Set in Trinidad, this is the story of Fiona (excellent name) who has come to work and visit her recently married sister Dawn who is unhappy.

Once there, she meets Bill who works with Dawn's husband Colin. Bill is handsome and traditionally enigmatic and disapproves of Dawn who wants Colin to move back to England.

Things are complicated by the presence of the charming Oliver who is at first presented as a friend of Fiona's but is more interested in a flirtation with Dawn. There is also Leon, who pursues her romantically. In the background is unrest with one man trying to stir up the laborers to rebel.

An interesting picture of Trinidad in the 1950's and an enjoyable love story.
