Rama is tasked with the secret mission of securing the scripts and handing them back to their rightful owners. I am huge fan of Indian mythology genre. So I picked up this book. The Book’s name is “The Ramayana Secret” So I was aware that it will be related to Ramayana. As I am really fond of mythology genre, I have read many books on Ramayana and I was afraid that this will be more or less similar. But to my surprise it was quite different and yet wonderful. I picked up this book because of mythology genre, the catchy cover and I read good reviews about it and definitely it didn’t fail me. As you all can guess it will be about Rama story. Let me tell you how it is different from other mythological books that are based on Ramayana. In the beginning of the book the family tree of Kosala, Videha and Anga kingdoms and The family tree of Lankans are given. And the story begins right from there. I have read many books based on Ramayana but this one started right from “Ikshvaku” and “Rituparna” Initial few chapters are about ancestors of Rama and Ravana about them I never read and it was really interesting. If we talk about book, I love the plot. It’s quite different. Much details are added compared to other books. Good use of vocabulary and language. It’s written in such a lovely way that it holds your attention till the end. I recommend this to everyone. Especially it’s a must read for mythology lovers!
Name of the book - The Ramayana Secret by Anurag Chandra. Stars given - 5 on 5 stars. My take on the book- Have you ever read a book that left you so stunned that you had to to take some time and realize what you just read. Like take some time and let the whole idea sink in? This is what happened with me when I read this book. Honest confession I don't like the way Sita was handled in Ramayana. And this is something I had a problem with ever since I was a kid. My grandparents were very much into mythology. My Nani read me most of my mythology stories but my grandfather on my father's side, my Dadu was responsible for Ramayana. I used to ask him two questions again and again, why did Ravan steal Sita and why did Ram leave her. And I am so glad I read this book. Cause my answers were given. Simple language but amazing story. This one is a sure shot entertainer. Read this one if you wanna know a retelling that's not only acceptable but believable as well.
#QODT: What is your favorite mythological fiction novel?
Mythology is my first love. A few years back when I had first read Immortals of Meluha by Amish Tripathi, that's when my journey from a non-reader to becoming an avid reader began. Today I mostly read historical fiction, YA and Epic Fantasy novels, but my interest in mythology hadn't gone. I still search for new mythological fiction books to explore and read the already known Epic Ramayana and Mahabharata in a new way from a fresh perspective. That's how I came to Anurag Chandra's debut novel The Ramayana's Secret.

Review:
✍️The title is appropriate, but the cover could have been better.
✍️Like the introductory family tree of Kosala, Videha, Anga and Lanka kingdoms in the beginning.
✍️The writing style is smooth and the language used is very simple which is the only thing in the book helpful for me to complete.
✍️The characters are written flatly. There is no character development. The reason behind Rama's leaving Sita felt absurd.
✍️The narration is precise and to the point, but the content is directly copied down from the original Ramayana. There is nothing new about the story.
✍️The story is fast pacing but too much information in each chapter with minimum dialogues gives you the feeling of textbook reading.
✍️The concept of inner Earth (Agartha) & outer Earth & building up the Ramayana's story surrounding this new world is genuinely unique but lacks any depth & detail.
✍️There is no buildup suspense or mystery in the book. The secrecy that the book is talking about is known from the very beginning.
Overall for me, this book is dull and boring and lacks originality. Maybe being an Amish Tripathi's fan I was expecting too much, that's why I didn't like the book. However, if you are a beginner and wanted an easy read on Mythology, then do pick up this book.
If you have ever read Ramayan or watched this epic tale of love , loyalty and sacrifice on television . Get prepared to have a time of your life. The Ramayan Secret is retelling of the time tested tale of Ram and Sita with a twist . The author has done a remarkable job in writing the book . The way he has added the new concepts like inner and outer earth to this epic tale is noteworthy. The characterisation has been executed wonderfully and with much realism The writing is smooth and crisp . The language used is very rich and easy to understand . Overall ,it great book for all mythological lovers .
Guys I am not into #mythology that much , but thanks to the author @theramayanasecret for the book . I loved the book . This book had many things that was unknown to me , literally telling it uplifted my knowledge about #indianmythology a lot. The narration was good and lucid , easy to understand . I got a new perspective to look into #ramayan I loved the flowchart that was given in the first part of the book showing the family charts . I don't want to be a spoiler for you guys , I would rather suggest you to grab your copy and read it . You find it lot more interesting that the book appears . Even the title and the book cover is impressive . I finished this book in a single slot because of my curiosity . I just loved the book . It's highly recommend for all mythology book lovers. It's a must read for you guys .
So, ya the Secret behind the Ramayana. Well i guess we all know about "Sri Ram" and the story in Ramayan. Most of us have read or heard it from our grandparents and we all know the same story. But then what is this Secret of Ramayana. What is that one secret our grandparents never told us or do they even know about this . . THE RAMAYANA SECRET is a whole new perspective of The Rayaman we all know. So the book is full with mysteries. Just talking about it means giveing spoilers. But still let we talk about it a bit. So the author in the book tell the famous ramayan but in a new way. Where they said that The Lord Rama or Ram was born specialy for the task of killing Ravan and this was decided the peoples of Prithivi and Patal. For killing Ravan for the first time the people of Prithivi and Patal join hands.
My views- Ramayana is an epic, and reading it with different aspects is what makes mythology fun. THe book is a surprise to me. I never thought about reading Ramayana in around 200 pages. The introductory family tree is a picture clearer. The cover could have been better. The blurb was just enough. Taking about the plot, it is to the point, consize and clear. Shorter chapters are easier to read. Narration is lucid, and not a single word is out of context. The author's aspect of narrating the epic is extra ordinary. Some points i want to highlight which i loved- Kaikeyi's mention and her importance. Surpanakha and Ravana's view on Sita. Bharat's presence. Overall, the book is as powerful as Ramayana and a very fresh approach on mythology.
I loved this book. The author has beautifully recreated ramayana with a tag line that raises curiosity - " Rama's story, not as you know it but as it happened". That was enough for me to pick this book up. It's a fast paced book written in simple language. The author has incorporated the entire Ramayana in 200 pages without making you feel bored anywhere. Every part of the story fits well without leaving any loose ends. The book left me having a doubt that "is it really possible?", which in itself shows how well the book is written. I enjoyed the book and I am waiting for another book where he retells another part of Hindu History not as we know it but as it happend.
But the introduction of the book where author reveals the entire story of inner world in few pages made the story predictable. But despite that it was worth reading it and was a book that I enjoyed alot.
I rate this book four out of five star for a wonderful read and leaving me wanting for more.
Recommendation:
I recommend this book to everyone who is a mythology fan. This is a book that you dont want to miss on. It's fast and mesmerising. It's worth your time and money.
The ancient scripts that had been kept safe by many sages for a very long time is now in the wrong hands and it would destroy the harmony and peace of the inner and outer earth. People in inner earth are more advanced and are unknown to the people of the outer earth. Ravana, the king of Lanka, who is in possession of the script would soon try to conquer the inner and outer earth. In order to save the Earth from destruction and to maintain the peace, Rama is assigned a mission. A mission to stop Ravana and keep the script safe. But how will he succeed annd more importantly what was the real reason for the war between Rama And Ravana and why Ravana abducted Sita? This is Rama's story, not as you know it but as it happened.
Review :
The story is fast paced with an interesting Plot. Title and cover perfectly Blends well with the story. My Dadi used to tell me the stories of Rama and Sita and since then Ramayana has been my favorite. But there's something more in Ramayana than people know, Kudos to the author For writing this book and bringing in light the facts and truth aBout Ramayana. Characterization is done great with a superb narration. Story is written in a lucid language and all the mythology lovers would definitely enjoy this book. I took 7 hours to finish this book and I was amazed, it is very well written and the way author has described the inmer Earthwas beautiful.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (I am speechless after reading this one)
Behind the review:
I got this piece day before yesterday from Mr. Anurag Chandra, the author of this coolest and captivating work, The Ramayana Secret. The cover itself is so good, that I picked it up yesterday night and completed it in a go, giving an 8-hour read. I just can’t able to leave it as a leftover for the next morning as this book attracted me much. And it didn’t make me regret the sacrifice of my sleep. I RECOMMEND IT FOR A READ TO EVERYONE ✅.
Review ✍️:
Jumping into the review, Yes, It’s the same Ramayana, the epic, we were heard through our ancestors.
I thought it would be the same. But, from the first chapter itself, the book captivates us with the perfect narration it’s been, through the author. 😍😍Till the end page, our curiosity to know more just increases. The Ramayana Secret is Rama’s story, NOT AS WE KNOW IT BUT AS IT HAPPENED. ✌️Yes, we know the outer Earth, but the linkage of Inner Earth with this story, Paatala, we never knew! The story of Agartha, ever heard of? Never! 🔥 You can literally imagine the whole story rolling in front of your eyes while reading it. 🔥The narration about the beauty of Agartha, Fantabulous! I always used to envy Kaikeyi and few other characters for their deeds, as they were portrayed by our grandparents. This book has completely changed my view. I just respect each and every character and their role in building RamaRajya. 👏👏
It’s all about, how the alliance of outer and inner Earth’s saved humanity ☮️. Why is Rama’s real identity kept as a secret? Why exactly Rama fought with Ravana? Is it because of Sita? Do what we think of characters is exactly how they are? 🤔 All I could say is, whatever we are thinking and heard of is the story that was framed. This book will truly leave you astounded. 🤩
The narration is perfect and gripping with an easy vocabulary that one can catch up with the increasing pace of the story 👏👏. An 8-hour read, and this author became my favorite and most recommended out of all. ❤️❤️❤️
There are few authors who blow your mind with their first book itself. One of such books written by a debutante author, Anurag Chandra, which I completed reading this weekend is “The Ramayana Secret”. I generally write review of any book just after completing it but this one, unfortunately, I wrote after 7 days but still the book is afresh in my mind. In all these days since I completed it, I discussed its version of Ramayana with many of my friends and uncle-aunties and all of them are surprised and astonished with the version Author has based his Ramayana upon.
To start with, the cover page of the book, the synopsis mentioned in the backcover and the overall presentation and publishing quality is spectacular where the first fight to grab reader’s attention is won. Secondly, whenever there is a book with several characters and relationships among them, I always have to maintain a note separately where I keep on drawing the tree as per the hierarchy. This is one of the few books where I have been able to find a nicely drawn family tree with all the major characters of the book defined properly. This helped a lot in the initial chapters of the book where the characters keep on getting introduced.
I have read many books based on Ramayana but what I have liked basically about Anurag is his approach towards writing this book in the age of trilogy. Though the book can surely have its 2nd part but atleast the way whole Ramayana is covered in 220-odd pages is compliment-worthy. Also, the small chapters make it easy for you to go through the book in a single sitting without getting bored. The narration is very powerful and beholds you like any great book. The characterizations are done with very limited words hence there is not much investment author has done in this department but still manages to make some of the characters as your favorite such as Lakshmana, Vibhisana, Ravana’s son etc.
The many myths that author has tried to bust with his version of Ramayana is applaudable. The relationship of Sita and Ravana is the major one that will make this book a talking point. Then the concept of inner and outer world is nicely explained in the initial chapters. The background of Lord Rama’s ancestor regarding what they couldn’t do for inner world is nicely described. The whole segment of Surpanakha and why Ravana actually took Sita away to keep her as a hostage is again a new something in this book. Similarly, Kaikeyi and her role is mentioned quite differently.
There are few parts I would like to mention which made me interested in reading this book:- The way justice is made to Sage Gautam and Ahilya by Rama is nicely narrated. Rama’s advice to Bharat is one of the powerful segment in the book. I liked the way whole Lanka sequence is narrated regarding Ravana being egoistic and not listening to anyone in his family. How even his family had members who tried to stop him from doing wrong kept the war segment interesting. The Bali and Sugriva section is also narrated well. The whole Hanumana’s visit to Lanka’s section is beautifully written. The end of the book becomes very emotional with Sita leaving Rama and then Luv and Kush segment made me even more sentimental. The discussion on how the Ramayana got wrote in a different manner for the world gives this book the kind of ending it needed.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I wish Anurag Chandra come up with such short mythological and philosophical stuffs at least once in a year with a book. I give this one 4.5* out of 5.
I have always loved mytho. When I got this book I thought it might be the usual Ramayana story which I had heard, but I was prooved wrong. This book is written in a different style & format. The author says "Enjoy the version of Ramayana, Not as you know it but as it happened". He was absolutely right. I throughout enjoyed the book reading it as much as he might have enjoyed writing it. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Ravana has jeopardised the peaceful co-existence of the inner and outer earths. The divine scripts are in his custody and the demon king is invincible. Rama is tasked with the secret mission of securing the scripts and handing them back to their rightful owners. Assuming the identity of dasharatha’s son, Rama prepares for battle, aided by emissaries from the inner Earth kingdom of agartha and sages residing in Dandaka. Will this alliance between the kingdoms of agartha and kosala save humanity from an impendingdisaster? Why is Rama’s real identity kept a secret? Who has decided to reveal the secret about Rama’s origins and why? Was Sita the real reason Rama fought against Ravana? 💥💥💥 Few things I really liked - 1) The Map in the very first page shows only the characters present in the book, which helps in avoiding confusion. As one could relate it from the map. 2) The lines in page 113, You cannot give me back something that is already mine. You had come over to take my kingdom. 3) The message written in page 179 shows how proud agartha was about his son. The message is emotional and motivating also. 4) Lines in page 180, "Knowledge is a treasure worth sharing. Restricting it to a particular Varna is unjustified. Overall, there are various teachings and lessons which you would be unaware of. I recommend this book to everyone. The writing is clean, Narration is crisp & clear. ❤️❤️
♦️ BOOK REVIEW ♦️ . "There is no denying the fact that WAR brings destructions." .
♦️ MY REVIEW: . 👉 COVER: Average, could be more interesting 👉 TITLE: Simple 👉 LANGUAGE: Average 👉 CHARACTERS: Strong 👉 PLOT: Interesting 👉 STORY: Catchy . ♦️ OVERALL: Who doesn't know the story of Ramayana. I, grew up listening the story of Rama and Ravana from my Grandpa. I actually enjoyed reading the book with a completely different way. The author had done a great work in this book. I'm not at all a mythology person. I choose this book because it's ramayana and Ramayana is always interesting for me. Ramayana is epic and the author had covered this epic in just 200 pages. Appreciations to the author for this amazing work. . The story is just perfect with an amazing narration. The plot is the same as we know but there are many additions which has made this book different and more interesting. The story was gripping and I was hooked till the end. The language was not completely easy (for me). Book was great. The book starts with a family tree which was very helpful to understand the other and inner earth concept. Everything is very well explained. IF YOU ARE A MYTHOLOGY LOVER, THEN THIS ONE IS FOR YOU... . ♦️ MY RATINGS: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
It's been two days since I finished reading this book yet it refuses to go out of my mind. I just can't stop appreciating it for the fact that it is no retelling of the same story, instead is a completely fresh story, something which we never read or heard of. The book stands true to its blurb which says The Ramayana Secret is Rama's story, not as you know it but as it happened.
The book starts with a highly imaginative plot where King Rituparna chases a magical deer which subsequently takes him to the Inner Earth. Plot construction is just beyond someone's imagination. The sequence of events right from explaining the existence of two worlds: Inner and Outer Earth, to the establishment of Lanka and later arrival of Lord Rama is fabulous.
The best part of the book is that it gives an alternative and a better way of looking at the story of Ramayana. It explains much reasonably as to how kidnapping of Sita was not the sole purpose of Rama fighting Ravana, instead he has another bigger hidden reason for it.
I'd be highly recommending this book not only mythology loving people but to everyone out there, who by any means, ever heard the stories of Ramayana. This is one of those rare books which one must read.
🎯Ramayana Secret🎯 Author:Anurag Chandra Publication: Om Books International Page :213 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 ♠Background The book is "Retelling" of Ramayan with more "logical" outcome Whenever i read different versions of ramayan though i know "Good destoys evil" but their are certain question which always popped up... Like 🍃Why was dashrat choose to have devine child??? 🍃How was wise kuber brought down the throne??? 🍃Where the powerful weapons describe real?? 🍃Where did lord parshuram go??? 🍃Where two aavatars of lord vishnu existed on earth at same time?? 🍃Why did kaikiye send her beloved son on exiled?just for dashrat throne?? 🍃Was sita the real reason behind ramayan??or just a cospiracy to cover the real reason from humans?
This retelling has answers to all this question😊 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 Review ↪this version of "Ramaayan" makes u feel more logical playing than most heard version in your mind ↪the narration is good , direct and too quick that makes it friendly for non mytholgical fans too ↪i would have enjoyed deep narration in same version but still the book is entertaining and wise at the same time ↪the book is 4.5⭐/5 ↪i didnt like the cover soo much 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸
The Ramayana Secret Author - Anurag Chandra Length - 216 Publisher - Om Books Recommended - definitely Rating 4 ⭐/5
📎Ramayana meets sci-fi - This is a good quirky & entertaining reimagining of the epic Ramayana,
Blurb - There are two types of civilizations dwelling the earth one on the outer layer that is naive and not much in touch with the earth and the other more advanced one indwelling the inner earth ,which is more advanced and have much longer life span
📎The outer layer civilization is not aware of the later but they help to maintain the harmony there also . 📎So when Ravana capture the kingdom of Lanka and along with it the powerful ancient scriptures,he is threatening the the harmony and peace of the beings . 📎During these hours of need Rama an inner earth warrior is given the task to fix things up .📎What I liked ? Entertaining reimagining and the creativity of the book overall Author has tried to give all the characters some justice and tried to show them in a new light . 📎What could have been better? Cover It's a plot based book but a little more character development would definitely help
This book is WOW! It is just a 200-pages read, yet it has all the detailed information about the Ramayana. This book comes as a fresh breeze to me as it is higher than just retelling of mythology. My perception of the Ramayana has been changed by this book. A new perceptive is given by the author through the book. And there are so many twists and turns to keep you engaged. I have to appreciate the author for telling the Ramayana from altogether a different angle. The characterization is impressive. I loved the plot. The plot is unique, engaging and innovative. There are many shockers for the readers, which keeps them engaged with the story. I would like to appreciate the length of the book. It is just a 200 pages book yet it has more than enough to give to the readers. I liked the cover a lot. The title of the book is apt and interesting. The language used in the book is simple and good. A rich vocabulary is used. The narration is very powerful. The relationship between Ravana and Sita is an interesting part of the story. The characterization of Lakshmana and Ravana’s son is also impressive. This book kept me engaged until the end. I was hooked. A good one for the mythology buffs. I recommend it.
Anurag Chandra’s book takes you to the journey of Ramayana in a slightly different manner. The Ramayana Secret is Rama’s Story, not as everyone know. Rama, who was on his task to secure the most powerful scripture from the Ravana. I received the book near Vijayadashami and what can be a better read than this book when Diwali is just coming.
Though it is mythology, each character teaches a different lesson for the life. Crossing the ocean reflects nothing is impossible and the end of Ravana reflects that evil can never be eternal. Vibhishana teaches that even in the negative surrounding, one should not loose his own wisdom. I picked the book because the title and description itself was catchy and now after the reading of the book, I don’t have any regrets. The other things I liked about the book apart from the story were-
1. Story plot was simple and pleasant. 2. Language of the book was easy and comfortable. 3. Narration style of the author was fabulous. 4. Cover of the book matches with plot and is eye pleasant. 5. Title of book is apt for the story line. 6. Characters exhibition was better than average. 7. Family tree for Rama and Ravana was very useful and appreciable. 8. Book stands for quality and was worth of money spent on it.
Overall the book was a good read and I highly recommend this for mythological lovers.

Perspectives make a lot of difference on how we contemplate any event or a story. Often, what we see is just one side of the story, right?
The Ramayana Secret by Anurag Chandra is afresh retelling of the epic. In his story, Anurag has taken the concept that there exist 2 civilizations on the earth, one on the outer surface and another inside the Earth, called the Agartha. The civilization in Agartha is very well developed as compared to the one on the outer Earth by virtue of their longer existence. Originating from the same ancestors, Agartha uses emissaries to communicate with the outer Earth and provides them with knowledge so that society can progress. As the advanced civilization, they are the guardians of the knowledge of the Gods and many other advanced technologies that are revealed only to the people who have achieved the highest order of spiritual awakening to avoid them falling into the wrong hands. For years, the two civilizations had a peaceful co-existence until Ravana comes along and the divine scripts come into his custody by happenstance. Rama is then tasked with the mission to retrieve the scripts and bring it to the rightful owners. What happens next, forms the plot of the book. The Ramayana Secret is Rama’s story, not as we know it, but as it happened.
The plot of the book is very good, and it moves with a comfortable pace with emphasis on the points at the right places. Anurag has created an extremely detailed story with the details picked from the original epic but adding the right condiments into it to provide a feasible alternative plot line. He has aligned the presence of all the major events of the epic into this plotline with a plausible back story. Be it the story of Ahalya or the story of Shabari, each of them has been dealt with in proper accuracy. The description of the Inner Earth is fairly detailed and helps create a picture of how it might look had it existed. The story of the rise of Ravana, Rama’s swayamvara with Sita, the crossing of the ocean and the origins of Hanuman are some of the highlights that stood out for me.
Talking about the characters, the prominent characters have been given a proper backstory that fits in with the plot. There are no chinks that can be identified, and sufficient clues are provided to create a distinct persona of each of the characters. The thing that caught my attention, though, was the epiphany of Ravana towards the end of the plot and I would like to specially mention this as it shows how well the author has delved into the human psyche.
In the quest to retrieve the divine scripts, the author has convinced me to handover 4/5 scripts that I have.
Mythology has always been my favourite whether it's a re-telling or re-imagination I stay immersed into it, no matter how well versed I am with it, my hunger to gather more about the epics and the characters in it never seems to satiate, from every single book I read I gathered something or the other and it's same in case of this book too. . . 'The Ramayan Secret' is basically a retelling with many alterations, and those alterations will make you rethink the reason behind various events in the epic Ramayana. It talks about a divine script which is in Ravana's custody and Rama is tasked with the secret mission of securing the scroll and handling back to their rightful owner. . . The epic Ramayana with a twist in it is really engaging to read, and the author has penned it wonderfully. The writing is easy and lucid, also very informative because it brings out the very depth and several unknown tales. . . All in all, a great read
It's definitely a historical as well as mythological book. This book depicts the actual and real story behind the emerging of Ramayana. The story shows the relation and contrast of the inner and outer earth region. The powers, strength, patience, wisdom, virtue, truthfulness and all other goodness is what you need to develop and win against anyone in this world is very well characterized here. The whole idea of Ramayana will change after reading this one. You will develop another new perspective of the Story, where you will get to learn many new relationships which are still unknown to many of you.
Here's the main theme was to raise war against the evil Ravan, to stop him to destroy and overpowering the whole world. And for this noble cause Rama was choosen to fight against him and was sent to the outer earth in the form of the eldest son of Dasharatha, by the outer earth guardian Agartha. And Sita his wife who is known as the daughter of Janak turns out to be an abandon daughter of Ravan himself. All this twists and turns, before and after effect of the war will shock you about your previous knowledge of the story. Should definitely read to better understanding and the truth behind the Ramayana Secret. The language is pretty easy to understand.
Mythology is one of my favourite genre and I really love to read retellings of mythology with a dosage of fiction in it. I really loved the way the author has developed a different story without losing the essence of the great epic Ramayan. Even though all the important scenarios were described perfectly, the chain of events that has lead to those scenarios were depicted in a completely different way.The writing was simple and lucid. At certain places, I had felt like the author was unnecessarily including stories which was not related to Ramayan. Anyway, it was really interesting to read the various turn of events in the story. Overall it was an interesting read I would recommend this book to everyone who loves to read mythological fiction.
Book Title: The Ramayana Secret Author: Anurag Chandra Publisher: Om Books International Language: English Genre: Mythological Fiction Rating: 5/5 . . . . My Review: The epic story of the Ramayana is always an engaging read. And, what is more engaging is the fact that the same story has been narrated in a much more logical manner. The story of Ramayana has been better explained in this book and the psychology of characters can be comprehended in a better way. To truly analyse what you've missed out in the unabridged epic, give this trendy book a read. . . . #starwordsindia #star #fluid #book #books #bookreview #bookstagram #bookshelves #bookclub #nonfiction #philosophy #thoughts #picoftheday #photooftheday #authorsofinstagram #author
The Ramayana Secret by Anurag Chandra is an insightful and interesting book but has a slightly different plot from the original epic Ramayana.
Nowadays it's a fashion to write stories based on mythological characters and stories and was thinking this is one such book when I read the title and blurb but was proved wrong. As most of us know the plot will skip that part. This book is a complete new version of Ramayana and it has its own reasons for war between Rama and Ravana, own reasons for Ravana to abduct Sita and many such news so read the book to know all the reasons for yourself. It has lot of insightful information about Rama's ancestors, Ravana's ancestors, many leanings also as the original epic.
Narration is good that readers get engrossed into the plot from the very first page, language used is simple and so easy to follow. Though we know the story never felt like skipping any part of the book and finished the book in one sitting.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and would recommend it to all fiction lovers.
"𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵. " . The Ramayana secret is the epic of Ramayana retold in a very, very different way than that of which we are fed by our traditional sources. Now, the book is about 300 pages long. You must be wondering how come such a long story as Ramayana was told in just 300 pages, well, that brings me to the first and most likeable thing about this book. It's fast paced, like really fast. No unnecessary exploration of emotions or useless descriptions were included in the narrative, the balance was maintained without making it dragging. Yet, the narrative was a little bland which I think can be improved with practice. I'd like to appreciate the amount of imagination put into this story in orde to make it come alive. To rethink a centuries old stories and paint it in such a different light was remarkable. The characterisation were mostly kept the same with a little changes in some minor characters, just greatness of the characters were explained in a way that our traditional scripts don't. Overall, it was a good read except for the fact that the narrative could have been a little more fluent.
After such a long time I read something which is related to religion and everyone in India knows the story Ramayana but this one is quite a bit different with some new elements in it . This book gives different meaning to every incident that took place like sita' s kidnapping. Also here we got to know the background story of Ram and Ravan . The cover of this is very mystical and it fully suited it . Narration is good and language is simple . Being only 200 page book , it gives a great deal of information with new perspective and this book is truly a page Turner and fast read .
Book : The Ramayana Secret Author : Anurag Chandra Publisher : Om Books Genre : Mythological Fiction 📜 Stop reading whatever you are reading and pick this book which retells the epic you've known until now. Each person in this country grows up by listening, reading or watching "Ramayana" - one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India also the largest ancient epic in world literature. This book gives you a new perspective towards the way you've discerned the epic. After reading this book I was quite overwhelmed that I took a plenty of time to perceive what I've read. The story connects 1. Outer Earth - on where we are living and 2. Inner Earth - "Agartha" also known by many as Paatala. 📜 Was Rama really the seventh avatar of Vishnu as we all believe or was he something else? Why do you think the Vanaras as mentioned in the Ramayana had supernatural abilities? Was Sita the reason of war between Rama and Ravana or it also has another explanation? 📜 Review : Mythology is my most favourite genre and my views on this book are obviously compared to all the books I've read before. This book surpasses them all in a way the story is told. 📜 The cover is splendid and the title is exemplary. The book is really a surprise as it's definitely more engrossing than it appears. Narration is strong and language is quite eloquent. I loved the flowchart like family tree of both Rama and Ravana presented in the beginning of the book. The concept of inner and outer world is explained lucidly like never before. After some googling I came to know that inner earth - Agartha also has many references in French occultism and Tibetan Buddhism. 📜 I've also found Rama's conversations with other characters as more wiser and spiritual than the original epic. Also in this story I very much admire the portrayal of other underrated characters of the original epic as a crucial ones and vice versa. Reader will definitely love every characters of Ramayana after reading this book. Author has done solid work to cover the whole story perfectly in around 200 pages. 📜 It's a book you don't want to miss reading. 📜
