The Wild Boys #1

The Wild Interview

Rate this book
I have been working hard my whole life for people to take me seriously. After all, women ‘don’t belong’ in the music industry. However, when an interview goes wrong, I am offered a once in a lifetime opportunity, to manage The Wild Boys, an all-male strip show featuring bad boys with an even worse reputation.

It’s now my job to fix it, if I can keep my hands to myself.

Jealous girlfriends, adoring fans and venue problems are all part of the job, but I never expected that my feelings would get in the way of my career.

One thing is for certain, it’s going to be a year to remember.

Welcome to The Wild Boys, where all your wettest dreams come true.

*18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning, this book contains scenes some readers may find triggering.*

⚠ Warning ⚠ The gifs used here are shameless,x-rated and objectify men but come on what else did you expect me to use?

In a genre full to the brim with damaged heroines and teenagers suffering with PTSD this was a breath of fresh air .

With a cover like that I expected maximum smut but it surprised me with more relationship building than smexy times. It has its fair share build up, sexual tension and the scenes when we get there are filthy and full of dirty talk *fans self* which was perfect.

shameless gif usage I know

If you mix up the KPop one with Groupie with a dash of Magic Mike then you’ll get a feel for what this is like.

What they got right
- The name. As a fellow Gabrielle I can tell you from experience I will answer to pretty much any variation of my name. I’ve been called it all. Gabrielle, Gabriella, Gaby, Gab, Gabs, even Gabriel. So I didn’t find it weird that her name changed from page to page - that’s pretty spot on.

- The friendships. Nice to see a girls playing nice for once and also refreshing to see one of guys in a platonic friendship too!

- The show. During my recent mid 30s crisis I took a girls trip to London to see Magic Mike on stage. Now the ladies who wrote this must have seen this show also. The show in this book is not like the real thing, not the same as the real thing. It’s an exact replica of what happens during that show! And what fond memories I have

naughty gifs tut tut

What they got wrong
- The winking. Holy Mary, the winking drove me bananas! 67 times....sixty seven times... the word wink, winking, winks is written! Can we not come up with another way to be cheeky or flirty please, I was beginning to think they had a permanent twitch or something

- the over used formula for forbidden romances. I spent the whole time waiting for that other shoe to drop. No spoilers so I cant tell you if it did or not. The plot didn't fill me with suspense but

it’s the journey right

And I enjoyed this journey much more than I thought I would

Got one more got in there you are welcome

All I can say is that C M Stunich spoiled me with the theme "people on tour".
This was a nice and quick reading and I'll try to read the next one.

Katie and Erin are such a good writing team. This is the second book I have read of theirs and they never disapoint me. They are very coheasive together. Oh how I love the boys in the story. HOT HOT HOT! Who doesnt love a stripper RH. Wait, I dont think I have ever read a stripper RH story, so let's add unique to the review.

Gabby is a very stong heroine. Katie and Erin are always very good at writing a stong heroine.

This book has some mystery as well. I give them a strong 5 star review.

The Wild Interview by K.A Knight and Erin O’Kane, is another great reverse harem co-write between these two. This is a fun, enjoyable, sexy and a little bit emotional read.

Gabriella Menro aka Gabby is looking for a new job, and has found one that’s a step up to a title she’s being working towards - Music Tour Manager. But has she chewed off more than she can handle with her job being not exactly what she expected. Plus she’ll get the shock of a lifetime when she finally meets the Wild Boys.

Side note: Theres a nice little addition to this series with the novella One Night Only in Valentines Between The Sheets anthology.

look no further than The Wild Interview. Knight and O'Kane created a wildly fun story about what happens when Gabby, a music manager, winds up working for a group of strippers with an image problem.

Gabby is a bit of a hot mess, but she tries to hide it. Most of the time, she succeeds. She's ballsy, willing to put herself out there, and ready to take charge of her wild, handsome men. For the first few chapters, her life is really just a case of Murphy's Law- try to get a job? Go to the wrong interview. Try to keep secrets from your conservative parents? Well, good luck with that! For all her bits of messiness, I like Gabby, and I'm rooting for her to be happy and successful.

The boys are a fun bunch- full of personality, some humor, cuddle puddles, and a sweetness that makes it easy to see how Gabby could start to fall for them. The dynamic that develops between them is a little bit fast, but really it starts off as some emotional and more platonic intimacy, so that worked fine for me. I like that they start to get more physically comfortable with each other instead of jumping straight to s*x in chapter two.

The Wild Interview was something more than I expected. I thought it was going to be just a contemporary RH with some s*xy dancers, maybe some M/M, and certainly some relationship drama. Honestly, most of the drama comes from OUTSIDE Gabby and her relationship with the guys, and I actually wound up enjoying that. There's a bit of a dangerous mystery that's started to surround Gabby since she got involved with the Wild Boys, and I've got some theories of how that's all going to work out.

In any case, The Wild Interview was an entertaining ride, and I'll totally be up to get back in line for book two!

Unfortunately, I really struggled with this one and it took me several days to finish it. I like the idea of the male stripper reverse harem; I think it is a great idea but this just didn’t work for me. I never connected with any of the characters; a couple of the harem members blur together and the ones I can assign distinct personality traits to still feel underdeveloped overall. I appreciated the physical aspect of their relationship taking a little longer to come in to play, but the heroine expressed they were in her heart before they had spent any real time together on page and before I even could remember the heroes’ names. There were a couple of story concepts I enjoyed but i just couldn’t connect with this one as a whole. I can see from other ratings/reviews that plenty of people loved this one so definitely check out for yourself to see if it grabs you, or read in KU like I did.

This is one sexy read. I really like Gabby. Her attitude is awesome. Even after she realized she got hired for the wrong job, she rolls with it and makes her guys into quite the success. Her parents really disappointed me. I hope they come to their senses, but if they do, but they better grovel like mad. Blake, Damien, Kingston, Liam and Leo are great. They are sexy, sweet and good to Gabby. Blake is pretty crabby at first, but he's got a gooey center.

I'm really dying to know who the stalker is. I can't help but to wonder if it's someone really obvious that I'm just overlooking. Whoever it is, they're completely psycho.

Gabrielle or Gabby, Gabs or whatever, and her stripers

Why did I not love this book as much as I wish I had?! I am sad right now.

I wanted more because I loved everything about this series, the manager of The Wild Boys, an all-male strip show, 6 sexy males, well 5 with which she will have a relationship. I had such a MagicMike imagine in my head, I loved those movies and I really wanted this! Sadly I was a little bit disappointed by this series, I might not even finish it.

Since I read Den of Vipers I think I had way too high expectations? I loved that book and the RH going on, but in this one, I didn't feel the connection at all. They all felt forced and not really into each other. Gabby was a little too cold, not really a character to me close to the end of the book.

In this book, I thought that Emmett or Mark was the stalker.

One successful interview...for the wrong job turns out to be the best thing that has ever happened in Gabby's life. A strong woman who is making a success in the music industry, Gabby is hired to be the tour manager of a male strip revue. The Wild Boys have talent but a bad reputation and need more than a little attention. Now Boss Lady is in charge. Gabby needs to reign the guys in, improve their routine, upgrade their image, deal with jealous girlfriends and their fanatics. When she finds herself catching feelings for the guys her job becomes even more complicated. She hasn't worked so hard, lost so much to throw her career away for a pretty face and a hot body or five. But can she resist?

What a fun book! Definitely not your typical stripper book. Emmett is a great guy. Blake, Kingston, Leo, Liam, and Damon are as yummy as they come but each also has a distinctive personality and more depth than you will normally find. They each have an irresistible sweetness as well, even grumpy Blake (My personal favorite). Gabby is fantastically fierce; feminine and intelligent. A deadly combo. Her story is relatable on many levels. I love how she remained kind and professional throughout. This book had some of everything to make it entertaining; sexiness, suspense, tears, hijinks, emotional moments, friendships, and an oversized purple dildo. What more could you ask for?

There are just so many great things about this book! I was pretty curious about it, I've never read a book about strippers before! But I love everything that K.A Knight and Erin O'Kane write so it did not hesitate to read this book! What a wild ride! (ha, punny). I was hooked right away. Gabby, our main character stumbles across this particular job as a tour manager to the Wild Boys and she just runs with it. I immediately liked Gabby. She has a great personality and I found her to be quite entertaining. She has a bit of a challenge getting things going that's for sure! The Wild boys are all amazing with distinct personalities and charm and even some attitude! I love the fact that the Wild Boys being strippers isn't the main story . Its definitely important but the relationships, friendships, the job, training, tour and overall lives of the characters and the mystery is what makes this book so great. The chemistry, drama , romance -and mystery- everything about this book was intense, hot and fun! I really enjoyed this read as in ignore everything going on around me, could not put down enjoy. It was such a fun engrossing read that had me laughing out loud and tearing up. I am eager to read the next installment!

I’ve had a taste of a male strip show but not to this extent and damn did it make me think about what I missed with a show like this.
.
Hot damn I wasn’t prepared for this. The drama, the spice, the men, the intensity level was through the roof. I didn’t expect this at all from these amazing authors and I need more. I’m so glad I’ve started this series now that it’s complete because I would not have handled the wait time between books!
.
In saying that I think what I loved the most was the realism. Not gonna lie I thought it was going to be smut full stop but there’s real depth with this book which I love. We see actual character build as well as their relationship build, there’s nothing this book doesn’t give us and it blew me away. Each character truly is unique and give something a little different to the story which give different elements of life.
.
Just as I enjoyed the character and relationship build, the world build felt really tangible and like I was reading a non-fiction as opposed to a fiction book. This was magic mike on steroids but without the cheesy lines and unreliable scenarios. This felt genuine and in some cases raw and completely original. I have loved every minute of this book!
.
Bring on book 2!

Wow. What a read. The wild interview is awesome.

We join a very strong totally ordinary main character Gabby. AkA "Boss Lady"
She is the kind of character that you just love straight away.

We have these amazing guys, very hot and totally enthralling.

Fantastic story line, written beautifully well. It's great with the added mystery. I found myself guessing who was the stalker.... I think I know who it is now...

I really enjoyed book 1, and am flying onto book 2 "The wild tour"

Fantastic read.

I will give the 6 strippers who make up the Wild Boys 3 stars. Why? you ask. Because reading a book about six sexy strippers was something new and different from the usual shifters and rock stars Ive recently favoured. And this is the only reason why I settled on 3 and not 2 stars. Because the story itself was only an okay read.

The Wild Interview is a entertaining book. It definitely made me wish I had my own stripper harem.. or well, any harem lol. It was cool learning about the ins and outs of being a stripper dance group. I remember when I turned 21 and saw my first show, now I wish I paid more attention to not only the show, but the individuals and people behind it.

Anyways, this book is an easy read.. with hot sex scenes. Thankfully, they are not overwhelming and the story lets the relationships build somewhat naturally. So, it does not jump into sex right away.

The plot is basically them falling in love and the FMC learning how to balance that with her job as their manager.

Lost a star because of lack of individual development. There was clear favoritism in regards to the harem men. 2-3 were the focus. However, I never felt connected to them. Many of them have such similar personalities, attitudes and dialogue that they blended together. Their backgrounds (all of them) were stated quickly and in a way that suggests they are not important to the story.. but it seemed to be forgotten that it is important to the characters, character development and emotion. The only character with clear emotional background ties is the FMC.

Nevertheless, it was a good story and I’ll read the next book after I get some sleep (its 4 am!).

This was an easy quick read! This book follows Gabby, a music manager, who interviews for a gig and she ends up managing a troupe of strippers.

I liked Gabby most of the time. I didn’t quite like the mystery aspect, it was fine, just didn’t do it for me. The boys were fun. I feel like Kelsey’s character was a bit irrelevant to the story to be honest, I get why she was written in but maybe she should’ve been given a bigger role?

The tension and buildup was the best part honestly. Not as much smut as I thought there was going to be (after reading K.A. Knight’s DOV) which was refreshing since the buildup was good. This being said, I feel like Gabby and the boys became besties within a week and the timing needed some work. As well as their relationship building, which was good after the beginning, it just started really fast.

Left with a cliffhanger at the end of this book, so maybe will read the next two depending on how I’m feeling. I think overall the plot was present enough, but the characters were the real stars of the show for this book!

Ok. So. I’m a sucker for anything KA Knight.
But. This book was just. Perfection.
I loved the dynamic. I loved the slow burn (and I’m normally not a fan of it)
I love the stalker and drama.
It’s so good.
On to book 2!!

ReRead: 2022::

Still love this book. Still adore the heart and emotions that I feel for our FMC and how funny the boys are. I still love that we have a BFF instead of the six being all for her and I still freaking adore Mark.

This book was very good. It's not what you think at all when you see the cover. It has heart and the characters are deep. I really enjoyed all the laughs and had a few moments of tears. The book hits all the boxes.

Editing is a bit lacking, but thankfully, the story isn't!

Trigger warning for the book: Sexual assault / attempted r@pe

This book is a single POV from the female main character, Gabrielle. Normally, I'm not a big fan on single POV (I prefer multiple POV so you can see into the male's mind as well), but this book is actually really well done. Gabby is observant enough to see the guys' facial expressions and sense their moods, so you can still get an idea of what they're thinking. That, and the guys are all pretty open as it is, so it isn't usually a mystery!

I only have one major (and rather harsh) critique for this book (the only reason it lost a star), and then I'll move on to the good points. Some basic editing is definitely needed. There are times when words are incorrectly typed out (eg., "... as they guys started warming up" instead of "THE guys," basic "too / to" mistakes, "hand" instead of "head", etc), there are lines that should have been two sentences instead of one, and so on. Issues that SHOULD have been easy to catch in editing but were somehow missed or even caught by beta readers. I briefly wondered if there just wasn't an editor hired, but when I finished the book, one was mentioned in the acknowledgments. Maybe one day it can get redone (I wouldn't buy a hard copy of this book until it was edited, personally), but honestly, that isn't exactly on the author so much as the editors and even anyone who read the book before publishing.

Moving on!

At one point early on, I was reading while out in public and had to hide my misty eyes. It isn't too easy for me to visibly react to a book, but one part early on in particular definitely had me tearing me up a bit!

Gabby's new job wasn't what she was expecting, but it turned out to be so much better than she could have imagined. She meets people who become so important in her life, and not just in a romantic way. She's strong-willed, competent, stubborn in the best way, and the ultimate "boss babe." She's what so many young women should strive for, and I'd even go so far as to say a role model. She lives her life how she wants, and to heck with any nay-sayers.

The men of the Wild Boys all have different back stories and unique personalities. They formed their own family with each other, and it's the sweetest thing.

Closer to the end of the book, a bit of a twist pops up. It becomes more and more important as you finish the book and is the main point of the cliffhanger.

This is a slow burn to start, but it picks up fast as you get closer to the end!

Skipping over the editing that needs doing in this book (honestly, I was a bit harsh; I've definitely seen worse, but they were also lower quality and lesser known authors), this is a really good read, and I'd still recommend it!

The Wild Interview is the first book in the new series from this writing duo, Erin O’Kane and K. A Knight. The story is about Gabby, who applied for a music manager only to mistakenly land a job instead as a Tour Manager for a bunch of out-of-control, soon to be disbanded group of stripper, The Wild Boys. She sorely needed the job, so what’s a girl gotta do? Put her professional mask and big girl’s pants on, possibly turn this group around and prove to the board that a woman can pull this off. If only the guys of this stripper group isn’t the heat inducing, drool worthy, panty melting type who drives her crazy with their surprising vulnerability. Gabby didn’t expect to care for the guys but with her work on the line and a deadly stalker on the move, will their love survive this wild crazy ride?

Okay, where is book 2? Because this girl needs it. I truly enjoyed reading this book! I liked the slow build up of the relationship with Gabby and the guys. Sure, there was an instant attraction but the build up to that moment when they have to cross the line makes it worth the agony. Whew!

I instantly liked Gabby’s character. She is sassy, smart, who can give as much as she can get type of girl. I can definitely see her as someone I can be friends with in real life. Now, let’s talk about the boys. I love how the authors show us their side/ back story of some of the guys throughout this book; that there is more to them than their hot bodies and pretty faces. I’m curious to see if the authors will let one of the guys stay in that “friend zone” though.

This was a fun, enjoyable read and I’m eagerly waiting for the next installment.

The Wild Interview follows Gabby as she starts a new job as a tour manager. Not quite the tour she thought it was, Gabby has to wrangle a bunch of male strippers and make their show a success. When her personal life begins to darken, can the guys add some light?
This is not your typical stripper book. While there are strippers in it, the book focuses on the characters, their relationships, the tour and a mystery. Well, and some sexy scenes. Still, the story has layers of complexity that aren't necessarily seen in books that claim the same space.
Gabby is a fun character. She's neither weak nor overly strong. She is a nice blend of the two and is relatable. This book has one of the funniest scenes(hint: Barney) and has some humor sprinkled throughout. She has issues like we all do, but I like those in a character. The guys all have their own story and personality which makes it fun.
The plot line is deceptively simple. The tour, the relationships, the mystery. Sounds pretty simple. It's not. It is written like it is though. I still can't figure out the mystery(although I have a vague theory based on hunches). Each thing is woven within the other and we ride along smoothly. That's harder to do than you think.
Overall, I would recommend this book. Even if you think strippers and hesitate, give it a try. See what you think. I promise it's not your typical story.

Spoiler free, as always! Let me start out by saying, I went into this book essentially without reading any blurbs or spoilers, for the most part. So while I had a basic idea of the premise, I went in with full faith in two authors that I’ve read before and thoroughly enjoyed, despite this being a contemporary novel. And I have to say – I was not disappointed! Once I’d read it, I learned more from reading blurbs and discovered it was inspired a bit by Magic Mike performances – strip shows, essentially, only in an RH setting! Well, I actually hated those movies, I thought they were horrible, I couldn’t get through the first one. This book, on the other hand, not raunchy or disgusting in any way – it’s surprisingly classy, meant to distinguish the plotline, rather than try to out-trash anything. It has an incredibly detailed, emotional and thought provoking plotline to it that draws you in and keeps you interested, with a variety of characters that make you want to learn more with each chapter. And, as I’ve come to expect with these two authors, it had a hilarious dose of comedy that caused me more than once to nearly drop my kindle and laugh so hard I almost fell off my couch, only to go back and read the scene over and laugh the same amount again. All in all, a great, unexpected book from two amazing authors.

Here I am with another romance/ reverse harem review.

We start with this book with our main FMC where she goes for an interview but mistakes the rooms and has an interview to be a manager for a "dance" crew rather than music. She manages to get the job and when she meets her team she realizes the mistake she made. I love though she is sticking with it and proving everyone wrong that she is indeed the right person for this job.

This is a magic mike scenario only with a manager.

There are things that happen and she ends up living with them because she has nowhere to go.

I love that she goes to their house and they completely utterly respect her and treat her like a princess. Their friendship starts to go really well and they get closer. Obviously, there is insane chemistry but no one acts on it for a while. I loved that part, we got to see the bonding first which was fantastic. This book is a medium burn where you get all the good part of the romance novel. Also, I believe it is a series. I mean the first book finished on an open ending which for some like me it's enough not to read another book. I mean if I come across the second book for sure I will read it. But I can go without as well.

This book is worth a read for those who love contemporary romance with reverse harem thrown into the mix.

Two words for you SUPER * HOT‼️

The Wild Interview is the first in what looks to be a great series. If you need a pick me up like I did, this is the book for you.
✅ Reverse Harem : check
✅ Super Hot : check
✅ Fun and Exciting : check and check
✅ Great storyline : check

This is a fast paced contemporary rom com. And you can imagine the content given we’re talking about male strippers. Gabby makes one simple mistake that becomes the best damn thing to happen to her in years; she becomes a tour manage for a group of male strippers. She’s sassy and doesn’t take crap from anyone but she is super respectful as well. At a time where she really needs a shoulder to lean on she ends up with six and the beginnings of an epic relationship. The Wild Boys have a bad reputation and it’s Gabbys job to help them clean it up. The Wild Boys don’t let anyone into their inner circle but Gabby has them wrapped around her finger/legs/body - you get the picture. Together they prove that these guys aren’t just strippers but of course their is always that one unknown person that has to ruin things and in the end could cost them dearly!

I’m jumping out of my skin needing to find out what will happen next; can’t wait for the sequel

The Wild Interview by K.A. Knight

I Give this Book a 5/5 Star Rating, Seriously!
I can’t express to you enough on how much this book helped me relax from anxiety, and let’s me just truly ENJOY a book.

Cliffhanger(?): Yes!
Heat & Romance (I rarely put these together, but for this book it fits having them rated together): 3.5/5, This is Book 1 after all, I’m glad it’s is not Insta-heat, the book has a real life feel and flow too it. While there’s immediate attraction, it’s not a ‘rush to the bedroom’ type and I was glad for that because I wouldn’t want to read a book that came of ‘cheap’.
Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem
Drama: 2ish-2.5?/5. Yes, there is a little drama but not enough to overwhelm the first book :)
Suspense: 2.5
Pacing: Very Good Pacing, evenly paced and it doesn’t come off as rushed or insta.
And it LOVE the Breathing Space in this book, I never lost focus.
Humor: 5/5!!! It not cliched, it makes you feel so good and just feel happy to burst out laughing.

If you’re in dire need of a really lighthearted RH that features cute cuddles & puppy piles, pajama parties, gallons of baby oil and Hot Magic Mike Men or a book that just has all the feels with characters that pull you in and make you feel welcome with open arms.
This is THAT READ!

This review is for the whole Wild Boys series, not just the first book. I came to this book riding the high from the Groupie series, and while it had that same tour bus feel, this was totally different. I was surprised by the mystery elements and the who-done-it feel of the plot. I will say, that once they introduced the stalker, I was like oh that's for sure the stalker...it was not surprising in the least bit, but I'm forgiving on the plot as long as the dialogue and the smut is on point, and it definitely was. I enjoyed that Gabby was a curvy, boss, no nonsense kind of woman. She doesn't need a man, she just happens to want 5 of them, so she'll do what the heck she wants. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars was the predictability in the third book, and I also wish we'd have seen some additional development between Kathy and Emmett because that was sort of washed over and could have been expanded for the better of the story. Otherwise, loved it. Page turned all 3 books and then had to retreat to kindle for a new series to cover up my loss over my new book boyfriend Kingston. Sigh....read this is you enjoy RH and the performing arts! It will hit the spot.

Fun New Twist on the Reverse Harem

Firstly, I love that this is set in the UK, where I live and for once not having to translate currency in my head. Secondly, I love these characters - they are awesome.

Gabby goes to the wrong interview by accident, thinking she is going to be a music manager and ends up being the manager for a troupe of male strippers. They are constantly getting into trouble and the finances for the tour are a bit of a mess and she only has a few weeks before the tour starts. It doesn’t help that she lusts after the ‘Wild Boys’. The guys all live together in a great house and they have all known each other for years and act like family.

Gabby has a falling out with her parents about her new job and ends up moving in with the guys. Things begin to evolve from boss and employees to friends and possibly more.

I really want to read the next book now, but know I’ll have to wait. There is a bit of a cliff hanger but it didn’t make me want to thrown my e-reader across the room, so it wasn’t that bad.

Fun and steamy read

A good contemporary RH read with male strippers. Plenty of steam and sexual tension in this book. The main character Gabby is quick witted and does not put up with crap which is enjoying to read. Liam reminds me of a puppy who always wants Gabby’s attention. He is so lighthearted and goofy. He is probably my favorite. I also like how the author doesn’t include all the male strippers into the Harem which was a twist I didn’t entirely expect.

I was a little disappointed at times with the love triangle with Leo, Kelsey, and Gabby. It was good that the authors never allowed either Gabby or Leo to cross any physical lines and be a cheater or home wrecker but the emotional attraction was there which I cringed to read but I also know that you can’t control your feelings or attractions but you can control your behavior so I’m glad the authors tried to keep their integrity intact.

This ends on a little bit of a cliff hanger so I will be interested to see what happens next. Overall, good story which was fun to read.

These strippers will steal your heart!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was even a decent size novel and took me a day to finish! Which is massive because I can go through 2-3 books a day.
The FMC is bloody awesome! She is blunt, witty, confident and has the Wild Boys wrapped around her pinky. I really enjoyed her banter between herself and the boys, it was super playful, even when the flirting was so blase', she could hold her own.
Now, the boys are all delicious. Blake is my fav, I'm a total sucker for the broody alpha type and my oh my does Blake fit that bill.
This isn't your average stripper romance either. Of course it is RH so our FMC doesn't have to choose #whychoose, but there is an actual story and plot that goes on. Great character development, we get the background cliff notes to all the guys and a more indepth look at the FMC. The last few chapters we fantastic, the suspense was well written. I would totally recommend this to you and anyone who is a fan of sexy men, a confident female lead and an excellent storyline.
