great read. The characters are well developed and this makes this series a fantastic read. As a reader I can't wait to see what Quin Perin does next!

Heartwrenching

An absolute rollercoaster of a book, reading the story I've laughed out loud and sobbed in equal measure. I can't recommend this highly enough.
Meik is a man who has shut down his emotions and uses people and sex to bring his release with no thought for them. A tragedy as a young man has left him empty and unwilling to open up, or the chance of anything more.
Meeting a young homeless man, Sebastian makes him look at things a little differently. The feelings that creep under his armour mean he needs a tighter rein emotionally and using Sebastian as his personal whore is his way of getting back control.
When they discover how deep their feelings run another hurdle is met and Sebastian disappears, knowing that he needs to set his cards on the table, Meik begins his search.
Can things be made right or is Meik going back to the controlling, uncaring man he was?

Steamy Goodness

This is a hot and steamy one! If you’re looking for that - you’ve found it here! Meik and Sebastian will leave you wanting more and leave you irrationally angry if you need to put it down for real life. I was hooked right at the start, and Meik and Sebastian’s story just keeps pulling me in. Like, how does the sex continue to get hotter (like super-hot – fans self)? Cue the emotional angst of Meik’s past, and you start to feel bad about the love/hate relationship you’ve felt with Meik throughout the story and now…well you need to read this and see what you think! Meik had to hit rock bottom to be able to see that he still has love to give, and that he is also worthy of that HEA. This is going to have all the feels, so get ready!

Note to Authors: Um, more please?

It's always when I think a book is going to be full of hot kinky sex that I get blown away. Let me say first that this book is FULL of hot and kinky sex. And it's fabulous! But somewhere along the line you realize that there's way more to this story than you think. And that's where things get really interesting.

I knew where the backstory with Gabe was going. It's hard not to. And I tried really hard to not get attached. I didn't want the heartache that I knew was coming. But it didn't matter. It came and so did the tears.

I loved Sebastian. He was a feisty one. I liked his toughness as much as his vulnerability. Meik was a tough guy to like. He grows on you though. Kind of. I think it wasn't until the very end that I truly started to feel for him. But I think that's why he had Sebastian (and Gabe). They balanced him out and showed his ability to love.

If this booked is based strictly on smut factor, I would give it 5 stars. It's very steamy but everything else egh. We never learn anything about Sebastian who is supposed to be a main character in this series because it's told throughout the point of view of Miek who never once asks anything about him. We never even learn his last name. The reader never gets to see the to characters actually be in a loving relationship because again it's told through the point of view of Miek who literally refers to Sebastian as a whore the entire series. There is more love shown between Miek and his ex Gabe than is ever shown to Sebastian. Again my biggest issue is we never learn one thing about Sebastian. The reader never has the chance to get to know him.

One of my favorite book

I finished Obsessed few days ago and I think this book is gonna stay in my head for a long time.
This book is so powerful I was caught with the story from the beginning.
I loved Meik from the start, I am a sucker for tortured guys so he really was a good fit for me.
I loved to get to know him, to know why he was so mean and hard and at the same time so likeable.
I loved his relationship with Sebastian.
I was heart broken with Gabe even if I was prepared for it.
I just wanted more!
To sum it up is a great book, welI written, I really recommend it!

Meik was a pretty cold guy and an asshole, but he grows on you, especially when you realize why he’s that way. Sebastian is the sassy sweetheart that finally thaws Meik’s heart. Together they are hot and perfect! I really wish this had more about their life together after Meik realizes what he has with Sebastian.

Unbelievable

This pulls at your emotions.. At times I wanted to hate Meik, but I understood he was coming from a place of pain. I wanted to put Sebastian into a caccoon to protect him, because I knew that he had to endure something awful to become homeless and Gabe, I wanted a miracle... What an amazing book

Not a romance

There is nothing fluffy or romantic about this book. Your choices are pissed-off, horney, or crying. I mean, I'm gonna read it again because the sex scenes are, like, redick hot. I don't even care that we don't get any info or backstory on Seb until the freaking epilogue, Imma give it 5 stars anyway. Why? Because this is some of the best erotica I've read.

Woke up with a headache and really swollen eyes.
The best part?
