Using the FreeRTOS Real Time Kernel - a Practical Guide - Cortex M3 Edition

Rate this book
This is a concise, step by step, 'hands on' guide that describes both general multitasking concepts and FreeRTOS specifics. It presents and explains numerous examples that are written using the FreeRTOS API. Full source code for all the examples is provided in an accompanying .zip file. The Cortex-M3 edition includes sixteen examples. Currently these are available as IAR projects that target the Luminary Micro/TI Stellaris family of microcontrollers, or Keil projects that use the Keil Cortex-M3 simulator (no hardware is necessary to run the projects in the Keil simulator). There is also a separate edition of the book that specifically targets the NXP LPC17xx Cortex-M3 microcontroller. A chapter is included that describes FreeRTOS-MPU - the FreeRTOS Cortex-M3 port that includes integrated Memory Protection Unit (MPU) support (please note the example projects do not make use of the MPU). This book is a step by step 'hands on' guide. It does not contain a complete API reference. An API reference manual is available as a separate document.
