"If you've been to Starbucks more than once, you'll want to read Tripio" Howard Behar-Retired President, Starbucks Coffee CompanySet in Chicago in the summer of 1992, Tripio is the story of aspiring author Jay, who is facing three choices that will change his life forever. He must reckon with this own literary shortcomings and the overwhelming prospect of fatherhood while climbing the ladder for an small but ambitious coffee company called Starbucks, which continues to ask more of him than he thinks he can handle.
Jerry VanSchaik lives in Indianapolis. After an internship with the Saturday Evening Post during the fall of 2016 he was given the confidence and inspiration to begin work on Tripio.
"Tripio" resonates with anyone who's felt the pulse of a cafe or cradled a warm cup from 'Starbies'. It's a heartfelt tale weaving the art of coffee, the craft of writing, and the transformation into parenthood. Any cafe veterans (self included) would see reflections of their own stories in its pages—a genuine treat for any coffee lover or life's barista.
I enjoyed this book. It truly reminded me of my time with Starbucks.
However, it isn't my type of book. That's not the book's fault. I'm just not really into realistic fiction. The narration is sort of a stream of conscience type. Which is intriguing because I kept trying to see if anything seemingly unimportant became important. That's from my mysteries though I guess.
