{My thoughts} – Tag, Skyla and Blaze get to go on an all new adventure together. In this book they are in search of the Cloud Kingdom. They are under the impression that if they can find the portal that will lead them there, that they will be able to find Blaze’s family.

They do manage to find the portal and they do manage to get into the Cloud Kingdom. However, they aren’t able to find any sign of life. They walk around exploring for hours and don’t encounter anything that is living. Eventually, they get really thirsty and stop at a stream. Before they are able to get a drink they are warned to stop. They finally meet some living creatures and they are called Cloudlings. The Cloudlings tell them the water isn’t safe and then one of them leads them away and near where they think other firehawks might be.

Once they reach that area they part ways and head towards a waterfall. From there Blaze is taken and Skyla and Tag need to find a way to rescue him. Are they able to reach their friend before something bad happens? Are they able to find other firehawks? There are so many things happening in this book, hopefully once you read it you will have the answers to many or at least some of your questions.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it is released!

The Last Firehawk books are a wonderful series for both boys and girls that enjoy animals, magic, mystery, and adventure.

For me and our family, this specific book, The Cloud Kingdom felt like a transition book. Or an introduction to the second part of the series. The war with Thorn is over. But Blaze still wants to find his family and find out if he truly is the last firehawk. So Tag and Skyla and Blaze start a new journey to find the firehawks while they rely on old friends and keep an eye out for former enemies.

We finished another book in this series this week. Now that Thorn has been defeated, Sky and Tag are on a mission to help Blaze find her family. They visit the Cloud Kingdom and are helped along by Fifi, a cute cloudling. But then, something goes wrong and someone kidnaps Blaze! The book ends with yet another cliffhanger, so to the library we will go!

I’ve said it before – but this a very fun series. It’s beautifully illustrated, which keeps everyone interested and engaged. And of course, these three characters have formed a wonderful little family and teach us how to care for each other.

Reading these books makes me feel on fire because where else can I knock out so many books so fast other than poetry books or dramas written out in verse? This series is still holding it’s charm, 7 books in. I have 3 more books of the series to read before I’m off to another adventure.

Again, if you are new here, I am book clubbing it with my 9 year old son and he’s reading these almost as fast as me. Keeping me on my toes, my little book dragon is. <3

I don't really like this book because it left me hanging. Books that leave me hanging is not always a good book.
