Name of the book: Lost, Found, Forgotten Author: Sourav Das
LOST FOUND FORGOTTEN is an amalgamation of three parallel stories with three female central characters of Chitra in Mumbai, Dana in Paris and Alicia in New York. Although, the central characters were from geographically diverse settings, and from different strata of society, yet there was commonality in the pain, hurt, offence, transgression of their individualistic rights and sufferings they faced due to wrong persons mainly the men in their respective lives. The story telling and narration was distinctive with the parallel stories running chapter wise in parallel mode and progressing toward the final conclusion/outcome. The parallel stories reflected the pains and ordeals of the central characters and the difficult situations they had to encounter and how they acted or reacted in that particular situation is the quintessence of the book. The problems faced by each central character was different from the other character of the other two stories and local to the geographical setting but all the three stories underlined the universality of subjugation, submission, suppression and sorrow faced by a woman. The Narrative was unique, intriguing and novel. As a reader I found the narration very gripping and finished the entire book in a single session! However, the author tried to interlink all the three stories in the last part of the book which was not very convincing and appealing to me. Individually each story was exuberant but in my opinion the interlinking was not necessary and if not done, it would have still not made much of a difference since each story was powerful on its own. Overall, the book is engrossing, storytelling is unique and novel and the narration is the best asset of the book. I am thankful to MY SECRET BOOKSHELF and #teammysecretbookshelf who recommended this book for me to read.
#Do you have t in you? Book name:-Lost Found Forgotten Author name:-Sourav das Cover rating:-4/5 Content rating:-4.2/5
Lost found forgotten is an inspirational story about three females and their extraordinary voyages.
My take:- I liked the cover page as some famous places in our nation have been reflected in the topmost part. The middle portion looks like a visual of an esoteric Netflix series. The bottom section is bifurcated into two parts:- First part is showing Paris and another one is giving a glimpse of the United States of America.
1). Chitra:- A makeup artist in Mumbai,a casualty of domestic atrocity who is in a relentless search of freedom. Description of this specific character cracked the code, as it is so beautifully portrayed by the author. I loved the way Chitra audaciously took a stand and faced every hurdle in her way and eventually succeeded in getting all odds in her favor. This never give up temperament is worth praising.
2).Dana: -A tenacious art student at a university in Paris who fought a dreadful disease. Dana's character is a true inspiration because we all face hardships and start bleeding over trivial issues. but, life is much bigger than we think. Her brave voyage is a categorical example of this quote. This character is also well defined and I liked that part which talks about how she found true love when she was on her deathbed and hoping for everything to fall into place.
3). Alicia:- A pretty actress in new York who dreams of ruling the world got stuck when cheated by her fiancée. This jolted her from inside because she was not expecting any such unfortunate incident to happen in her life. But we never know the plans of nature for us, but despite this brutal emotional force pulling her in the backward direction she did not give up and stood firm with courage.
So, overall this amalgamation is quite interesting but somewhere it is flat and off-topic.Somethings are unnecessarily stretched. Still, the narration is good with a nice touch of character explanation. Would like to recommend to those who are interested in inspirational tales. I would rate this book a 4 on the scale of 5.
Stunned by how the author has come up with a very good plot connecting three women protagonists together, names respectively Chitra, Dana & Alicia. 'Lost Found Forgotten' has an immensely good storyline where we can see an ambitious married woman & a make up artist in Mumbai, Chitra, being a prey of domestic violence gathers courage to implement her dream by flying over to the USA to work on a movie project; then Dana, a cancer sufferer gets cheated in her relationship finds her true love, Jack (another sufferer) on her deathbed in Paris & at last ends on portraying the life of a hollywood actress Alicia of New York, also cheated by her fiance, calls off her marriage with the help of her ardent fan Richard & reaches to Los Angeles for working on her next movie. Coincidentally the movie project brings an amalgamation of these three where Chitra gets to work with Alicia, found to be reading a romantic novel based on the story of Dana & Jack. I found the book very much enticing & gripping. Narration was very much understandable. Preciously woven. Title was good and cover was eye-catching.
A very unique and unconventional piece of work we have here. It's three stories or novels in one book. And the beginning of the book is also the final scene. The narrative effortlessly moves on from the final scene to the start, to the interludes , to the culmination which was already visited upon in the beginning. And finally, the three parallel narratives coalesce into one story in the end. Interesting and unique piece. The dialogues were the highlights of the book according to me.
The title is a perfect description for the novel. It depicts the three stages present in all the three stories of the book. The first word "LOST" specifies the loss of something (believed) important in a person's life(in all the three stories something is lost), second word "FOUND" it specifies the event of finding an opportunity or a truth(in all the three stories either of these happen), and third word "FORGOTTEN", it specifies the moved on phase of the protagonists of the stories where they let go of their past and look towards the future. I really liked the Epilogue, a subtle one.
Its a must read novel. I really enjoyed the journey of Dana , Alicia and Chitra. The story of these three characters will keep you engaged and will create an urge to know what's next is coming to their path. The author portrayed the journey of these three characters beautifully and with lot of curiosity for the reader to know the next. Especially the climax really surprises you in a good way and it ends up with a big smile on your face...😊
The encounter of events by three beings in their own way
The story begins with three different events in three different places. The three characters Dana, Alicia and Chitra are highly cultivated to a distinct phase such that all their stories run parallel and finally the two of the stories are weaved. The title of the story implies that three words lost, found and forgotten were experienced in the life of all three main characters of the parallel stories of the book. The pain and ordeal of Dana losing her boyfriend, and finding a new pal and eventually ending up her life unfortunately and to be forgotten by Dr.Augustein in his memories later on. Alicia by finding out the truth and to or break with her partner and to kick start to shed off the past. And Chitra drifting apart from her untrustworthy husband to aspire her dream, finding a new opportunity to bypass her unpleasant past. Thus all the characters experienced the three words lost, found, forgotten in their phases of life. Maybe the titles are apt in this regard. One of the best to be pointed out here is the narrative style, despite being three parallel run tales, the author never compromised in detailing and was so intense that it kept was glued until the end. The two characters whose stories run differently brought up into one chord at the end is what highlights. The cover page also hints about the characters and the stories.
Three Different lives somehow connected with each other
Lost Found Forgotten is a story...no no no...it's about the lives of three different ladies who were troubled by their loved ones. To start with Alicia, an actress and Chitra, Alicia's makeup artist and then Dana, a simple girl who is suffering with brain tumor. Thats all I am not going to reveal anything other than this because every single detail I would mention would giveaway the suspense that you are going to experience and I dont want to spoil the surprises.
The cover absolutely depicts the plot as it has three ladies and their lives. To add to that the places are also depicted where the story goes on. Coming to the title, lost and found fit in but forgotten is something I couldn't understand as of how it is related to the plot. Inspite of few gramattical mistakes, the reason behind giving it a 5 star is the plot which is the soul of this story and the author who is totally successful in creating the interest all through the story.
Though the beginning was a bit confusing as the story shifts between New York and Mumbai but then at the right moment the author connected the dots well answering all the questions.
Overall, an interesting read and I would recommend it to all the fictional lovers to get a nail biting experience.
Lost found Forgotten These three words are themselves the reflection of the foundation of the stories. The book is about the life of three women Lost Chitra, a makeup artist and victim of domestic violence with a dream of freedom glittering in eyes Found Dana, a university art student, fighting cancer and finds true love in her deathbed Forgotten Alicia, an actress who gets cheated by her fiancee The stories are very natural and well carved in terms of storytelling. The story is very promising and the foundation is very strong and holds a base to many stories. but I felt that true potential was not reached. Somewhere in terms of narration or composition, I feel the suppressing factor not allowing the story or the feeling to reach their true depth. The three different plots and situations are good as an individual ut would have done wonderfully well if had more clear contrast or interrelationship. The characters are natural and their development is really a matter of appreciation, the emotions are very human and reflect contemporary thinking to a great extent. Overall it is a decent short read.
Central Idea: The plot of this book is developed on the idea of connections of the characters in weird but hard situations and then complete the circle with a bang. The characters Chitra, Alicia and Dana are the protagonists who faces hardships in a relatively varied circumstances and land up with a wonderful relation in the epilogue.
My Take: The book is definitely a page turner and the reader cannot put it down if involved. It is a short but crisp read leaving the reader awe stuck. I took this book with an uninvolved sense but this tale proved me wrong. The book is recommended for those who prefer light, short and mystic read. Critique: The author has tried a unique writing style to create mysterious ways for intimacy with the book but some of the grammatical concepts did not turn up as such. Other than that, creativity is definitely the undeterred force of the book except for the fact that the plot is a bit repetitive in nature but effective in gripping the reader. The ending is yet dramatic but again, it is fiction that lets you escape from reality.
The book runs as 3 parallel stories progresses and collide at the end. To begin with, the cover is chosen well which signifies a bit about where the stories are set and the characters. The book begins with an important event from each of the story, without giving away too much but still managing to grab the readers interest. The parallel narration has been carried out very well by the author, with just the right amount of information. Because any dragging in the parallel narratives would have made the readers interest slim. All the stories talks about general problems that women go through in a relationship. The realistic portrayal is what helped the story flow effortlessly. The usage of dialogues maintained the casual vibe of the story. The title would make sense as the story ends. This is such a light yet very intriguing read. Highly recommended to any kind of reader. I would give this a 4.5/5.

I applaud to author because its very hard to narrate three stories simultaneously but he do it in appreciating way.
This book is a eye opener it shows the world what difficulties, submission, sorrow and pain faced by a women.
You will engaged in this book and finish in one sitting like me. Language used by author is very easy and lucid so that everyone can enjoy it
This is the Story of 3 different Womens, Chitra, a makeup artist and victim of domestic violence with a dream of freedom glittering in eyes Found Dana, a university art student, fighting cancer and finds true love in her deathbed Forgotten Alicia, an actress who gets cheated by her fiancee The stories are very natural and well carved in terms of storytelling. This is story of 3 parallel lives, then they crossed their paths in the End. The parallel narration has been carried out very well by the author, with just the right amount of information. Because any dragging in the parallel narratives would have made the readers interest slim. Author beautifully discribed the three plots in a Single book, Character are Natural and their devlopment is really amazing. Decent Short Read.
The story of lost found and forgotten is a in-depth story of women. This is very well written by the author as these stories revolve around the motivation factor. It makes us feel that after a night there is a day too. I really liked the concept which the author has chosen to bring out the best in his narration. There is a greater deal in writing about what you think. I liked that the book can be easily finished in no span of time which brings us to the point that we can use these stories as play for schools. There is a second part In the book which grabbed my attention was that the Story was fast pace. I would recommend to all.
This book is about lives of 3 different ladies. Chitra, Dana, Alicia. All three ladies are from different jobs. Chitra, a make up artist and and victim of domestic violence with a dream of freedom glittering in eyes Dana, An art student, who is fighting with cancer, and finds love in that. Alicia, An actress who gets cheated by her fiancee. the characters are well explained. they have 3 different lives. This is like few tollywood movies, all 3 parallel lives cross their paths in the end. all the movies which i saw was with parellel lives met at last were hit movies and same follows with this. great book, the cover says what is in the book the title was apt to the story.
This book is about three stories from there different parts in the world Mumbai, Paris and New York; the surprising factor is that all the stories begin with Stop.! The book narrates tale of three women Cuts Chitra, Dana and Alicia. One of the characters find their true love, the other is on way to begin her lovely marriage with her the love of her life and the other is struggling to find freedom from her abusive marriage. I appreciate the author for portraying different stages of love in a simple language that gifts the reader a sweet reason to smile.
While this book was compiled of three stories in three very different settings, Chitra, Alicia, and Dana were all victimized by something very familiar... A man. This collection of stories were very relatable and overall a great read. Great job author, I can't wait to see what's next! 👍🏾👍🏾
This story parallely revolves around Chitra,Shana,Alicia Three women who were in different places. Their communality is their suffering. Even though the stories are running parallel, the author langue helped me not to get confused. Story writing is amazing . The story was deep and too interesting. When I finished reading this,I wished that this story would have been even more.
At first I expected it to be a thriller, then slowly the Genre changed as the reading progressed(not in a bad way) and I also expected it to be a fast paced but it's not that much of a fast paced one,it is a story of three women who are entirely different. They don't have any clichèd connections. Each of their stories were deep.Even though it's a short read,it was definitely a heavy read for me.
Lost Found Forgotten is certainly an interesting read! The author has done a magnificent job creating three separate stories each expressing a different view yet have a common theme. What drew me most to the work was the three narrative that smoothly merge into one story. This is a must read!
The book has picturised three different stories of women from three different parts of the world savouring the different tastes of their love life and choices. The story begins at the end and that's what makes it more interesting. Three stories run in parallel to each other making it a good read.
