The story follows Eshita who is married to Arjun and has an eight-year-old kid named Harshit. Every thing was as perfect as it could be until a series of incidents shook her world. Right from the beginning we are made aware that there were secrets that was gradually making it's way into their lives breaking them.

Soon Eshita's life which was a fairytale is wrecked and ultimately she makes a difficult decision. How will it affect them as a family? Is she brave enough to take the next step?

If you love a person with all your heart then the term 'cheating' should NEVER EVER cross your mind no matter how tempting it appears it never ends well. And never regard it as some hopeless excuse to justify your actions.

Among the cast of characters, I loved Ruhi's character the most. She was Eshita's best buddy and just an amazing person.

A hiccup in love is the second novel that I have read from this author and I must say her writing style is creative and impressive at the same time. She weaves a story with a captivating potential to hold the readers attention til the very end. The narration is fast paced and doesn't lag in brewing a page turner. I would totally recommend this.

Name of the book - A HICCUP IN LOVE by Nivedita Vedurla.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
No love story is picture-perfect.
They have their own ups and downs and their very own version of happily ever after.
I love rom-coms and love stories cause they give you something to fight for. To battle it out in the worst case scenario where you are the underdog and still come out as a champion. Here I would like to mention one single fact, that the end result or goal is different for everyone. So the next time a friend says they did something in their relationship that you don't like, spare them the judgement and try to lend them an ear.
Coming back to the book, it was a very Mills and Boons kinda read, which everyone knows is my favorite kind of read and this brings back fond memories.
Love the book, trust me you really want to add this one to your TBR list.

This was an easy, breezy yet a laborious read for me.
The story is full of love/romance drama.
This is the story of Eshita, her married life and those few people who support her no matter what.
The main theme is infidelity, how couples deal with it and how it affects their lives.
It was a love marriage for Eshita and Arjun.
Rejecting the love of her classmate Surya and trusting her mother & her best friend, Ruhi, she went on to marry the guy of her dreams. But she never thought Arjun would cheat on her ever.
Building up a company from scratches, sacrificing her career and taking care of their son, Harshit, full time, she found no hope when she found out when her husband was cheating on her.
But things work out after lots of hurdles. Thanks to the special efforts of their kid, Harshit and their trusted colleagues and friends.
*What I loved about this book:
Eshita discovering her creative side and making it big on her own.

Loved reading this one.
However, things get repetitive in between.
And some romance scenes kept dragging which hindered the flow of the story.

A very realistic and intriguing read. This book revolves around love, marriage, infidelity, divorce, and mental health. I personally feel this is one of those topics which should be discussed more. And the author had does a wonderful job in conveying all these in a very simple way.

The story revolves around Eshita. We get a glimpse of her childhood, her father and how the loss of her father change her. Then we move towards the main part of the story where she gets married. Arjun was the man of her dreams but she had never thought that he would ever cheat on her. After marriage, Eshita sacrifices her own career and helps her husband built their company and takes care of their son. But life has more for her. Soon she finds out that her husband is cheating on her. She is devastated and heartbroken but at the same time she knows that she is strong and independent. How she pulls herself together and takes the further decisions about their marriage and her life is worth reading. Such situations in life usually put you through a very rough patch specially mentally and emotionally. It felt good to see that Eshita had support of friends and family and her son which helped her overcome this phase. Do grab your copy to know more about the story.

The narrations are gripping and engaging. The story has a good flow though I found it a bit slow at times. The characters are well built specially that of the protagonist Eshita.

The title of the book is apt but I think the cover should have been something which portrays the protagonist to be an independent woman.

Overall it's a simple and easy breezy read but lengthy.

Happy reading!

Book Review by LITEROMA PUBLISHING SERVICES :: "A Hiccup in Love" by Nivedita Vedurla

** Thanks to the author for sharing a Kindle copy of the book for review.**

** Thanks to our reviewer for reviewing the book on behalf of Literoma. **

Bookshelves are incomplete without romance genre on the racks. Even being one of the oldest forms of fiction, it still has a charm of its own. "A Hiccup in Love" by Nivedita Vedurla is a wonderful novel for all age groups, though I will personally recommend it for matured readers who have gone through the marietal ups and downs in life to better appreciate the contents of the book.

The story majorly revolves around the life of Eshita, her soul mate, her husband and their son with a twist in her husband's character. The tough psychological situations, conflicts with parents, moments of dilemma, choosing between love and arranged marriage, dubious character traits, infidelity, mental stress if you have dependents (especially kids) are such feelings which are more relatable to readers who have crossed the hiccup of marriage in life. Teenagers might not find it that engrossing beyond a certain point of conflict in Eshita and Surya's love life. But the climax, rise and fall of central characters, double standings of leads, tension scenarios and the role of children in boosting morale of their parents have been superbly portrayed by the author. The novel scores well in storytelling too with a free flowing style of narration.

Literoma likes to rate the novel as 4*/5* and recommend it for all but not minors.

A Hiccup in Love by Nivedita Vedurla might not be something out of the box or a unique story, but it sure talks about some common yet terrible crisis people go through.
.
.
.
Marriage, motherhood, starting up a new venture, giving up on career to take care of family, identity crisis, ups and downs of life, infidelity, divorce and what not !
These might not seem huge, written here in my post, but boy, they bring gigantic twists and turns to the person's life who goes through any of these.
.
.
.
Our protagonist Eshita had a picture perfect life. Got married to her college lover Arjun, both struggled and succeeded in their new venture of a financial start-up, had a wonderful baby boy Harshit, earned money, got a beautiful house and happy family.
But was everything as great as it looked ?
.
.
.
It was great when Eshita took charge of her life, went ahead and dared to achieve her dream, take care of her family and still work from her was something I appreciated a lot. The impact of infidelity on your partner is harder than you can ever imagine. It's even terrible when you're a family, have a kid together. The betrayal, the emotional trauma, a child's dilemma watching his parents and his life falling apart, was very well portrayed in the book, I really liked the writing style and narration. The characters were just great. But a lot of scenes felt quite dragged. Even though the message in the book was nice, it was quite predictable and ordinary. It was a one time read for me.

Hiccup in love - The title is aptly selected as it best complements the story’s plot.
The protagonist, Eshita settles in life, at quite a young age. At that age when fellow teenagers are busy exploring the various colours of life, light and Dark, soft and hard, bright and dull, gulping it all in, sometimes learning from their experiences and sometimes just letting it go. Nevertheless, Eshita was happy with her settled life until the day she found out about her husband cheating on her with his colleague, Pari.
The author has beautifully portrayed various scenes related to marriage drama, loyalty, infidelity, divorce, counselling etc

After filing a divorce, the couple is supposed to live together for another 6 months as per the protocol. Now what happens in that duration, do they sort it out? Does Arjun, Eshita’s husband regret his act and own up to his mistakes or does he choose to leave a Eshita for Pari? What role does their son, Harshit play in the whole act? Read the story to find out!

The book was a light dramatic read for me, the plot is highly predictable which at times, spoilt my expectations from the book. The narration was good and words used were sophisticated without any errors. Sometimes, the story felt quite stretched. Also the cover wasn’t complementing the story as much! Which was another drawback.

"A Hiccup in love" is a story of two college time sweet hearts who made it through their initial years of struggle and ended up together for life. However, the real life starts when after getting married they have a son and from that point onwards their live life takes a back seat while the love for their son is the only thing that's important. They go through life for almost 8 years and then comes a turning point in their relationship as husband and wife. Plot from here on is quite standard, the guy cheats and wife finds out, though she avoids the truth for some time and ends up dealing with the other women later on. The love they presumed they had is suddenly facing the test of time and someone gives up. Rest is something you will find out when you read the book 😁.
I liked how the author has tried to make realistic dreams a part of the storyline. Also, the writing style is quite good as language and events are something that every reader can follow easily.
I would have loved to see some more complexity though, in terms of events or character development, hence the less rating.
It was a good one sitting read for me. It's definitely an entertaining story and worth one time read. For those who love "love stories" this is a good book. Please do try.

A hiccup in love by nivedita vedurla is a beautiful book which portrays a love story with infidelity, reconciliation, misunderstandings and many things.

Story starts with Eshita discovering about Arjun, her husband, cheating on her with his colleague Pari. After a lot of mental stress and pressure she decides to confront him. This led to filing of divorce where they came to know about legal procedure regarding 6 month stay and counselling.

While living together what happened between them and what role did their son play? To know this, you'll have to read the book

I really loved the story and narration. Though predictable, it was sweet and gripping. Narrative was easy to understand. Some parts were unnecessarily stretched out. Plot was ordinary but the narrative made it interesting.

The title aptly suits the story as it was a hiccup in both protagonist's love. And the cover was sweet and adorable, though it could have been better.

A hiccup in love is a modern day story which shows the present day picture quite evidently. The book revolves around Eshita who is married to Sumit and has a eight years old son, Harshit. She has a weird dream which affects her in real life and that's where the story starts. Ritu is her best friend and they both often meet at a coffee shop and discuss life and its problems.

The book has an interesting storyline which cover topics like love, infidelity, mental stress, divorce, helplessness etc.

Characters are well built, events are well discribed and the narration is good. The language used is lucid. The book may seem slow at times but is fine at others.

The cover is eye catching and the title is unique and attractive.

With about 280 pages, I recommend this book to matured readers who's around thirties. Young readers like us fail to understand some serious issues related to marriage. We aren't able to connect emotionally with the book in the way we should which is not a good thing.

This book was a little bit different from normal love stories . With this story a social problem which has become now very common in every family has highlighted . Eishita and Arjun who were married each other and not only that when they are parents of a child then Eishita got to know that Arjun was cheated her and he had an extra marital affair with another woman. The quick decision of divorce seemed the better solution to them. But within the period of stay in separation and trying to adjust between themselves changed the chemistry between thus married cpuple. Friends famiky and life started to give them some different chances. Their child their responsibilities and vanished love between them gave a turn in their lives. It was a good read . How divorce , separation , mental preparation , adjustment and importance of family has been put on the table that is really appreciable and enough to make it different from other romantic love story.

A Hiccup in love is a book based on some very important and essential parts of marriage life - the way the partners maintain the loyalty and the hazards of outbreach.
The author has really done a great job by putting forward the topics of marriage, loyalty, infidelity, extra-marital affairs,
divorce and marriage counselling.
Secondly, the way the protagonist of the story manages herself and her marriage and copes up with the situation, and pulls herself together and moves on in her life is way more commendable. The narration is superb.
The importance of marriage counselling and friends & family has been very well lighted.
Storyline is quite relatable.
Writing style is lucid and the book flows pretty well.
Character development is to the mark.
Only that some repitition tends to break the flow.
Overall, it was a very enlightening read.

A HICCUP IN LOVE by NIVEDITA VEDURLA is a story about a girl named Eshita and her complicated love life. The book revolves around Eshita, her husband Arjun and son Harshit. Eshita goes through a lot in her marriage but her mother and best friend, Ruhi never left her side. Read and find out how Eshita tackles these obstacles and builds a better future for herself and Harshit.

The story is full of romance and drama. Some things were quite predictable. The plot was not something out of the box. I liked Eshita's character development though. The writing style was simple but could have been better. The title does justice to the book.

I would recommend it to beginners or people who love romance.
