Captain Elaine Cole is an accomplished and popular commercial airline pilot. She’s spent her entire career bouncing from one airport to the next, and one lover to the next as well. Being a pilot has made it hard for Lanie to settle down and find love, and now that she’s in her forties it’s really starting to wear on her.
When Carrie Haden is assigned as a flight attendant on her route, Lanie feels herself falling for the beautiful younger woman. But Carrie is different than the flight attendants Lanie has been with in the past. There’s something else there—a brighter spark, a deeper affection—and Lanie can’t help but feel that this is her opportunity to finally find the love she seeks.
Building trust and committing to a relationship is difficult for a pilot like Lanie. Could Carrie be the one who finally inspires Lanie to change her ways?
I enjoyed the story. It brought me into these women's lives and keep me wanting more , this book had everything a romance is about, everyday life, jobs dating, romance and love, this is the book to kick back and get lost in.
I love this author. This book does not disappoint. Lanie and Carrie are definitely attracted to each other. The job they share brings them closer. It could also be the one thing to pull them apart. Lanie has a reputation. Carrie has her childhood memories. Read their story. See if opposites attract. Will love keep them together? Can you commit to the present by letting go of the past?
Lanier and Carries characters were wonderful. The storyline was a constant with no drifting off of the subject line. Telling the story about the trials faced by individuals in the airline industry was so believable. Enjoyed this love story even if it did have its ups and downs. Nicole Dane didn’t disappoint this reader.
Too cliché and predictable, and quite boring to read. Then, the raunchy scenes would come out of no-where and I ended up skipping most of them because they were too much/too graphic. Definitely won't be reading anymore Nicolette Dane. Not my favorite at all.
This book left out the reason to fall in love with each other. Not enough background on the falling in love part, more of a fall in bed and see if we can make it mostly.
I really like this author but this book was definitely not a favorite. I never felt the chemistry between Lanie, the pilot, and Carrie, the flight attendant/musician, especially before they fell into bed with each other. The book was also very repetitive. I honestly felt that Lanie found someone to settle down with because she was feeling old, but never because she loved Carrie. I'll look for future books by the author and hopefully the chemistry better the characters will be better.
I liked this story. I think it is original in being set in the context of a romance between an airline pilot and a flight attendant who both struggle with the scheduling demands of their jobs. And I liked how they both grow and change through the course of the novel.
However, I feel the book needs the attention of a good editor. Sentence and paragraph structures could be cleaned up, and point-of-view shifts need to be addressed, particularly with respect to authorial intrusions.
This book was perplexing, at times it was like reading a story on fast forward, a few times I read back a few pages to see where the leap had come in the story. Also it has first person views from both characters which is good and the writing and dialogue are well done, but it’s interspersed with third person narration viewpoints that really didn’t work and weren’t needed.
I am conflicted about trying another book by this author as signs are there she could be good, but it could also be more of the same.
A 40-something pilot with a player reputation, a 20-something flight attendant who's passion lies in music, exes sticking their noses in, and an underlying current of attraction fueled by the desire for some different, something fresh. Lanie and Carrie draw you into their story, their lives, and their struggles with the stop-start of their new relationship. If you enjoy lesbian romance with happy endings, put this book on your must read list.
I liked playgirl Laine, her background story, how she was one of the few female pilots. She's trying to change her ways when she meets Carrie and I rooted for those two, specially Laine, but my problem was Carrie and how easy was for her to break up stuff with Laine, even though I ended up understanding Carrie's POV and I did loved how they came together after that.
Testament to the old tale that says you can't teach an old dog new tricks . Well it's quite obvious at least for this writer that you most certainly can. Great job Nicolette Dane ! I enjoyed this e-book very much ! And thank you for allowing the free read ! It's difficult to afford the books especially when after I've read them I like returning to make room for the next !
I loved this book, I really liked the idea of following a female pilots career and trying to integrate a love life into that schedule without continuing with the live fast and sleep with as many stewardesses as possible routine. It was nice to see her settle down. This was a more maturer book from Dane and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I enjoyed Nico’s story about love on a plane. You know this probably happens a lot but you don’t think about how hard it really is to have a relationship in the aviation industry. I know you will enjoy this one, so pick it up!
Fun and interesting look into the lives of a airline pilot. It tells a story of love and of unloved life of two women both unsure of what they want in life.
Overall the book was good. There were a few things it left hanging(example not explaining how Lanie was privilege) should have give some more family background on this. Also an Epilogue would have been nice. Did Carrie every achieve her dream
It was another cute hea by N.D I enjoyed the book and it was a pretty good story. Two completely different characters made it interesting. And for the ones saying lanie wouldn't go for a girl like Carrie obviously they don't live in the real world.
My main issues is that I was not able to really feel the chemistry between those two characters. Also I was kind of thrown off by the fact that most scenes just got cut off and I feel like that the sex scenes were just thrown randomly in there.
This is a nice, easygoing story about 2 women, both at a point where they need to decide which way they want their lives to proceed. And once again, love will lead the way! 😊
I always enjoy Ms. Dane's books and Lady Pilot was no different!! From the start i was drawn into Carrie and Lanie's world and i loved getting to know them.
This story had a little bit of everything. From the first interaction and the sexual attraction to love. Enjoyed the characters. Made for an easy read.
